Grin Anyone else counting down the days! I actually get nervous thinking about it. I have re watched all series and reading the books to pass the time.

Can't wait to see what they do with Sansa and Tyrion this series. And will we see the hound again and lady stone heart?

Episode 6 discussion and spoilers

(We set the alarm to watch it before the children got up. DP away tonight). I thought this was a good episode, things finally start to move.

Arya - good, this is going somewhere now.

Everyone in Dorne - this is interesting. Firstly, it skipped a big bit of the books (thank god) and now we've got an interesting situation with Jamie being over there.

Tyrion and Jorah - again, nicely speeding things up and a good bit of character development.

Everyone in Kings Landing - Welcome return for one key character and loved the interaction between her and Cersei. Also, good to see my favourite Littlefinger accent return, even if it couldn't stick around for long. The women are ruling the show for me in Kings Landing. I find Cersei a fascinating character.

Everyone in Winterfell. Difficult one to write about. I'm just not sure about everything going on there. I have a mini-observation about the bathing scene which should have given me a heads up. But it didn't Sad

GentlyBenevolent · 18/05/2015 08:31

Excellent episode. I love that NOW TV makes it available for breakfast viewing. Am assuming the Brin singing scene was a shout out to book readers AND a spoiler for the next episode. Tyrion and Jorah were good too. Mr Eko was as annoying as ever clearky he is typecast in whatever show he appears. Lovely smile though.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 18/05/2015 10:58

I am finding myself wanting to shout 'Get on with it!' a little. Whatever they're building towards better be good because they've built and built and built but the story doesn't really seem to have gone far.

This ep:

Still can't stand Arya, want to slap her and find her tedious at the same time

Tyrion and Jorah, liking their double act but their story is exactly what I though would happen. Love how Tyrion can still talk his way out of a corner, though Grin

Love Jamie and Bronn still but the Sand Snakes are proper rubbish, very disappointed

King's Landing - the consequences of Cercei's actions are going to be very, very bad for her. She is not as clever as she thinks. I was Shock when the witness turned up should have seen it coming though, duh and didn't expect them to arrest a second person...the character who has returned is hopefully going to kick a whole load of arse!

Sansa's storyline was horrible but exactly what I expected, which was almost a let down as I hoped they would do something nobody would see coming. Ah well, let's see what happens next week

Abraid2 · 18/05/2015 11:17

I actually rather hate all the rape/wedding night scenes.

I hope Sansa and THeon gang up together (when he tells her he didn't kill herbrothers) and murder Ramsay. And Meranda.

Loved Tyrion and Jorah. I have a bit of a softness for Jorah.

Vivacia · 18/05/2015 11:28

I agree that the Sand Snakes are a very poor version of their book counterparts.

The rape scenes are awful, just feel gratuitous and exploitative and some of the american forums are full of men getting all excited about how realistic and normal and to-be-expected it all is, besides it's not technically rape really is it.

FatWalda · 18/05/2015 11:38

I thought the Sand Snakes were pretty crap in the books too. There are too many of them, one fighty one would have been enough for me. The only one that interests me is not in Dorne, and it's too soon to know if she'll be included in the show.

Gently Who's Mr Eko?

GentlyBenevolent · 18/05/2015 11:43

FatWalda he was playing the leader of the slavers. He was in Lost.

FatWalda · 18/05/2015 11:59

Thanks. Never watched Lost, so I wouldn't know.

Actually I thought it was going to be Salladhor Saan at first!

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 18/05/2015 12:35

I do hope the abuse of Sansa doesn't just become for the sake of it. She's endured it before and came out a different person, so the last thing I want to see is that all over again. Hopefully she will find a way to rally some troops loyal to her father to help her kick the ever loving shite out of Ramsey!

Been thinking about the interrogation scene. I was Sad at the mention if the armour wearing, I had forgotten he did that and what with having to deny his love, he looked so despondent. When he went for the witness, I thought he felt really betrayed, but then he never was the brightest. He should be more like the rest if his family and trust no one!

ILikeToClean · 18/05/2015 13:51

Just watched. Loved Bronn's "for fuck's sake" before he had to fight.
Dorne looks beautiful.

Really wanted Theon to kill Ramsay. Was hoping he or Sansa would have some sort of weapon between them. I think it was more effective showing Theon's reaction to the rape rather than the act itself.

Still have no clue what's going on with Arya but good to see her looking cleaner and girlier Smile

And yes, Mr Eko! Was wondering where I knew him from!

