Is anyone else looking forward to this? It is going to be shown on Sunday nights once the present series of 'Call the Midwife' has finished.

I loved the original series even though the story did stray from the books a bit. I wonder how this one will go. I understand Robin Ellis has a bit part in the new version as the Reverend Halse.

His hotness is almost unquantifiable. I can barely breathe.

Sallystyle · 29/03/2015 22:03

Ahhh he loves her!!

I read the spoiler above. That just can't happen can it?

MirrorMirror · 29/03/2015 22:11

I think I just swoonedBlushAT is just too scrumptious for wordsGrin

northender · 29/03/2015 22:18

You and me both merse Grin

Karmaone · 29/03/2015 22:35

That was just so lovely and heart warming tonight. Sigh!!! Proper Sunday night telly.

Travelledtheworld · 29/03/2015 22:39

If he were my lover I would just lie there gazing at him.
Then I would make him dress up in his white shirt and riding breeches and and make him take them off ......very.....slowly......

DustBunnyFarmer · 29/03/2015 22:41

I gather its gone quiet here because you're all busy salivating over AT on Twitter.

Bakeoffcake · 29/03/2015 22:46

I think everyone's busy rewinding and watching barechested bits again.

sosix · 29/03/2015 22:48

Found you. He loves her. Ha Elizabeth. she was nice to dessi though tbf

Margrethe · 29/03/2015 23:06

I almost don't want to watch anymore. It's been lovely and perfect. Even copper was found in the mine. Surely next week the honeymoon will be over, and it will all be downhill...

boogiewoogie · 29/03/2015 23:24

Loved tonight's episode. Particularly when Ruth Teague made several attempts to humiliate Demelza which failed miserably. Loved the way Ross looked at Demelza when she sang. You can tell he's so proud of her.

JoffreyBaratheon · 29/03/2015 23:51

I never watched the 1970s' one so came to this a Poldark virgin. Really loving it. Demelza is fantastic - just keep willing her on! Love Verity too. Fantastic character. Still fanning myself at the thought of Aidan T.

Meow75 · 30/03/2015 00:14

Aww, Verity is such a lovely girl. At least, as her father and brother chased off her love, she was still around to be Demelza's friend. That scene of them sewing I front of the fire made me Angry and Grin

"Tea?"
"Thank you, but it's a bit early" Angry

And then Verity's later words Grin

I understand now I didn't when watching that whole idea with the first part was to get you wondering whether she is planning to humiliate Demelza, but just have a fucking cuppa!!!!!

NorahDentressangle · 30/03/2015 06:55

Remember tea was kept in a locked box in big houses the ones that are always coming up for sale on bargainhunt so tea was an occasion, the lady of the house poured, I think, not a teabag in a mug. So Verity was tactfully putting her right in my view.

AWholeLottaNosy · 30/03/2015 09:53

Haha I just read this about how the Twitter talk with AT went last night. Apparently it descended into farce as he was beseiged with indecent proposals....what a surprise!

Sunnymeg · 30/03/2015 09:55

I thought Verity was just trying to point out that it was too early to serve tea. I think the gentry had set rules about the time it should be served, that sort of thing. She possibly sounded harsher than she ment to.

I absolutely loved the latest episode, having watched the previous ones with a sceptical eye. I found myself totally immersed for the first time and didn't want it to end. So many wonderful scenes - in particular the one where Demelza sings and Ross looks at her in THAT way......Fair brought a tear to my eye Grin

NorahDentressangle · 30/03/2015 13:26

Agree it was a lovely episode, left me all warm and floaty.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 30/03/2015 14:48

AT & ET on Steve Wright later

Interesting to hear them talking in their own accents (well I have heard his lovely Irish one before, but I'm curious if hers will be Northern or RP Grin)

Margrethe · 30/03/2015 15:42

Even DH, who was reading the Sunday Times and subtly sniggering at me for watching a soap opera, looked over his newspaper and smiled while Dezmelda sang. He was a bit smitten and mused that Poldark was proud of her.

I love the character Poldark and am enjoying the show, but I don't quite get the hysteria over Aidan Turner. When he's presented as just himself, he comes across as a friend's dorky older brother who shows some potential. Terrible haircut, dubious dress sense, and a garage converted into his personal bar/pool hall. Still kind of cute, but not what dreams are made of! Obviously, no where near as swoon worthy as the swashbuckling fantasy he has created. It's obviously not Hamlet, but I have to give him credit for being a good actor. It's a ridiculous hammy part, but he's done well enough with it for me and millions of others to be swept away by it and just go with it.

(Puts on tin hat and waits to be called out as a boring old prude.)

Snowstorm · 30/03/2015 17:16

Don't think anyone's going to be upset by you not adoring AT, Margrethe ... less competition for us who are all likely to jump him in the street at any opportunity Wink.

The Telegraphy link re. the Twitter Q&A really made me laugh. I particularly liked the one who went on there and said their mower had broken and please could he come along and scythe her lawn!!!

squoosh · 30/03/2015 17:17

AT certainly gets my lust radar pinging but there are plenty of supposed hotties that just don’t.

The poor guy has enough on his plate with 92% of the population lusting after him. The fact that 8% don’t must come as a blessed relief to him.

snozzlemaid · 30/03/2015 17:42

Demelza diet coke moment ...

That's hilarious, but deeply disturbing the way it times the line 'I just wanna make love to you' to the exact moment he looks at, erm, Jud.

Who is an excellent actor and one of my favourite characters, but even I am not exactly eager for that slash scene.
