Anyone watching?

Am very intrigued to see how this goes..

OP posts:
Koalafications · 24/07/2015 10:04

Im just not convinced that what we saw was an accurate reflection of their time together.

Why did we not see this party?

Based in Jason's facebook I would say that he seems a bit immature and those memes would suggest he's a bit of a twat too!

InTheBox · 24/07/2015 10:08

Gah! After last week's episode I thought only Jason and Kate had a chance at it working. He seemed absolutely smitten. I agree that it's been edited to suit the storyline but that poor Kate, she seemed genuine.

SouthWestmom · 24/07/2015 10:09

The whole scoring out suggestions he's gay seems to be veering towards a witch hunt.
Why does he have to be gay just because he didn't fancy her? I don't fancy David Beckham - so what?

SwedishEdith · 24/07/2015 10:10

living with other cool people is key!!! Ha ha ha. No-one who was actually cool would ever say anything like that.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 24/07/2015 10:33

I agree that he's trying very hard to be something he isn't. Whether that's cool, heterosexual, middle class or a telly star, who knows. Whatever the editing, the Tinder profile and not turning up are not good. Everyone else came out of this pretty well. If he'd let her down gently and not been back on the market so quickly he might have done so too.

starlight2007 · 24/07/2015 10:35

To me he seemed very weak...We didn't see enough to make a judgement ..however what I didn't like is he didn't come to the psychology session , his honesty seems to be very lacking..I saw them on this morning and had decided they didn't make it from the very begining

knittingdad · 24/07/2015 10:42

Koala - Have you seen the quotes in the Daily Mail? He appears to have given them an interview. For example, he tells them that:

"I made a decision after the honeymoon to end things."

But he didn't tell Kate that. And that was the honeymoon he cut short to go back to work.

The programme did show a more positive bit of when they were together on a sofa after dinner out. It's not like it was unremittingly bad.

hollyisalovelyname · 24/07/2015 10:45

Well this proved 'what do I know'
I thought Kate and Jason were a better bet than Emma and James Grin
Good job I'm not a gambler.
Jason treated Kate shabbily. If he were my son I would be disappointed in his behaviour. Not to turn up to meetings, Tinder etc.
I don't like the comments on here re his sexuality.
Enma shouldn't have had her hair up for the wedding, she's prettier with it down- this should be in Style and Beauty section.
James seems really nice.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/07/2015 11:49

'Living with other cool people'

Oh dearHmm

The80sweregreat · 24/07/2015 12:02

I was shocked as dh and I were convinced that Emma and james wouldn't last and the other two would! Jason did seem to really like her, they seemed a good match. I am glad I didn't put any money on it either! goes to show how people can surprise you. I really liked James ..

grahamnortonsbeard · 24/07/2015 12:06

I LOVED James. So funny and such a sweetie. If he and Emma do split up, women will be queuing. I hope she realises just how lovely he is!

MitzyLeFrouf · 24/07/2015 12:07

Still a distinct lack of sexual chemistry between James and Emma.

The80sweregreat · 24/07/2015 12:35

james is lovely - he really tried so hard to get to know the real Emma, but she is holding back ( really hurt in other relationships is my guess, but I didn't see the very first episode so just speculation on my part) I am sure going on the programme wont do either of them much harm if they do split up. Jason , on the other hand, will struggle now!!

MitzyLeFrouf · 24/07/2015 12:39

I think Jason was very immature to act as he did but I can't feel too outraged about it as it wasn't a real marriage. He was just a bit of a dick to someone he'd known for a fortnight. Clearly he was in it for a bit of attention and for the air time.

The80sweregreat · 24/07/2015 12:49

it was odd how mean he was to Kate when he previously seemed to be very into her and they seemed to get along much better than the other two did! To treat someone that bad, knowing that a few million people will be tuning in ( not to mention his family, friends etc) was very odd. Unless other things happened that they decided not to show.. poor girl.
I remember a one off show in the early 90s where a northern local radio show did a similar thing, they split up too. Science and love do not mix it seems.

MitzyLeFrouf · 24/07/2015 12:52

The80s the bride from that radio show ended up marrying Jeremy Kyle! Truly a fate worse than death.

The80sweregreat · 24/07/2015 13:48

Thats right, i read that on here last week. She was blond, thats all i can remember. Channel 4 like their 'social experiments' !

MomentOfWonder · 24/07/2015 15:58

It did feel like a six-part series squeezed into three episodes - perhaps because people dropped out so they lost so much material? It was a shame though-as other posters have said the fact that the whole matching process was just touched on was pretty unsatisfying, and in general it seemed to lack the depth to make it really compelling. Clearly I expect a lot from my reality TV...

Koalafications · 24/07/2015 16:07

I agree Moment. I felt that each episode could have focused on one couple.

fabuLou · 24/07/2015 16:23

Kate if your reading this i know shes not before you lot start

You had a very lucky escape. You are a beautiful lady and any man wouldbe lucky to have you. Don't give jason of the arseholes another thought. I hope you didn't sleep with him as you'll be free sooner.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/07/2015 18:14

I don't think Emma was necessarily really hurt in previous relationships, I think ' at a distance' might just be her natural default. She reminds me of how I act.

Koalafications · 24/07/2015 18:25

Yes, I felt the same way Dame. When the psychologist described her, I thought 'yes, that's me!'

AmberFool · 24/07/2015 18:37

I noticed the "I couldn't keep it up" comment, although he was talking about not being attracted physically to Kate. I dunno, I thought he was REALLY into her in the previous episode and upthread I did say he seemed a bit sleazy. I wonder if he just couldn't perform and just shut down? Or he expected a physical relationship but got pissed off that they didn't have sex. Who knows? End result still the same -he was a sleazy twat. Kate on the otherhand, absolutely lovely.

How cute were James and Emma this week? There is definite friendship and respect there. It's nice that they are still married and they are taking things at a slower pace.

Koalafications · 24/07/2015 18:38

Amber I got the impression that Kate tried to initiate sex and he refused.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/07/2015 18:41

I don't think James could get it up and got pissed off. I wonder if he is a big drinker and that's one of the reasons why Kate said no to the champagne as he wanted to use it as an excuse not to sleep with her. I think there was some serious editing, I think 'something happened' and it ended up one the cutting floor.