FatWalda · 18/05/2015 13:53

Loras is stupid. It was his word and Margaery's against Olyvar's. All he had to say was that Olyvar would have seen his birthmark when he was acting as Loras's squire, helping him dress and put on armour.

limitedperiodonly · 18/05/2015 14:23

That's what I thought FatWalda. It probably wouldn't have been enough, because the High Sparrow was determined, but I expected it to have been said if not by Loras then by Olenna.

It would be silly if that explanation didn't come up in the subsequent trial with Loras claiming that Olyvar was getting revenge for being spurned. Having confessed to being gay, presumably he'd be in trouble. Loras could lay on all that rubbish about spurned gay men being spiteful and jealous and be believed by a lot of people. Under the circumstances he'd be justified in saying anything to save his skin.

Vivacia · 18/05/2015 14:27

What do you think about Baelish's plan - whose side is he on?

(Also, saying the knights of the Vale are on their way kind of makes the Bolton vs Baratheon battle a bit pointless).

limitedperiodonly · 18/05/2015 14:32

Loved Bronn's "for fuck's sake"

Me too. The Sand Snakes are rubbish though. And Bronn and Jaime looked like they'd stumbled in from Carry On Follow That Camel.

I'm all for Girl Power but these are seasoned knights we're talking about. They would have literally made mincemeat of them - even Jaime with his wrong hand.

A punch in the face from someone Bronn's size would have floored the average woman. Maybe not Brienne, but she's not the average woman.

limitedperiodonly · 18/05/2015 14:35

I can only guess that Littlefinger is on his own side. For all his protestations of love for Catelyn, perhaps he resents being treated as a poor relation by the Tullys and seethes with righteous rage.

limitedperiodonly · 18/05/2015 14:36

Bit like the flipside of Theon who I think does regret turning on the Starks, and not just because of what's happened to him since.

FatWalda · 18/05/2015 14:43

Olyvar was running LF's brothel, wasn't he, so clearly he's been promised absolution by the High Sparrow if he testified against Loras & Margaery.

GentlyBenevolent · 18/05/2015 14:49

Vivacia The knights of the Vale aren't all that. Especially not if they are fighting in the North. In the snow.

Littlefinger is just climbing that ladder.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 18/05/2015 14:58

Well I watched it. Sad for Sansa but not surprised. Reek's response was interesting - showed that he has retained some humanity and feeling for Sansa so maybe theon isn't completely obliterated. I'm hoping that with the way they are racing through the storylines Sansa won't have to endure Ramsay for much longer and stannis or whoever will turn up and rescue her.
I liked the arya bit and it was interesting to see that she was lying about hating the hound.
No Jon snurr :(
Cercei needs her comeuppance pronto.

Vivacia · 18/05/2015 15:00

The knights of the Vale aren't all that.

Were you tempted to put "HTH" at the end of your post? Grin

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 18/05/2015 16:39

Loras is stupid

Yes, yes he is. Dumb as a bag of bricks but he does seem to have a good heart. His sister has a good heart too but is way more savvy. It's his fault that Renly is dead in the first place, as he was the one who convinced him orally to try for the throne when he had no right to it. The women have the brains in that family, for sure!

I did wonder in previous episodes why Olyvar wasn't being arrested or attacked (apart from being punched once as a general bystander) at the brothels when he was clearly in charge, but patrons were being humiliated and killed. It makes me wonder if Littlefinger had a hand in the raids and is engineering something behind the Tyrells' backs! Olyvar originally went after Loras when he was informing for either LF or Varys, so I wonder if he has been LF's mole in the court all this time and has been sleeping with Loras as a way in. Why wasn't LF being interrogated, given that he is responsible for supplying prostitutes for what, in their eyes, is devious sexual behaviour?

I worry for Loras and Margaery - remember the scene where she told Joffrey that Renly didn't want to have sex with her apart from one time where she implied he wanted to try anal? She played it innocently but obviously knew he was gay. And we know she knew he was in a relationship with her brother. I wonder if Joffrey told Cercei about this and if this will be brought up at trial?

FatWalda · 18/05/2015 17:14

More to the point, Lancel has confessed his sins to the High Sparrow, including his affair with Cersei, so the HS will already know about her fornication, and no doubt Lancel mentioned the incest as well, so she's done for.

GentlyBenevolent · 18/05/2015 17:18

One can assume that, in the telly version at least, Loras was doing what his grandmother had told him to do when he persuaded Renly to try for the throne.

Trills · 18/05/2015 20:11

Episode 6.

This means we're more than halfway through :(

MelodyAngel · 18/05/2015 21:08

Haven't read the thread as we don't have sky and don't want spoilers. Have read the books desperate to see season 5. Have to wait until out on Amazon Instant.
Please tell me it's good.
