we love eton road too

2ShOOOOHSandAHHHHs · 04/11/2006 22:12

i think eton road should win
love ben best but don't think he will win(like taffy a couple of years back)

Earlybird · 04/11/2006 22:17

So, I missed the whole show tonight. Can someone fill me in on the details? Who were the bottom two? What happened when Ashley was voted off? Someone said Simon was angry - what exactly happened?

PennyForTheGuy · 04/11/2006 23:06

Angry isn't the word! The looks he was throwing Louis would kill a horse at a 100 paces! I can't decide whether I'd like to be privy to the barney that surely ensued, or not!! I think there may have been an element of Louis wanting to get rid of one of Simon's acts, as Simon had all four left, and although Ashley hasn't done too well the last couple of weeks, he may have been good in the weeks to come. The irony is that Robert probably won't be there much longer anyway, as the public have put him in the bottom two twice now. Personally, I like him. Leona was fab again, I'm glad the public saw sense and kept Nikitta, as she's good, and Abba isn't easy at the best of times. The public obviously like McDonald Bros. too. I wish Ben would go, I can't stand him. What was all that about to Simon: "I'd like you to commission my album from pop to rock." Album? What album? What a jumped up bigheaded ...

StrawberryMoon · 04/11/2006 23:09

missed it tonight..so ashley went?

PennyForTheGuy · 04/11/2006 23:23

Indeed he did, and Simon was looking murderous! Ha!

Furball · 05/11/2006 07:23

2shoes - obviously taffy was very rememberable! His name was taBBy!

MrsFish · 05/11/2006 09:12

So glad Ashley went, I don't rate him at all, would certainly not buy any of his records, all I can think of when I hear him is kermit the frog.

Thought Eton Rd were very good. Simon was deffo a bit of a tw@t last night, sore loser.

mears · 05/11/2006 12:17

What is the story about Robert in the press this week - does anyone know? He really was subdues.

Simon threw his rattle out the pram and didn't join the other two judges in the post show interview on ITV2 - they were mad!

Don't worry folks - the McDonalds will not win - I thought before the show they would be out last night but Nikita was bad and so was Ashley. I thought Nikita and Robert would be in the bottom 2 but the public telephone vote agreed with Louis, decision to send Ashley home.

What is the theme next week?

PennyForTheGuy · 05/11/2006 13:26

They haven't said, have they, what the theme is next week. Think Robert's 'shame' in the press is something to do with cocaine and sex. Saw a quick clip on the telly last night for News Of The World, and it said something to that effect. No doubt he was all subdued and tearful as probably his wife knows nothing of it...

I'm glad Nikitta stayed. She's not the first to murder Dancing Queen. You should hear me on the Karaoke. I think Simon needs to start being more professional. Louis made the decision that he felt was right.

tiredemma · 05/11/2006 13:39

robert cocaine and sex? i thought that was ben??

I saw in a paper the other day (the sun ) some critic ( Ally Ross v. v. funny) said something nasty about roberts partner, he said that the week before that robert had resorted to bribery for votes saying that he needed to win to feed his unborn child ( what robert had said jokingly the week before)- Ally ross said that by judging by the size of roberts partner, no child in that house would be expected to go hungry.

maybe thats why he was upset??

PennyForTheGuy · 05/11/2006 17:38

I saw that too! She is a size, though, and not just because she's preggers. Yeah, I can understand Robert being upset by that. Ally Ross also said that "Ray's been waiting three weeks to sing Ain't that a kick in the head. Which is precisely the amount of time I've been waiting to deliver him one." Had to admit, I had a chuckle at that. Had a quick shufty at the tabloids in Woolies earlier, couldn't see anything about Robert, but there was something drug related or something along those lines, about Anthony from Eton Road.

Yeah cocaine and sex is/was (whatever) Ben. I think there's someting distinctly rat-like about him.

JoolsToo · 05/11/2006 17:48

Am shocked week after week about the McDougals they don't even make the bottom two.

I know the Scots are a loyal people but come on - they are dire.

Ashley was rubbish but disagree about Simon - only one tw@t on that panel and that's Louis - he's left with a crapola Scottish duo and a band who are fabola but who he didn't actually pick until he was forced to.

Do you think Bjorn was talking about Ray when he thought he was talking about Ben - I'd hardly describe Ben as having a cute voice!

Naughtynoonoo · 05/11/2006 17:53

I haven't watched the 2nd bit yet, so it was between Robert and Ashley hmm thought it would be Ashley. Somebody mentioned Simon and Leona, I got the impression that their relationship may be something more than professional, he always looks like the cat whose got the cream when she is about.

SO come on then, whats the bets on who is gonna go next week. I think it will be the McDougal Brothers.

Agree that this series hasn't got the same buzz about it this year. Anybody know what the music is gonna be next week??

PennyForTheGuy · 05/11/2006 18:45

I'm dying to know what it is next week. What do they usually have? big band, they've done, Rod Stewart, Tony Bennett, Abba, hey, it might be disco! Do we really think Simon's playing hide the sausage with Leona? I dunno, I think he's just got a thing for girls like her. She looks a bit like his girlfriend. If he's still got the girlfriend that is. I think Simon's smug that Leona's in his group and she's a potential winner. Yeah, it's odd about the McDonald Brothers, however, the public seem to like them. I think they're nice lads, although no great shakes in the singing department.

anniebear · 05/11/2006 19:43

as soon as simon slates the mac brothers people will pick up the phone and vote

mears · 05/11/2006 22:34

The theme next week is love songs (according to TV guide) and Julio Eglesias is guesting. He doesn't have enough decent hits for them to sing his songs (hopefully).
If Robert has been naughty he may well end up in the bottom 2 again. If the McDonalds get in the bottom two they know they will definitely be out - I have a funny feeling they will be staying .

LieselVonTrapp · 05/11/2006 22:41

I dont think Leonas a potential winner - shes devoid of personality

PennySweet · 06/11/2006 18:25

She may not appear to have a lot of personality (Leona) but I put that down to shyness. I think she is a potential winner, she's definately one of the best on there, if not the best. It would be nice to see a girl winner this year. Julio Iglesias? Oh, I'll get the bucket now, then.

anniebear · 07/11/2006 09:53

Not much personality but fantastic voice

Funny isn't it. I would buy a cd , don't rally know the persons personality but who cares

yet on the X Factor ect your personality comes into it lots

Flamesparrow · 07/11/2006 10:07

At least love songs there is much more range for them to do a style tht suits them...

mears · 11/11/2006 11:22

Well it won't br long till the show is back on.

The McDonald brothers had a visit home this week and were knocked out by the support they have from home. As I have said before, they are not being able to shine in this competition at all. There is underhand skullduggery in the selection of songs let me tell you. Poor boys are not that happy about it themselves I have heard.
After hearing what goes on behind the scenes, they will certainly be getting my vote for their persistance!!
Simon has the main say over what the performance of all the artists will be each week. I think they are set up for a fall every week - makes good viewing but it is a real shame for them.

Ayrshire will be voting en masse again so be prepared

I think Ray or Robert might be out tonight. Ray is 'swinging' again.
