Sounds like a narrow escape indeed rich. Instead of waiting out on the fanfic you could always download the 2 brilliant stories Dance the Tide (discussed on here some time ago) and Sanctuary. Both 50+ chapters and both packed full of QS Grin. I've just finished Sanctuary and can't get the characters out of my head.

KellyHb · 20/07/2015 20:57

Yip mooj and rich just watched that trailer for the James Norton programme. Def QS alert. Trouble is since OG had certain QS scenes missing, every time I see some on TV I pretend its CJ and Molly. Sad I know.

Dizzy and Rhu when you were mentioning people call may name their kids Molly and Charles, I like to think we have a bit of OG in our house in so far as our son's called Sam and DH is called James (well not exactly Charles as a first name) but not far off. Smile

KellyHb · 20/07/2015 21:07

Have just read the extremely delectable RPJ is going to be in the Life In Squares programme and he looks gorgeous!!!

Ilovelblue · 20/07/2015 22:07

QS and RPJ - you've sold it to me. Just recorded all the programmes!

BK glad you enjoyed your quality time with CJ. We were worried where you'd gone without letting us know! I think you deserve some quality time with him though after escorting him around the country for the rest of us. Is he still fit for purpose though? I guess he's got a couple of weeks to recover....? Were you wanting him again towards the end of August - were you on a canal boat or have I imagined that? I have visions of him opening the locks for you.

Ilovelblue · 20/07/2015 22:14

We've a significant birthday coming up for one of my colleagues plus two leavers and I have nearly £220 in my bag - and none of it is mine! Why are men so utterly useless about buying presents and the like? It's not that I mind the actual buying of the present (as I know I make a better job of it than 99% of the guys) but sometimes I need some suggestions as to what we get. We have a 53 year old man leaving on voluntary redundancy next week. Sociable enough chap but a bit odd and I don't know much about his outside interests. It took eight of them to make a decision and then when another £10 turned up out of the blue, they argued as to how to spend it on another present. Give me strength!

KellyHb · 20/07/2015 22:34

Do you have a large shopping centre ilove near you? Just with us up here having the MetroCentre on our doorstep, buying someone MetroCentre vouchers is really handy as there are so many different shops that someone could use them in.

Buying for men is tricky at the best of time I find. I think vouchers are mostly my way to go. Sorry ilove probably not much help. It's just difficult if you don't know the person.

Ilovelblue · 20/07/2015 22:39

Our equivalent Kelly would be the Trafford Centre in Manchester and yes, they do vouchers like that, but my guess is he's not a shopper. In the end, we decided on a National Trust membership (to force him to go out - think he's a bit of a slob outside of work) and some M&S vouchers (to update his wardrobe). His immediate colleagues were useless but they made the decision..... eventually! I'm happy to get presents so long as I have a reasonable idea what I'm looking for but as you say, men aren't easy to buy for at the best of times. As long as he leaves knowing his colleagues valued him enough to donate nearly £100, I'm happy. I don't believe he's the most generous person when it comes to donating to others' gifts either!

apsara03 · 20/07/2015 22:43

Life on squares on planner here too. Will need it for when I finally finish Dance the tide

KellyHb · 20/07/2015 22:48

I love sneaky hints at gifts too. Years ago, when I lived at home, I remember buying my Dad new car washing kit for Christmas just so he had new stuff to wash my car with. I suppose I was a bit spoilt and never washed my car.

One present suggestion I was rather proud of but was over-ruled was when I used to work with a man who was desperate for a girlfriend and his birthday was coming up. He had lots of confidence going up to girls but they always knocked him back. I suggested a membership as a gift to a dating agency but like I said no-one liked the idea. He's still single and looking-bless him.

Bonjour tout le monde!

I've a confession to make - we arrived at the gite and discovered wifi had been installed since our previous stay. Cue delirious jubilation from dd and myself. However, I then with a degree of self control (which I wish I could exercise over my feeble attempts at diets) decided to hold out ... until now.

pixie is your latest the final chapter? You really have created such a hard act for series 2 to follow. I can't imagine enjoying it as much as I've loved reading your story.

always where are you flying into to? We've considered flying to Toulouse in the past, but I actually quite like the car journey cos we stop overnight and this year had some wonderful lunches, diverting off the autoroutes into villages.

