Anyone watching?

OP posts:
TheDietStartsTomorrow · 07/05/2015 05:25

Just caught up with last week's episode. It was pretty shit. I was so bored half way through I went up to make a cup of tea in the hope that something interested would happen by the time I returned.
I think the laryngitis was to differentiate real Alicia from all in her head Alicia.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 10:20

This series isn't very good IMO. Hopefully she'll lose and we can go back to the courtroom stuff. Also I hope they aren't writing out Michael J Fox?

TobikkoRoll · 07/05/2015 11:20

Noooo, they can't get rid of MJF!! Saint Alicia will donate a kidney or something... Grin

I really don't see the appeal of becoming SA, no more court cases and won't she have to withdraw from the firm?? Impartiality and all that.

I miss Will. Might have to start watching Masters of Sex when he starts in it.

Howaboutthisone · 07/05/2015 13:03

Fingers crossed that tonight's episode will mark a return to form!

SheHasAWildHeart · 07/05/2015 14:30

It's almost like Will was never in it and now that Alicia has said good-bye to him I think we won't see him in flashbacks either.

I think she will become SA and the show will go on for two more seasons and she ends up President of America. I really do!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 14:55

I wonder if she's supposed to be loosely based on Hillary Clinton, loyal wife (in public), lawyer, then turns into politician and climbs her way up?

SheHasAWildHeart · 07/05/2015 15:09

They've been referred to as "Bill and Hillary" several times in the show.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 07/05/2015 15:49

I noticed that too but wondered if the comparison had been made and they were covering their arses by mentioning the real Hillary. Hoping she doesn't do a Hillary and gets back to the law soon!

DustBunnyFarmer · 07/05/2015 21:19

Humph. Wish Good Wife was on now, at its usual time.

candykane25 · 07/05/2015 21:56

Just watching the utter bobbins that is The Vote, which is on now instead of TGW. It's dreadful.

DustBunnyFarmer · 07/05/2015 21:59

I'm watching Forever on Sky, also bobbins but at least bobbins of my own choosing.

DustBunnyFarmer · 07/05/2015 22:15

So Alicia needs to get a wriggle on if she's going to shag Jonny - election 3 days away & he's leaving early for a new campaign. Or is he?

DustBunnyFarmer · 07/05/2015 23:04

Hurrah! A return to form. And helloooo Jonny!

DustBunnyFarmer · 08/05/2015 00:10

Off to bed now. Just wanted to say how much I like it that Jonny completely loses his composure around Alicia and is reduced to more or less mumbling whilst looking at the floor. It's a really nice touch.

ClearlyMoo · 09/05/2015 12:12

Matthew Goode is a love interest for Mary in Downton they meet at a shoot- he's someone's land agent or neighbour or something.

Oooooh anyone else think this week's episode 7/05 was a return to form?!

A proper court case, MJF, Diane & hubby (makes a change from Kalinda getting all the sex), Eli and then all those wonderfully hot/tense Johnny moments....

I loved the final scene in the hallway... outside her apartment!

Also like that she's turned on Peter. Loved Eli's reaction....

Oooooh. Good episode. Return to form. What did you all think??!

Bue · 09/05/2015 12:24

I don't know, I was still slightly disappointed in this episode and I can't put my finger on why. It had a court case, and so many of my favourite recurring characters (Judge Abernathy, Meryl Streep's daughter, Diane's husband...) I think the problem was the shocking lack of Kalinda and Lemond Bishop! Obviously it ended on a high note though Grin

ClearlyMoo · 09/05/2015 20:17

It was a relief not to have Kalinda/Bishop!

DustBunnyFarmer · 09/05/2015 20:42

I sense a Kalinda schism developing on this thread.

oneowlgirl · 10/05/2015 00:03

I really enjoyed the latest episode Grin

Howaboutthisone · 10/05/2015 13:11

Yey! A return to form!!!! I really enjoyed this episode and felt that it was over in a flash unlike last week's that seemed to drag on forever!
Louis Canning is so bad! I love the nemesis thread he creates though- fantastic. I also liked that even though Alicia's matured in so many ways, she wasn't above the childish pushing the phone further away thing Grin
I was getting disappointed by Jonny bowing to Eli. Love him even more now. I also think that Eli's daughter is great!
So happy now!Smile

oneowlgirl · 10/05/2015 18:16

I know there are no spoilers on this thread but did anyone read BBC entertainment news today?

Howaboutthisone · 10/05/2015 18:41

No! Please don't mention anything spoiler ish!

oneowlgirl · 10/05/2015 19:46

I won't, don't worry! Grin

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 10/05/2015 19:56

Checking in again on this thread, it's disappeared off my threads list.

Loved the last episode, for all the reasons already mentioned. Canning is just deliciously wicked Grin

DustBunnyFarmer · 10/05/2015 19:57

If it was a pantomime we could all hiss and boo whenever Louis Canning or David Lee appear on screen. Having the chance to play such gleefully awful characters must be fun.
