Never camped in my life and have no intention of ever doing so. Only stayed in a caravan a few years ago too.

cjwoofwoof · 14/05/2015 13:30

Hate camping but certainly wouldn't say no to a share of CJs tent Grin

Richtea19 · 14/05/2015 13:40

nickel hope all goes well with the camping, weather looks like it's going to be ok. Camping..... I like the thought of it, but in reality where would I plug my hairdryer and straightners?? No don't think its for me. I sent DH on a cub camp once with DS and bought him a £5.00 pop up tent from Tesco (I'm so generous!) I wasn't very popular as it rained all weekend and he couldn't get off the camp site to go to the pub!! I'm sure it was revenge for something Grin

I second what everyone has said re. The NHS. I know we all seem to moan about waiting times etc, but we are so lucky to have it. I can now see from work how much pressure the doctors and nurses are under withnthe legislation and contraints they have to deal with. When my eldest was 5 he had a prolapsed rectum. 3 operation until he was 13, with masses of appointments etc on the way. His consultant, or GOD as we referred to him! Was amazing. He had a private clinic too, but I can honestly say he treated DS like we were paying thousands. Anyway, long live the NHS, but a bit more money pumped in would be good!

painted what are you up to today?

cjwoofwoof · 14/05/2015 14:22

Dance has updated with a great new chapter including smut - hurrah!

orphan · 14/05/2015 14:51

The bit I liked about camping was the bacon butties in the morning cooked outside, looking out over a beautiful view. But tbh it all seemed an immense effort. We only did it cos I was convinced I was depriving our children of a wonderful family experience. Turns out ds hates it (never went beyond bronze DofE ) and for dd the novelty soon wore off. And I hadn't realised how unsound proof canvas is!! However, camping with CJ is another matter...bet he knows what to do with a tent pole...

Nickel45 · 14/05/2015 15:06

Camping with CJ .... yes please .... I wouldn't need to pack the three extra blankets then, would I! What's he up to this weekend? Although, like you say, must remember there is no soundproofing in tents (luckily we are camping almost under a noisy by-pass so nobody will be able to hear anything anyway!)

BK28 · 14/05/2015 15:14

jen really sorry to hear about littleones foot, only breakage in this house was my kneecap!! And have to agree re NHS comments...on the whole we would miss it if it wasn't there !!
nickel know what you mean about a houseful of kit...with all of us here involved in scouting that is pretty much a permanent state for my home!! N.B warm layers, good supply of hot drinks and most of all have FUN!!!
Emergency cub camp planning meeting last night...worked out that we probably still had about 90% of my mental checklist still to do before next Friday!!! Not panicking!! Honest it does get easier with time!!

Was well jealous of those Alliums!! Mine have seemed to have disappeared this year!! But greenhouse is filling up nicely with this years fuschias!! Hopefully we will get a summer with sunshine!!

Onlygirljen · 14/05/2015 17:28

Thanks for the well wishes for the littlest. He really is remarkably cheery about the whole thing, I can guarantee if it was big brother we'd be hearing a lot more about it. Think the biggest challenge will be keeping the cast dry!

Totally agree about the NHS - we are lucky enough to have a world class kids hospital here, and they were just as brilliant last night as they have been in the past. He's had his share of health issues since birth, and the doctors and nurses always been amazing.

Good luck for camping nickel! I'm so not cut out for such activities. Don't think I'd cut it in the wilderness without hot water or electricity!

SoEverybodyDance · 14/05/2015 17:34

Dear Jen, so sorry to hear about your little one's misfortune. Hopefully a bit of attention and cast drawing will help you through the difficult parts!

We have to visit A&E quite frequently for my little boy who has an illness that can become life threatening if it is not dealt with promptly. They have always been wonderful with us and I dread to think of the future.

Ilove loved reading about your plant sale raising money - you must have done such a lot of work. I am terrible with seeds. They never seem to last!

SoEverybodyDance · 14/05/2015 17:42

Woof, thanks for your lovely review and shout out on here of That's an Order. I am panicking a bit about the story as having re-rated it for smut, FF's restrictions have made it hard to find and quite a few people have written to say they can't find it!

