Anyone watching?

OP posts:
ClearlyMoo · 03/05/2015 19:59

I posted last week but our net was playing up so it disappeared.

I quite enjoyed the court room return even if it was for ridiculous Sweeney thing.

This week's lost me. I think she needed to have different hair like in that famous Gwyneth film that. Can't remember with John Hannah in. I digress sorry.

Liked the different men. Will was not played by orig actor which was silly though! I like the theory below of Jonny fling and Finn for keeps

Thought her son (erm what's his name) - I'm a bit over tired tonight - homeless on a park bench was a bit OTT!

Sliding Doors

PooSweats84 · 04/05/2015 10:49

Oh no, switched off before the announcement, is it not on at all next week or just moved to another day/time?!

fascicle · 04/05/2015 10:56

It's on one hour later, at 10.00 p.m.

DustBunnyFarmer · 04/05/2015 11:08

I'm just hoping this week's episode is worthy of us staying up. Another duff episode like last week's and I will be mightily annoyed.

OnlyLovers · 04/05/2015 12:11

This week's was weird and not very good. There was no plot reason for her to have laryngitis; she could have just been ordered to stay at home to prepare for the interview. And her sore throat voice was rubbish.

WHY use an actor who looks SO unlike Will? It was embarrassing. They could have just had him in total darkness. Or use the real Will (isn't he still involved as an occasional director or producer or something)?

Why did she fall so completely apart just from spending a few hours alone at home? It didn't make me warm to her or admire her any more.

DustBunnyFarmer · 04/05/2015 14:04

I think we just have to focus on the positives here (potential boffage of Jonny and/or Finn) and move on, folks. I fear we are at risk of spending more time WTFing this episode than the writers spent writing it. Wink

SheHasAWildHeart · 04/05/2015 15:48

I think that episode helped Alicia to emotionally deal a lot of issues so that she can move on. Saying goodbye to fake-Will, reaching out to Zach, better understanding of Grace, imagining Kalinda and Peter together and also seeing her own future whether it involves a new man or not - all juxtaposed with Louis Canning slowly dying. It wrapped everything up but I hope we don't have another episode like it!

OnlyLovers · 04/05/2015 15:50

I prefer it when they show her dealing with things over a longer arc and in the midst of doing other stuff. This was a very static episode; like watching a dull one-woman show or something at the theatre.

Howaboutthisone · 04/05/2015 18:18

Agreed dust but I do also like that way of seeing it wildheart.

Pooseyfrumpture · 05/05/2015 12:28

Have you seen the trailer with her and Elfman and Peter? Shock

OnlyLovers · 05/05/2015 12:32

No. What?! Do I want to? Grin

Pooseyfrumpture · 05/05/2015 12:47

It was part of a general Channel 4 drama trailer but definitely seemed to show Alicia getting it on with Jonny and Peter not liking it.

OnlyLovers · 05/05/2015 13:13

Oh, well that's OK then. I'm not a great fan of Jonny (would prefer her to get it on with Finn) but anything that pisses off Peter is fine by me. He's such a hypocrite.

SheHasAWildHeart · 05/05/2015 18:02

What was Peter and Romana? Over so quickly. Can't believe how she was crying or on the verge of crying in every one of her scenes.

DustBunnyFarmer · 05/05/2015 18:11

I'm sticking with my Jonny = fling, Finn for keeps theory, but anything which annoys Peter is fantastic IMO. Smug, philandering hypocrite. Can't bear him (and was not a fan of him in SATC, not that I watched it much).

OnlyLovers · 05/05/2015 18:22

I like that theory, Dust.

Although I kind of want Finn for myself, so when/if it happens I'll probably be madly jealous. Grin

DustBunnyFarmer · 05/05/2015 18:40

I'm trying to work out what makes Matthew Goode as Finn catnip to me, as I did not remotely fancy him in that awful romcom with Amy Adams, though I think the wandering Oirish accent didn't help in that. Let's think. Hmm, he has lovely eyes, hair, suits etc but mainly I think its that he's so decent in a world of shitbags and sharks.

OnlyLovers · 05/05/2015 18:51

Yes, he is pretty decent.

Happily, I haven't seen that 'awful romcom' but never fancy him in anything else (The Imitation Game, Death Comes to Pemberley, Dancing on the Edge).

Even in TGW I have to admit he has a bit of a weak chin and bulging eyes, but I'd definitely give him a go anyway.

I'm sure that's a massive relief, eh Matthew?

DustBunnyFarmer · 05/05/2015 19:06

LOL. I would too.

oneowlgirl · 05/05/2015 19:22

And me only Grin

colouringinagain · 05/05/2015 21:01

me too Wink

ClearlyMoo · 06/05/2015 05:12

I've a balanced take on the matter. Loved MG in Downton Abbey and Leap Year and TGW.

oneowlgirl · 06/05/2015 21:35

Who was he in Downtown Abbey??

OldRoan · 06/05/2015 21:42

I've been after him since the Brideshead remake.

I'm losing patience with this series, I really am.
