Series 2 about to start in France, but all I can find about it being shown here is that it will be in the autumn. Does anyone know any more?

Meanwhile, series 1 is 4OD, it's obviously my duty to watch it to remind myself of the background.

Wasn't Simon a given? Wink

I thought everyone fancied him.

Clawdy · 01/11/2015 18:39

Someone up thread mentioned this, but why if they are undead, and cannot be killed or injured, did Serge feel such pain when his horrible father trapped his hand in the vice?

MrsFring · 01/11/2015 19:09

Oh come on, who wouldn't be up for a Hannibal/Simon experience? I could always get a liver transplant. Totally worth it.

TheOrchardKeeper · 01/11/2015 20:11

I just presumed they can feel pain but not be actually killed since they're dead. Simon didn't look like he enjoyed being shot in season 1. And they feel hunger. I guess they're brains are still firing on all cylinders neurologically speaking, despite the undead thing?

Qwertybynature · 01/11/2015 21:54

Are they in purgatory? They cannot progress to the next level because of unresolved issues either by themselves or their family? So they are dead but are still vulnerable to earthly states (hunger, fear, lust)?

Bagsy the new inspector. Although he's not dead, is he?!

winewolfhowls · 01/11/2015 22:55

God I hope it's not one of those they are all dead in purgatory things like lost.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2015 23:39

Was me. I wondered about the pain?

And yes new police man sexy !!! But what's his secret ? He was there 35yrs ago when village flooded - so could have been a child or he was dead then so same age now iyswim esp as he arrived early ......

How did he drive there if village cut off and can only
Use helicopter ...,,

TheOrchardKeeper · 02/11/2015 08:45

I thought they reveled with Lena's dad that there was some sort of pattern to when new waves of dead were returning, depending on where they died and it's always an unnatural/odd death etc?

And I thought the helicopter comment was about evacuating the part of town the dead are now in?

It's hard to follow Halloween Shock but I love it anyway ha.

I think Victor & Lucy definitely play a central part to the whole thing. They're the only ones we now know have been around since before the others started returning en masse.

TheOrchardKeeper · 02/11/2015 08:47

There was a comment in one interview where the writers etc said they wouldn't pull a Lost on viewers. They better bloody not!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2015 09:54

Yes Lenas dad had some complex graph and seemed to think all would circle round and come back again - so assuming he doesn't know that camille and wife are living across the water ??

Qwertybynature · 02/11/2015 10:39

I really hope they don't Orchard that would be massively crap.

ThatsHowYouGetAnts · 02/11/2015 13:42

I'm as engrossed by this as I was by season 1.

Thought it was really well done how they introduced Milan. That whole scene when Serge walked in and saw him and they sat down across the table from each other. Hardly anything was said, but you could feel the fear radiating off Serge and you just knew this was a bad, bad, scary dude right here. Brilliant acting.

iwantgin · 02/11/2015 14:01

Yes Milan is a bad Un alright.

I thought Julie was going to leave. But she will be Returned won't she?

Wonder if Simon took his baby.

And yes, that new chief engineer fellow is v handsome. I think he isn't dead. Grin

Moln · 02/11/2015 16:39

Didn't the Lost writer say it wasn't purgatory then it actually was?

I shall be on the first boat to France if they do the same.

queenoftheworld93 · 03/11/2015 21:54

I heard an interesting theory that they only have trouble leaving the town when there is a returned zombie type with them. Hence why Julie/victor/etc couldn't leave together but the army and that girls parents could.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2015 21:58

girls parents are alive tho, so they can return anytime they want

ScrambledSmegs · 03/11/2015 22:13

Ah, 'allo mes amies. Comment ca va?

I've caught up and can now join in again. About as confused as I was last series (ie very) but have had some thoughts. Some are more like theories and probably way off base.

The dam doesn't seem so much homeopathic as malignant now.

Milan seems to have carried out some sort of murderous spree after the first dam burst? Anyway, sounded like he rationalised it as a purge of the evil that caused the dam to break.

So Milan killed Louis/Victor and his family. I may be way off but I suspect Victor was the main target and his family collateral damage. Probably due to his drawings that he's not supposed to do? Did he draw the storm/flood before it happened? People seem to not like him v much, even his mother. Apart from Julie of course.

There's something very 'off' about Victor. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the epicentre of all the weird shit. He reminds me a little of the scary girl in The Ring Shock

Qwertybynature · 03/11/2015 22:23

Oo interesting! I seem to remember that the police were patrolling and they couldn't leave in one episode (I think it was Adele's husband and a female colleague). Does this mean one (or more) of them was dead? Perhaps there were dead ones in the police who were guarding the town against the return of other dead ones, and they're the ones tied to the trees?

Aagghh it's all so confusing Confused

tilliebob · 06/11/2015 21:22

For the first time I'm a bit scared watching this on my tod, and I've never been before. I think it's this more sinister typical zombie type thing that I hate. It's spoiling some of the magic of the whole thing for me. I'm probably not explaining myself well but it's been a long week.

custardcreamdreams · 06/11/2015 22:29

I was thinking tonight about how strange it was that people standing doing nothing can be so creepy.

So Simon's parents are talking about something to do with a circle? Were they also involved in some sort of cult killing back then? Victor's pictures had a group of people shooting each other. Didn't Lena's dad mention a circle before, the helping hand people standing in a circle too?

I'm hoping all these little tidbits in every programme will start to come together soon.

winewolfhowls · 06/11/2015 22:40

I reckon pierre is the cult leader and Milan was in on it and somesort of enforcer who 'saved' people by killing them because they should have died in the original dam flood.

I want to know who Bergs dad is

winewolfhowls · 06/11/2015 22:43

And it does look like victors pictures come true because he had a drawing of the bus (camilles?) going over the hill, and he was surely long dead before it happened?

Or, it's a different bus and Victor doesn't make the people die but if he draws them they return ?

custardcreamdreams · 06/11/2015 23:08

I wondered if Victor had premonitions and drew them and the people from the villagers thought he was making them come true by drawing them iykwim. He came back when the bus went over as it swerved to avoid him on the road in the first episode.

No wonder poor Serge ended messed up with a dad like that and the things he did to him in the past. He seems to be redeeming himself as the series goes on.

Moln · 06/11/2015 23:28

I was trying to figure out with Berg s dad if he's one of the ones we've already seen, but then realised he didn't have to be that old as he could have died when Berg was a baby

I think Victor predicts in his drawing, because remember Julie's neighbour and the cats in the picture?

winewolfhowls · 06/11/2015 23:31

I don't remember about the cats?