If anyone's FF links don't work, then here it is www.fanfiction.net/s/11247851/9/That-s-an-order-includes-smutty-chapters

Dance

Ilovelblue · 14/05/2015 18:39

Dance I can germinate seeds fine but do find them a pain when pricking out as they take up such a lot of room and I don't have heat in my greenhouse which means having them in the house. I tend to do my stock for the charity sale with propagation, root cuttings etc. In the end, we made £325 which is a very pleasing amount. We do something on a smaller scale in about three weeks - summer planters and the like - but fortunately there's not the same amount of planning needing to go into it.

What I must do this weekend is clean up. I've ignored housework for the last two weekends due to being in Edinburgh and sorting out my plants!

I loved your latest upload. You know us, we can take any amount of smut on here! What would we all be like if CJ told us to take off our clothes? I can only begin to imagine..........

orphan · 14/05/2015 18:54

dance great update but you've really left us needing the next one!

ilove I really enjoy visiting NGS gardens, as much because I'm nosy and it's a great way to see some gorgeous private properties, as for the gardens themselves. And some do wonderful cakes as well...

orphan · 14/05/2015 18:56

You aren't tempted to open your garden? You're a dab hand at the cakes as well!

pixieg1rl · 14/05/2015 19:09

I've got terrible euphemismitis, giggling stupidly at 'open your garden'

Ilovelblue · 14/05/2015 19:10

orphan I sort of am tempted to open it. Not for the NGS, they seem to be very strict in their requirements and to be honest, a bit up themselves, but my local area do one at the end of June where there are about a dozen houses which all open their gardens. You are given a map and work your way round, probably all in a 2-3 mile radius. A friend really wants me to do it but I think it's because she wants to serve tea and cakes! I know of two people who've done it but it seems to be quite stressful and there is always a worry that somebody will come round, case the joint and nick half the unusual plants, ornaments and the like. The Red Cross do something similar and I suppose you could throw it open for any charity of your choice but at least with the local one or the Red Cross etc, they sort out the advertising for you.

Ilovelblue · 14/05/2015 19:11

Hey, tell you what, I would open my garden (euphemism or not) if CJ were on hand to assist. Reckon he'd bring in the punters, don't you?

orphan · 14/05/2015 19:30

Hee hee pixie CJ's certainly welcome to visit my garden (open all hours) and rootle through my shrubbery.

ilove the ones where several gardens in a village are open are my favourite as it's amazing the variety you get.

SoEverybodyDance · 14/05/2015 20:35

Ilove I know I can count on all of you smut lovers and garden exhibitionists on here to raise eyebrows, but the FF site is not quite so accommodating. Although I'm not sure how they'd know, thinking about it, unless someone complained! Can't think who'd complain about smut with CJ!

I think I have a very good idea of what we'd all be like if CJ ordered us out of our clothes! Thank you for the funny image, it made me giggle...

Think someone ought to arrange a CJ garden tour, plenty here seem willing to open their gardens to accommodate...

orphan sorry to tease, you'll just have to wait out on this one.

Jen looking forward to your latest chapter tonight! A treat!

icemistOBE · 14/05/2015 20:44

Loved the chapter jen

dance I really enjoy yours too and am looking forward to reading more

OP posts:
pixieg1rl · 14/05/2015 20:56

Have you had a complaint from FF dance?

I don't think they like you to publish something more than once, so maybe when you republished the story for the smut it triggered that you had published the same chapters twice. I'd say either stick with one story and change the rating to M or publish just the smutty chapters on their own.

Onlygirljen · 14/05/2015 21:07

Evening! Thanks ice and dance -
I feel really weird having finally finished it! Looking forward to catching up on reading, including dance's smut.

Oh and my lady garden is open for CJ at all times, as I'm sure you know Grin

Richtea19 · 14/05/2015 21:19

Great loads of new FF for bedtime reading, what a treat. I did laugh at "CJ opening your garden"!

Nickel45 · 14/05/2015 21:41

Dance your new chapter is fab. The notifications came through OK and I could find OK on ff too! Any amount of smut is fine with me .... Blush. Love the banter between two section too, makes me smile :)

jen I can't believe In the Long Run has finished :( What a brilliant story, I have enjoyed every word, and such a perfect ending. Thank you so much. Are you planning another one, or having a rest (well, a literary rest .... obviously not a real rest!).

Nickel45 · 14/05/2015 21:44
