There's no way they'll bring in Islamic fundamentalism (I hope!). I think the Masoods are meant to show that Muslims are nice, normal people. It would be way too provocative to bring that into the storyline. I reckon it's a secret husband or fiancé.

I hope they don't bring extremism into it. I agree that it's a great way to show everyone together, one community etc. I like the way they've explored the differing interpretations and levels of following the religion. (Eg entering pub) and how people have changing opinions and feelings.

I guess it does make sense for people to believe Dean. It is such a big thing and he does come across as a decent lad a lot of the time so his family would believe him, plus like someone said up thread, there is sometimes blame on how a woman dresses etc and Linda wears a lot of tight short dresses so I can see why someone like Stan would accept Deans version. And with Shirley being his mum, of course she is going to believe her son.
