elsie you were in a glamorous location so that probably gets you double points!

We could certainly do with some good coffee ads and I'm all for a long-running remake with a will they won't they going on. I can't bear that stupid Nespresso one with George Clooney. Its so feeble!

Onlygirljen · 04/01/2015 20:55

Oh pixie! Just read your ff - it is so bloody good! Well done! Off to read it again..!

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 20:58

Icemist if you do see Fingers-now-in-Corrie and invite yourself and "friends", remember I am probably only about 25-30 miles from you and therefore could be with you quicker than any of our London-based MN friends!

smallandtriangular welcome to the madhouse. I was going to ask, but Nickel got in first - are you sure you haven't written any of the ff? It has been a real weekend for confessions!

And Nickel, no, it really couldn't have been BA. You have studied him too closely since September not to have recognised him in the flesh. Am sure he wouldn't be wearing burgundy cords (well, I sincerely hope not). Did he realise you were staring at him? How tall did Nandos man look?

I can't believe the rate at which the ff is coming out at the moment. It is sooooooo much better than some of the earlier stuff. I'm loving it. Not only might I cancel my Saturday newspaper but I get two magazines sent each month which haven't been touched since November so perhaps I should cancel those too. I don't even look at FB any more over breakfast - just go straight to this thread and to the ff.

Anyone had any other interesting theories about SPO?

Well, am going to start getting ready for work tomorrow but need to wash up first so will be back at some point on Monday, unless there are some more amazing revelations in the next hour or so.

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 21:06

Forgot to say, but remember I told you about the awful Christmas present from my neighbours (the egg cup)? Well, at work we do a sale of unwanted Christmas presents every year and the money goes to the local charity we support. I will be donating said egg cup but I wonder what else will turn up - can anything beat my egg cup for the worst Christmas present of 2014?

moojangles · 04/01/2015 21:17

I got a hairbrush from MIL, just a normal one.
She is a great re-gifter, one year she gave me the scarf that we had given her the previous year, still in original wrapping labelled Afghanistan-bit if a giveaway. We havecs competition to see who gets the worst gift. I often win.

moojangles · 04/01/2015 21:18

Soz for spellingConfused

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 21:20

Well moojangles at least at work our cr*p presents benefit our local charity! We do get some funny stuff but sometimes people throw out things I would be pleased to receive - we had a Clarins gift set and a Liz Earle one last year. Not sure why you wouldn't want to keep those. Better than my egg cup anyway.

pixieg1rl · 04/01/2015 21:24

ilove, we got a cute kittens calendar. We don't have a cat, we don't want a cat, OH is allergic to cats.

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 21:27

I don't feel too badly done to now over my egg cup. I have two cats - I could swap the calendar for an egg cup.....?

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 21:28

You are top of my list Ilove

I'm usually to be found reading my kindle/ ff on way to/from work I must pay more attention now

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 21:31

ilove thats just mean, I'm pretty sure the trains from London up north can be very fast (maybe we do need HS2 after all .... No, les not go down that road!) .... If we needed to, we'd get there as quick as we could!

I've now convinced myself it wasn't BA. He probably wasn't tall enough .... and cords?! .... I'm definitely going with that theory! Hopefully he didn't realise I was staring, although the kids trying to get my attention all the time might have made it a bit obvious .... But why would he be paying any attention to me?!!!

While I was lying on littlies floor trying not to fall asleep I remembered I met the entire England football team once, many years ago ... In the days of David seaman and robbie fowler. I was at a hotel helping run a conference and they were all there before they flew out for the World Cup! Obviously I skipped the lectures on the pretence of doing something very important, do that I could hang around them, and ogle help them!

I've hardly ever check FB any more either, this is much better!!

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 21:36

I could be at icemist's travel agency in about 45 mins I reckon - I could be on the M61 within 5 mins from work. You heard icemist anyway - I'm top of her list!!

I have these lovely little fantasies that BA is going to be at Bailbrook House. My friend can go and find somewhere else to sleep and we will push the twin beds together. He won't be ordering for me though - I can do my own menu choosing thank you very much.

The men in white coats are coming to take me away.

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 21:40

It's not fair!!! (Tries and fails to do a huffy voice, but difficult while I am laughing so much!)

