gah...posted too early

But...it could be quite easy to not have CJ as a character at all. As him and Molly (if he took back his resignation) wouldn't be allowed to serve together. There would be ructions if they showed that! So we would only see him really as before/after she went on tour.
However as the title is Our Girl, they could easily do a whole new set of characters like they did with Skins.

I like Another Time, Another Place too. Must say that the FF been written now is really excellent (with the odd exception) and I love reading them all. I do like the one set 5yrs in the future, where Molly had a son and never told CJ.

I think the ending of this series is good enough and doesn't need another, if its patched up. And to please the lot of us, it would need to include low slung trousers, stubble and headpiece. Onto CJ and CJ only ;-)

moojangles · 02/01/2015 12:25

Loving those too. onlygirl gets a special mention for being the only one to deal with the practicalities of their height differenceBlush
Off to the depths of the Cotswolds in a bit to meet with my RL CJ fan friend. There will be kids present, so not sure how much admiring will be fone

Onlygirljen · 02/01/2015 12:31

Moojangles, just spat my coffee out laughing at that one!! I'm nothing if not practical! Latest chapter now finished, I'll try and upload later today.

Braving the sales for new trainers for eldest ds now, ick Sad

orphan · 02/01/2015 12:40

OK episode 2 watched whilst ironing (some compensation for lack of CJ combats on/combats off ironing board cover) and remembering how much I love it. So much quality CJ in it: pool, top tongue rolling in the tent scene when he calls MD Dawsey, operation Bulge and of course the duet.

richtea I too love history of violence (the raisin does on the stairs sex) and has your husband seen Eastern Promises? Naked wrestling in that actually!

I am not convinced there going to be a second series - not with CJ and Molly anyway. Maybe following other characters..Sad

pixieg1rl · 02/01/2015 12:54

Hurrah, there will be smut for bedtime reading! I hope there will be smut.

I'm about halfway through my next chapter, just about to embark on Rosabaya scene.

apsara03 · 02/01/2015 13:12

Just checking in. Loved all the naked wrestling fun last night Smile looking forward to musketeers tonight and bed time fanfic -for some one who hasn't read 50 shades or anything similar I am rather enjoying QS -particularly when on my phone and people think I'm checking emails or something!
Didn't make gym yesterday but have done metafit this morning and will do body combat tomorrow -need to work off all the wine and puddings.
I mentioned starting to run with dog haven't run since part of rowing training nearly 20 years ago. So a question for those of you who do run - walking or takes me 40 mind, should I alternate 5 mins jogging then walking and build up? Thx

cherin · 02/01/2015 13:27

I have started following the 0to5k app on phone, and it suggested short periods to start with (like run 2 min, walk 2 min), until you get to the point where it's just a continuum. But I was really a couch potato, so for you it may be much easier! Just remember to warm up by walking before you start, and stretch afterwards (which I hardly ever do, big mistake)

pixieg1rl · 02/01/2015 13:47

My friend recommended couch to 5k to me as well. I need to get some exercise and loose quite a lot of weight. I love swimming but finding the time to do it is just too hard. If I'm not working I'm looking after DS. If I want to do anything I pretty much have to make an appointment with DH and to be honest I'm sick of managing him as well. I thought I'd try running because then I'm not committed to a class at a specific time, and it's something I can do without having to organise childcare and transport.

But first I will need some trainers and a sports bra. The bra is an engineering feat that would challenge Brunel, but I've looked on some websites and there might be one or 2 in my size.

cherin · 02/01/2015 13:55

Ahahah! Brunel was good. You can check if there is any model by calatrava, otherwise (both arch and engineer, it may even be a pretty piece!)

I bought most of my stuff via sweatshop, they had a 20% extra discount but until yesterday, anyway a good pair of shoes is about 50£ and I get a 50% off via my health insurance...1 pair per year for each family member, it's good.
I always, always HATED running, but resorted to it as you can start counting the minutes as soon as you leave the door (going to the gym, changing, etc...you waste another 30' minimum!) and it's free. No commitment, but I do it with my neighbour or sometimes with DS1 so it's fairly easy. Once a week in company, once a week by myself with something loud in my ears ;-)
I also managed to break my arm and needed surgery, at some point, so I've learnt up keep on the pavement or check if path is slippery at all times. But I am now at the point where I am actually enjoying it...and it's cheaper than a shrink, to clear up me nut from sombre thoughts..

orphan · 02/01/2015 14:22

onlygirl can't wait for the next instalment of QS (lots of QS, I hope) and thanks for the recommendation for Another Time. Hadn't read it until your tip, but really like it. As you say, very well written and clever how the events have been reimagined but essence is the same.

threadNneedle · 02/01/2015 14:35

I love Another Time Another Place too. It is my fav period for historical fiction and I think she (I presume) has been so clever to weave in the story. Sometimes it is so subtle that you only pick it up on the second reading. I'm jealous of those who have yet to read it!

icemistOBE · 02/01/2015 17:03

Nice afternoon here so I took the boys to the park near our house. We were the only ones there.
Managed to watch 10 mins of ep 1 earlier but did get the restaurant scene in and watched the duet as well.
Be glad when school starts next week and I can sit down and watch all the episodes again do some decluttering again

Survived the sales and posted the next chapter, phew! Grin

Onlygirljen · 02/01/2015 17:19

Ps - thanks icemist! Hope it doesn't disappoint!

icemistOBE · 02/01/2015 17:43

Love it!!!

cherin · 02/01/2015 17:54

Oh yes, it's a good un! For some mysterious reason the moons are aligned and the kids have been playing nicely for 15', just the time to savour it ;-)

orphan · 02/01/2015 18:03

onlygirl it's fab - you are a brilliant writer. Are you really going to end it in another one or two chapters? I'd so much love you to continue...

Onlygirljen · 02/01/2015 18:26

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed.

Orphan - I keep saying to myself that I'll only do a couple chapters more, but think it's probably right this time. My plan is to take it to bath (the place, as opposed to any bath based smut unfortunately) and then probably leave it there. Totally depends on how hectic work becomes (it has a tendency to be pretty frantic at times). Barring a lottery win or quitting my job, probably won't have much free writing time, much as I have come to enjoy it!

pixieg1rl · 02/01/2015 18:33

Well I couldn't hold out until bedtime for your latest Jen, very good writing and some QS.

I find the ff grows as you write it, sometimes you start writing a chapter and it takes on a life of its own. I had an hour or so to write today and have tried to chart out how many chapters I'm writing.

orphan · 02/01/2015 18:48

Oh and I'd meant to mention that when I watched the duet scene, there is definitely another little wink right at the start of the song as well as the more obvious one. I know we talked about this many threads ago but I couldn't spot it then.

orphan · 02/01/2015 19:36

Mmm, onlygirl, considering buying you a bulk load of lottery tickets if that's what it's going to take to keep you writing... Because where are we going to get our much needed dose of QS from, if you stop?