I've perfected the art of rolling onto a lilo from poolside and assuming the fully unconscious position. Dp did suggest the legs akimbo straddling the lilo and trailing in the water look wasn't a good one strange, cos it's the one Rupert prefers

I think so far, ds back at home has refrained from turning our house into the number one nightclub spot in the area or the neighbourhood crack den. But it does feel odd without him grunting dismissively and unerringly picking the most expensive item on the restaurant menu Smile

icemistOBE · 21/07/2015 09:33

Bonjour mon ami Smile

Sitting listening to a computer expert talk about penetration testing why did my mind immediately skip to this thread? Oh dear!!

pixieg1rl · 21/07/2015 09:55

Felicitations pour votre wifi orphan. Oui, c'est la derniere chapter.

Right, that's my very poor French GCSE exercised to the maximum. I'm glad you will be able to keep up with the goings on between munching on Rupe's cream horn by the pool.

I'm working on the sequel now, I may need to pick the brains of any of you with 13 year olds to get Sam's hormonal monosyllabic grunts just right....

Alwaysfrank · 21/07/2015 14:14

Bonjour Orphan!

I too have a confession to make - i switched my phone contract to Three last week so that I can roam in France at no extra cost. Officially this is so I could keep an eye on emails, but we all know the real reason!

We fly to Beziers, and are staying on the coast nearby. I do normally enjoy the long drive too or would if it weren't for the bickering children in the back but it is a nice treat to fly. I love flying but hardly ever do these days.

Briefly back to the twin subject, it amuses me that so many of you with boy girl twins were asked if they were identical. I had the opposite thing of being continually asked "are they twins?" in the early years. At the risk of completely outing myself, I attach a picture from many moons ago which shows what an odd question this was!! Sadly they are not quite so cute these days though still have the same hair colour.

KellyHb · 21/07/2015 14:48

Bonjour orph. (That is literally the extent of my French knowledge!) Glad you're enjoying your holiday and the French cuisine. I feel like rolling onto a lilo now !myself as had an enormous Belgium bun from Greggs and now can't move for feeling sick Confused.

always love your twins photo. I like seeing pictures of other twin boys. You wouldn't believe how many times people have asked 'are they twins?' With mine you couldn't get two kids looking more alike!

Took DD to Newcastle today. My best laid plans was that I would take her to a museum and do a spot of shopping seeing as I only had her with me. In real life, we were only at the museum 10 minutes before she said she was starving so left there (she's diabetic so have to let her off) and then when we went to go round the shops, she was really tired and wanted to go home! So zero shopping done Envy

I was thinking imagine if BA was in that squared drama especially if he was in the sex scenes!!

Dizzydots · 21/07/2015 15:00

Lovely pic frank, so cute and so alike - are they twins though!! lol

pixieg1rl · 21/07/2015 15:11

I think people are a bit thick, I often get asked if my son is a girl (it's the blonde hair in a 70s bowl cut that does it).

cjwoofwoof · 21/07/2015 15:13

I'm a woman of many talents as dear Ian used to say - enjoy your break orph.

Loving all those twin stories and pics - sooo cute. Shame they'll grow up to be teenage monosyllabic terrors really. I was so huge with my second DS I had to have an extra scan as they thought it might be twins (my DH has twin sisters). He just turned out to be one big baby, and he's still got the appetite of a horse to this day.

KellyHb · 21/07/2015 16:33

Wow. Very impressive there with the French lingo woof.

Talking of twins, just picked mine up from private nursery and the staff said that the boys have been really confusing the staff today with who's who. I do dress them differently. One kept answering to the other ones name all day. I think they gave up trying to figure it out by the end of the session. You'd think after 2 months, they may have worked that out by now. Confused

They peeved me off royally today though. As I walked in the door to pick them up, the staff were scrambling all of a sudden to change both boys pull up nappies. When I got them into the car, I noticed one twin's trousers were soaking. They mustn't have changed them all day! It makes me wonder why I'm paying good money for that sort of going on.Angry

orphan · 21/07/2015 18:22

Salut woof! Je profite du temps de qualité avec Rupert en ce moment - je suis beurrer sa baguette. Et les gendarmes vous envoient leur amour et de baisers.

Unfortunately despite our years in the Bastille, my French isn't up to detailing exactly what else they would like to send you. Obviously whilst you were engaging in language lessons with our captors, I'd moved straight on to practicals.

moojangles · 21/07/2015 18:40

And which translation of baiser are we using here?!!

moojangles · 21/07/2015 19:07

everybodydance fantastic new chapter, QStastic!

pixieg1rl · 21/07/2015 19:11

THAT wasn't on my French syllabus

Richtea19 · 21/07/2015 19:23

Bonjour orphan lucky you with wifi.

frank I might go to my mobile provider and see what they can do for free roaming! This is addictive, however I don't want to let on to the kids I can't cope without wifi! Cute photo too.

Well day two of school hols and it's like a half way house for teenagers. Zero food left in the fridge/freezer :(
