Is anyone else looking forward to this? It is going to be shown on Sunday nights once the present series of 'Call the Midwife' has finished.

I loved the original series even though the story did stray from the books a bit. I wonder how this one will go. I understand Robin Ellis has a bit part in the new version as the Reverend Halse.

I rewound....sounded a bit crunchy. But I don't really get how he didn't notice...

NickiFury · 19/04/2015 21:39

I'm only on episode 5. Verity is so wet. She's beginning to get right on my wick.

squoosh · 19/04/2015 21:39

I'm not sure about this Blamey. Verity should have found a nice vicar with a quiet country parish.

squoosh · 19/04/2015 21:40

Is the doctor going to turn evil??

squoosh · 19/04/2015 21:45

If I were Elizabeth I'd arrange for Beaker to accidentally trip and fall down the stairs thus tragically snapping his neck. Couldn't be doing with his histrionics.

hideandseekpig · 19/04/2015 21:46

Surely not!

Travelledtheworld · 19/04/2015 21:48

Ooh this is a getting a bit tense.....

squoosh · 19/04/2015 21:50

Those uniforms are so sexy. I'm a bit like Mrs Bennet, love a man in those red regimentals.

hideandseekpig · 19/04/2015 21:50

The music is putting me on edge!

hideandseekpig · 19/04/2015 21:50

And I do wish Francis would stop shouting.

AmIthatHot · 19/04/2015 21:51

Is that captain meant to be Scottish? His accent is awful

hideandseekpig · 19/04/2015 21:52

I'm still not sure how you accidently break a neck Confused

squoosh · 19/04/2015 21:54

His arms were around her waist from what I could see.

Travelledtheworld · 19/04/2015 21:59

Final episode next week !

Softcookie · 19/04/2015 22:02

i'm in tears! what a tragic episode and poor Demelza... I cannot stand for Ross not to love her any more... she was distraught and humiliated... clearly the blame for this whole tragic mess lies squarely on Francis for selling everyone out to the Warleggans? So unfair that she alone gets to shoulder the blame :(

and that teaser for the final episode, please tell me that when Ross says "the love of my life" he means Demelza and not Elizabeth because I WILL DIE if it isn't.

I'm genuinely upset about all this,

nannyj · 19/04/2015 22:05

I'm reading the books so know what happens but I'm still on the edge of my seat!

hideandseekpig · 19/04/2015 22:06

He must mean demelza when he says the love of his life. He must!

Poor demelza she didn't mean any harm at all. I just wanted him to give her a hug and say it's ok Sad I'm too much of a softie for an episode like that!

squoosh · 19/04/2015 22:10

Nah, Elizabeth is his true love.

Demelza is just exasperating.

Softcookie · 19/04/2015 22:12

sqoossh thats harsh Sad

#teamdemelza

theconstantvacuumer · 19/04/2015 22:13

Elizabeth is a big wet lettuce with silly hair!

Team Demelza here!

hideandseekpig · 19/04/2015 22:13

I do like Elizabeth. But I like Demelza more!

theconstantvacuumer · 19/04/2015 22:13

Cross post!

Sunnymeg · 19/04/2015 22:14

In the book and in the original series, Mark was meant to be a gentle giant who didn't know his own strength and was therefore distraught at Keren's accidental death. Its a pity that they cut out him asking Ross to give her a proper grave with a headstone, it was so sad.

Oh and you'll need tissues for next weeks episode!

Demelza is a gormless bumpkin whose mouth is always hanging open.

Elizabeth has all my sympathy, getting on with her life stuck with that useless husband when she could have had Ross.

theconstantvacuumer · 19/04/2015 22:16

She chose Beaker over Ross. And is therefore a fool!
