...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

MadGnome - a great point! I hadn't twigged that the killer being told the pregnancy was fake was why they went away from Asa. Maybe Freddie is a beloved sibling of the fostered killer - because he talked about his poor family when he was announcing his investment; maybe they ran out of money for another kid? It works better with him being the dad of the killer though and wanting a child so badly... teenage pregnancy maybe?

EugenesAxe · 14/12/2015 23:20

I knew it was her DH that was murdered - I meant why invest that much plot line for a relative of a victim if there was nothing else. Hanging's point about it introducing the photographer is a fair one though. I'd forgotten about the person in the bushes watching Jeanette & partner.

RomComPhooey · 14/12/2015 23:33

Someone made an interesting comment on the Guardian website which I thought could be right: that the body remains that the pathologist (or whoever he is) shows to Saga could be Henrik's wife?

Tsk! I was coming on to post that. Serves me right for catching up late, after you guys have already done the post-match analysis.

StoptheRavelry · 15/12/2015 08:27

There was a spoiler on the BBC iplayer page for the next episode - anyone can go and look, but I won't repeat it here! - to do with the baby and Jeanette.

gingercat12 · 15/12/2015 08:44

Somehow I think dodgy Kill Brother bloke knew Henrik from the army. That is all. I have no clue what is going on.

In the first episode it was said that Helle Anker used to run a fertility clinic. Just an almost throwaway mention.

I reckon that's going to prove relevant.

Brothers through sperm or egg donation? Or surrogacy?

Did the foster family or Hans and his first wife have fertility treatment maybe?

Hangingbasket14 · 15/12/2015 12:30

Kumquat, I didn't realise that, I agree, as I said I really think Hans is more involved than just a police officer who took Emil home. I also think it's weird that a bit of time was spent on Hans' ex wife which supports the theory that it may be to do with an illegitimate child. DH and I spent a good 15 minutes last night discussing what we were going to have for dinner/drinks/nibbles on. Bridge finale night!

Alastrante · 15/12/2015 12:46

I really think it's Ã…sa.

She's always out, it's been commented on
She was 'interested' in pointing out to Henrik that serial killers are rarely female, almost proud of it
She knows the art
We know nothing of her background

er that's all really

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 15/12/2015 12:50

Yes Alastrante! Would make sense with her being behind Jeanette's appearance.

KumquatMaybe · 15/12/2015 12:52

Or could Hans have been a sperm donor??

I'm sure Ankerfert is somehow relevant. Its such an odd career move - fertility clinic to nursery school - that I think its got to be linked to the plot.

Holstein · 15/12/2015 12:58

That would tie in with Morten's 'brother' statement.
Morten was 27 or 28? Who else is that age? Lukas is dead. Emil is younger. Rickard and Marc are younger. Where does Freddie Holst actually originate?

gingercat12 · 15/12/2015 13:28

Alastrante You may be right. Asa was certainly set up as a psychopath. When she spoke to Henrik, she said something like well, we have not been affected so we do not really care about the victims.

StoptheRavelry · 15/12/2015 13:40

But who was it watching Asa from the car and putting chloroform on the cloth, before seeing the photos and changing their mind?

StoptheRavelry · 15/12/2015 13:41

Gosh we need a wall of string don't we Grin Have they not got one of those? There's some photos up i nthe police station but that's about it.

We need Molly Solverson!!!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 15/12/2015 13:46

But who was it watching Asa from the car and putting chloroform on the cloth, before seeing the photos and changing their mind?

Good point. What happened to the guy who got away? The one who was holding the conservative lady's daughter hostage? I missed half an episode at some point and let DH fill me in, but he missed a lot out cos on the next episode I had to ask him loads of questions about what was going on.

anonacfr · 15/12/2015 13:49

Emil born 1989 so not that much younger.

Anyone else bemused that they've totally given up on the copycat murder?

And how come the paparazzi GF didn't tell them about the fake pregnancy? She was interrogated at the police station about spying on the Holsts and yet decides no to reveal this hugely important piece of information that could be crucial to the case? You'd think she'd throw the photo in their faces!

I love the show and this is probably the best series but I am getting frustrated with all their interviews- they get fed half information and cryptic comments and NEVER EVER ask witnesses/suspects to elaborate.

Whatevva · 15/12/2015 13:52

I thought they had the Cleaner With the Spider (one of the multiple blonds in episodes 5/6) for the copycat murder, but they could not connect him to the others.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 15/12/2015 13:55

But he's still at large?

Whatevva · 15/12/2015 14:00

They got him after he took the daughter (the one whose coat was flushed down the loo at school in the beginning) hostage, and Saga came down through the loft hatch and hit him unconscious with her gun, unless that was a different blond young man.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 15/12/2015 14:02

Oh I must have missed all that. Anyway, I think I should stop thinking about this. I have housework to do! Grin

Whatevva · 15/12/2015 14:06

I really had to think about that Grin

There are so many twists and turns and people.

I don't want it to end, but it will. Looking forward to Saturday Wine

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 15/12/2015 14:39

Me too!!

quirkychick · 15/12/2015 14:40

I agree that Asa is suspicious after her comments to Henrik, but not sure how that would tie in with being followed in the yellow car with chloroform. What about one of the Holst's staff or security, they would have access to the art and know that Jeanette was there.

Also, the other foster child said they all suffered with the Johnssons(?) but Emily said that Annika was treated the worst, so inconsistent stories.

Is Annika the killer or has she been abducted and the crime scene put in her house? She hasn't been seen.

My head now hurts!

quirkychick · 15/12/2015 14:41

Emil, autocorrect!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 15/12/2015 15:55

Maybe the guy in the yellow car isn't the killer...maybe he knows who is and is trying to gain evidence or something?
