Me you Chipped Grin

I think we can guess who might be leaving before the end of this series. DH and I were talking about it on the way home this evening. DH loves Good Wife as much as I do & we were debating how good last week's episode was at setting up loads of major characters for a fall. Diane could lose her license. Cary could end up back in chokey as his appeal grounds were bogus. Cary could end up whacked by Bishop. Kalinda could end up in chokey for falsifying evidence. Kalinda could end up whacked by Bishop. Cary, Alicia and Diane could end up having a massive bitch-slap fight over each of them putting the business at risk. Alicia faces losing her States Attorney job (or did that already happen?). Alicia risks letting Peter (boak!) back into her pants. Is it the last one tonight?

grabaspoon · 11/06/2015 21:57

What did the note say? I looked away for 1 minute!!

TrashcanMan · 11/06/2015 21:59

We didn't see, she just glanced at it then put it on the table behind her. Very depressing tonight, and no Eli!

DustBunnyFarmer · 11/06/2015 22:47

I thought Kalinda leaving a hairbrush (for DNA, I assumed) in her apartment was a bit yikes.

mineallmine · 11/06/2015 23:13

Alicia looks dangerously cosy with Peter in this episode. Don't do it, Alicia!

DustBunnyFarmer · 11/06/2015 23:18

I was hoping she'd start a new firm with Finn, so I was properly miffed when she and Diane made up.

northender · 12/06/2015 09:32

I found that episode quite tough to watch. Felt sorry for Cary but not Kalinda although I suppose it's ironic that the whole storyline goes back to Kalinda falsifying evidence to get Cary off his charges.
Can't see yet where this will go if there is another series

Travelledtheworld · 12/06/2015 14:01

I am struggling to watch it on catch up right now.

northender · 12/06/2015 15:00

Still 2 more episodes apparently

Travelledtheworld · 12/06/2015 15:34

Phew managed to get through that episode. I will miss Kalinda and her tight leather clothing....

Poor Alicia.
Why wasn't Grace home to comfort her and set up a prayer circle ?

I was thinking, surely lawyers couldn't be so vindictive and distrustful of each other. ....could they ? The Lockhardt/Gardiner/ Florrik / Argos combo partnership had been around for years, supporting each other through all sorts of unlikely scenarios. Hmm

OnlyLovers · 14/06/2015 12:24

They've been supporting each other but also always seemed very quick to turn on each other.

When you get right down to it, they're ALL motivated by power and money. I find it slightly odd that Diane in particular is portrayed as this glowing liberal saint when she's just like the rest of them. Of course some are worse than others (David Lee!), but they all play dirty when cash is at stake.

This week's was quite sober(ing). Fucking hell Alicia, DO NOT go back to Peter! And I didn't follow the stuff about her clients phoning her and Diane etc phoning her clients AT ALL. What were the firm trying to achieve? Were they pro-Alicia coming back, or trying to protect themselves against her going it alone and taking her clients?

And how did they leave it? Is she going back to the firm or not?

[dim]

chippednailvarnish · 14/06/2015 13:56

Your not dim, I don't think she can go back because Diane's Republican client, RJ (?) will leave if she does.

OnlyLovers · 14/06/2015 15:15

Oh OK. I always find it a bit Hmm when they make so much fuss about losing, like, one client. Surely it's a huge firm and they must lose and gain clients all the time?

I still can't work out though what they were all doing when her client Thingy Gallagher phoned her, said Diane had phoned him etc. Were the firm telling people Alicia was coming back? Was Alicia telling people she was? Or she wasn't?

oneowlgirl · 14/06/2015 16:50

Diane had phoned that guy before speaking to Alicia but he was mistaken when he told Alicia it was afterwards. I think Alicia is now so paranoid that she was very quick to believe she was being double crossed.

When she was with Finn, Diane , Carey & David Lee - Diane & Carey were being genuine & the bit afterwards was those 2 trying to convince David Lee but then Finns comment further fed Alicia's paranoia & she went on the defensive. It was all a big misunderstanding mainly fed by Alicia's cynical view of things now!

That said, I'm not sure what that client leaving will mean for her - whether they'll keep her & lose him or let her go??

Is it wrong that I like her & Peter supporting each other?

DustBunnyFarmer · 14/06/2015 16:56

Yes, very wrong One. Peter is not deserving of Alicia.

I hope they'll ditch Alicia, leaving the option open of her working directly with/establishing a new firm with Finn, but then fronting up against the LG crew in court. That would work nicely for me.

oneowlgirl · 14/06/2015 17:00

You're right, he isn't deserving & yet I still like it! I know he's acting, but can totally see how he could have his pick of shags as he's very good looking & charismatic!

Travelledtheworld · 14/06/2015 20:26

oneowlgirl I thought Peter was very good looking in that family photograph that Kalinda was looking at, but now he is a little older I just find him creepy. He's also quite tall isn't he, so quite intimidating.

I don't really fancy any of the male characters in TGW, I was pleased when Will was written out, I found him really annoying, smug b*tard.

msrisotto · 14/06/2015 20:41

Me too! Will was so wet.

I am finding myself a bit bored and frustrated with TGW. I miss the variety of story lines that being in the law firm with lots of different clients gave.

chippednailvarnish · 14/06/2015 21:39

I also thought that Cary should have come out fighting for Alicia - she really led the fight for raising his bail money...

DustBunnyFarmer · 14/06/2015 21:48

And staked her home, I think, Chipped.

chippednailvarnish · 14/06/2015 21:53

She did, didn't she. He just didn't seem that bothered that she was potentially being shafted...

mineallmine · 17/06/2015 23:48

Cary will do the right thing, I know he will. He's a man of integrity. I think he and Alicia trust each other.

OnlyLovers · 18/06/2015 09:27

I agree about Cary. He owes Alicia. Maybe he'll still come good?

Peter is horrible in every way.

drinkscabinet · 18/06/2015 23:39

Peter is horrible but Chris Noth is lovely which is where the problem is. My mother thinks Peter is fabulous and she should go back to him. We may have had words.