Think it's been mentioned before, but even though we know in our saner moments (few and far between) we aren't going to bump into BA (probably), a tiny little bit of us still has that hope, so we have to look for him!

apsara03 · 04/01/2015 22:07

If tomorrow is first day back at work for you hope all goes well. It's my first day at new school though inset so no teaching till later in week. Someone mentioned earlier about kids opening reports - as a teacher it annoys me too. Increasingly things are going online which will hopefully make things better. Not that kids should be in aware of what is written but as you said it is addressed to parents.
Enjoy watching OG those of you who regain TVs/tablets from small people who will be back at school tomorrow. Looking forward to house to myself on Tues -haven't actually watched episode since before new year though have read copious amounts of fanfic.
Incidentally have book club later this week haven't got book let alone read it. We've been asked to suggest books for next year, maybe I should suggest fanfic? If so which one?? Don't think any of them watched OG. I did confess to how it has brought back memories of nearly going into the navy though they have no idea of my complete obsession

smallandtriangular · 04/01/2015 22:10

Sadly not an author of fanfic, just the occasional short review of a few select ones (all of which have been mentioned here), where I think really carefully about what I'm typing. I have managed to slog my way through 'Persuasion' again but only by imagining CJ as the wondrous Captain Wentworth... and Bath is in it so that helped....

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 22:12

Always on the lookout!

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 22:16

Cannot wait till Tuesday to watch an entire episode! Now my only decision is do i watch from start and promise not to skip the bits with no CJ?

apsara'it was my son that forged my signature. We told him off but to be honest I didn't give too much of a hard time. He was scared about getting a detention. I don't think he thought we would find out. Most of the time we get letters, reports newsletters online, but this was a booklet progress report. He was upset and I really don't think he would do it again.

Mine are back tomorrow, I hope as web site says tomorrow and my newsletter says tues! It's really a good school! I would love to think that I will get to watch OG tomorrow, but judging by the state of the house I think I will be putting decorations away and dusting (with the OG soundtrack though) ;)

Crap present for me was a square shower base looffer mat. Supposedly you can looffer your feet whilst showering.... All I can think of is soap and hairs getting stuck, sorry To much info!! It was from my 82yr old dad who shops from the Kaleidoscope magazine and other mail order catalogues.

cjwoofwoof · 04/01/2015 22:34

Ditto icemist I can't wait til Monday when I can finally re-compress and put on my dvd in peace and keep hold of the iPad to look at this thread for longer than a snatched 5 mins at a time. I've really missed Captain Stern Face in headset before heading back to Bastion clip.

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2015 22:44

I couldn't resist a last dip into this before bed. icemist I would watch all your favourite bits first and then if you have time, sit and watch an episode all the way through.

Did we ever intend to decompress? I think I did - I thought it would take me a couple of weeks - but this thread did exactly the opposite and the thought of giving up on this now would be like withdrawal from a Class A drug (not that I know anything about those).

cherin · 04/01/2015 22:50

I step slightly to the side (as I usually do) and leave you with this wonderful inspirational poster.
Back to work tomorrow, a bit sad and a bit relieved. Kids have been really good (or mostly good, but overall i was pleasantly surprised) during this break so ill miss the frequent cuddles and the kisses. On the other hand, I have my 55' of commute each way to indulge in ff...so please keep writing!! :-)

Blimey you have all been very use this weekend! Just managed to catch up on all the posts, have been a bit preoccupied with dd's 18th birthday today, and final preparations for dt's 11 plus exams which start tomorrow.

Can one of you kind experts summaries the names of the fanfic I need to read, and whose is whose, because I have a lot to catch up on and I'm getting confused!!

No confessions from me, I'm afraid. I wish I had time to have an authoress alter ego!

Someone mentioned sainsburys in Wilmslow a couple of pages back. That's where I grew up - Wilmslow, not Sainsburys obvs!

Beingfrank · 04/01/2015 23:03

Busy, not use - oops

orphan · 04/01/2015 23:46

Just got back and am v excited - my friend got the DVD for Xmas despite not having seen the series and her verdict: CJ is gorgeous! I've played it cool though and not let on my full addiction, but she understands the desire to watch him again and again.

nickel surely a thorough quick glance at the area that The Bulge should have been would have given you a definitive yes or no as to whether it really was BA?! (Or landed you in serious bother...)

richtea first sighting was Spencer and Hugo, and Spencer was wearing a v dodgy denim jacket with stars and stripes on. Second, Millie. I only watched the first series so wouldn't recognise any of them now.

Oh also saw Bernie Ecclestone and his much younger wife doing their shopping. Their chauffeur had to wait outside then they called him to come and carry the bags. Bernie stopped to stroke a chihuahua.

Going to try and catch up on the ff now but richtea's mention of a loofah and showers has got me wondering how good CJ is at scrubbing backs...?Blush I think I'd like him to do a shower gel commercial next.

Rhubarb01 · 04/01/2015 23:53

small I am with you on Persuasion. My second favourite Jane Austen after Pride and Prejudice. I just love poor overlooked, 'past her bloom' Anne who finally gets her man after all those years of yearning. Next time I read it I will definitely try imagining another Captain!
