Anyone watching?

So what is Bishop playing at? Discrediting her? Money laundering? I didn't quite understand that, beyond knowing it's bad.

Oh, and bluelamp? Let us know how you get on, won't you? Grin

I reckon he's making an investment in her being SA. Getting her in his pocket.

bluelamp · 19/02/2015 22:08

The week I've had it will be easy! It's felt like one of those scenes where Alicia is dealing with about 6 different things at once (which is one of those things I love about The Good Wife, it catches that 'so many bloody balls to juggle' feeling so well).

No idea about Bishop, he's difficult to read but very very bad and a little bit sexy.

Moanranger · 19/02/2015 22:30

Stockard Channing -yikes! Did not twig Finn = Lady Mary love interest, so is he a Brit?

Defo working inured into conversation. Best example wins Wine

Dimplesandall · 20/02/2015 15:03

Sigh. This prog is SO good and strong/believable/likeable female protagonist to boot. Why arent there other similar programmes on?

Quenelle · 20/02/2015 23:00

Ooh Rizzo Sad Whaddya do to yourself?

I'm quite glad Alicia will have to slow down on the sauce, she's a terrible influence on me, I'm on my third Wine and am supposed to be running first thing tomorrow.

Quenelle · 20/02/2015 23:01

Not for States Attorney, you understand.

Just round the block.

bluelamp · 21/02/2015 09:43

I failed to say 'I'm inured'. Mainly because it was stupidly mad day at work. But we got the issues sorted so that was good and the senior managers were happy with how we approached the problem so that was great. I've not dared to check my email yet this morning though to see what has happened overnight.

ClearlyMoo · 21/02/2015 20:06

I'm worried that Bishop's support will discredit her in some way.

I noticed Lady Mary's lover was Finn whilst watching DA at Christmas. Had a "where have I seen THOSE EYES before" moment and used IMDB to check.

Love Eli.

It was also nice to have an episode with less Cary & Diane, they've been a bit too present since Will's death.

Nancy66 · 22/02/2015 10:31

I think Bishop is just trying to show that he 'owns' her.

Dump me as a client because you think I'll harm your candidacy? Fine, I'll throw money at your campaign...

that sort of thing (could be wrong)

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 11:28

We were torn about Bishop's motives. DH thinks he has a grudging and genuine respect for Alicia. Cynical moi thinks he wants her in his pocket for later favours/protection. I'll be interested to see how she plays it - perhaps she'll insist on the money being used for other causes or insists it isn't spent on her campaign to ensure she keeps him at arms length and cannot be compromised by it yet. At the moment, the only thing it tells us that is that there is popular support for her. It's up to her how the money is used.

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 11:29

That should have been "compromised by it LATER", not yet.

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 11:31

I have to say that I found Matthew Goode totally wooden in that romcom he did with Amy Adams, so was surprised when I googled the delectable Finn during the last season and realised it was the same man. He is fantastic as Finn Polmear.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 22/02/2015 11:34

Look there's a Good Wife thread! I am excited.

This weeks episode was a great one in the history of 'Drink along with Alicia', a game DH and I invented.

Bishop (oh I so would) wants her in his pocket, doesn't he? That's what the seedy world of the Procurator Fiscal is like! Smile - that's part of the game too. If DH or I say 'all this fuss for the procurator fiscal, I just don't geddit' then you have to have another Wine

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 11:40

Lonny - DH and I joked about starting an Alicia drinking game this week.

Alicia is pretty shrewd, though. I don't think she'd be so readily compromised by Bishop. I remain convinced she'll find a way around it.

SweetsForMySweet · 22/02/2015 11:57

Anyone else not trust the new guy (Johnny)? I think the sting in the tail of Bishop is a corruption scandal during the campaign, he's already shown how quickly he can turn when he withdrew Carries bail. I thought the meeting between Alicia/Eli/Johnny was great when they started dishing the dirt on her mum and Owen. Another Eli fan here, he gets some great one liners/comebacks

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 12:47

Peter Florrick clearly thinks Johnny is a threat, bonking Alicia. Recall the comment about asking Eli if Johnny had been horribly disfigured in a motorcycling accident. Peter really is a first class tool. It's OK for him to shag around, but not Alicia.

Anyhow, I think the greatest threat Alicia-wise is from Finn, which I'm all in favour of. More of that please.

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 12:48

By threat, I mean to the Florrick's sham/empty marriage. Not that the men would be dangerous to Alicia.

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 12:48

Florricks', even.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 22/02/2015 12:54

As an aside, I think Peter is/has shagged the intern's mum. He's wised up enough to not shag young women with blogs anymore, but he's getting some from somewhere...

fascicle · 22/02/2015 15:56

Cracking episode. Loved the twists and turns thrown up by the 'oppo research', periodically interrupted by bursts of choral practice from Grace's room. Looking forward to seeing how Alicia responds to Bishop.

Nancy66 · 22/02/2015 17:13

I agree Lonny - something there with the intern's mum and Peter.

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 17:18

Agreed about the intern's mother. Would not be at all surprised to learn in due course that Peter is the intern's father, which would make his leching even more ewww.

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 17:20

Also, anyone else think it was suss that Alicia was arrested on the way back from drinks. She could have been followed, but equally Finn could have tipped off Castro.
