OMG can you imagine sitting next to BA for a long haul flight??? And what if he was a nervous flier and needed his hand holding?Wink

orphan · 04/01/2015 18:55

Off out now; try not to do anything too exciting whilst I'm away.

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 18:57

We were lucky enough to get tickets for the cbeebies show (peter pan) which is where we met Andy

Carla actress- didn't acknowledge i knew who she was but was a mutual understanding type situation.

The actor who played fingers is now in Corrie and he says he uses the tram quite a lot so will be on the lookout for him when I start back to work.
Oh nearly forgot - sat a row behind ronan keating on a flight to Dublin. And Bono lived in my hometown (late 80 early 90's) so saw him quite a bit. And Chris de Burgh - been at a few church services where he has been.

And can you imagine if you accidentally spilt your cold drink on him and had to help him mop it up with those small napkins they give you with your drink....

richtea I'd swap places with you for dinner with Didier Drogba!!!

pixie love the new chapter, are you going to keep going through r&r and after? I have to say, I am so proud of knowing you lot of wonderful brilliant writers! (If that makes sense ... I suspect it becomes clearer, by the day, why I don't write!)

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 19:02

Ooh, icemist, if you meet fingers, could you please become his new best friend (obviously without telling him why!) so that when the OG lot have a reunion you can go along with him and invite a "few" friends (aka us lot) to go with you!! I reckon that'd work, yes?!? Wink

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 19:06

Re BA back to Canada. Sean Teale tweeted a few hours ago "London it's been sensual. Back to the Toronto grind yo" so presume it must be the same...

Icemist talking about spilling drinks over BA on a flight made me think of those old drinks Ads with Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins - oh crikey she's cropped up again first it was Oliver Tobias now its in the same breath as BA. You're probably too young to remember but all you have to do is recline the seat at the wrong moment and just chuck the drink all over him.

Onlygirljen · 04/01/2015 19:22

Ooh, love the celeb spots! I had never had even the remotest of celebrity encounters until around this time last year, when I met the one and only Bradley Cooper on a business trip. It was perhaps one of the weirdest moments of my life - I always thought I would be shy in such a moment but had a lovely little chat with him and even got a picture with him as a keepsake. Lovely man!! Grin

Need to go and read pixies fic now. And actually find time to write next chapter of involved, wanted to get it done before return to work on tues Sad

Richtea19 · 04/01/2015 19:22

orphan I have to confess I watch Made in Chelsea, guilty pleasure. More details pls!!!
Tom Jones in a hotel bar in London, my drunk friend went over to talk to him (v embarrassing)

BernArd cribbens (my fav!)

Richtea19 · 04/01/2015 19:25

Rhubarb I'm old enough!!! I loved those adverts. We would always wait for the new one, like a premier! Old time Classic adverts.

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 19:34

So, it could have been BA en route from Exeter to London with his mum and sisters, via the a40 (obviously because he heard about our nandos, cos it's not really on the way!). NOOOOOOO don't tell me it actually was hi, and I didn't realise .... (That isn't remotely possible, is it!!??!)

Richtea19 · 04/01/2015 19:44

nickel it might of been!! "so near but yet so far"...... So I suppose Calgary is nowhere near Toronto either, will still ask friend to scout for us!

smallandtriangular · 04/01/2015 20:04

Hello another very lurky newbie, you're all so funny I finally cracked and decided to pedal my squeaky tricycle onto the internet superhighway. Celeb spots, I tripped over Paul McCartney's massive dog (quite a skill), Sir Paul was very understanding, DH less so...

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 20:07

Hi small welcome to the madhouse!

Just opened my box of Milk Tray chocs. I used to love those adverts!

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 20:13

No, it couldn't have been .... I mean I've spent every day of the past three months (has it really been that long) looking at that face .... No, there's no way, there's just someone else out there who looks a bit like him .... Think I'm gonna go with that (makes me feel better thinking it wasn't him!)

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 20:14

Hi small, welcome! Have you been lurking long and read the last 7000 posts (?!) or only joined the madness recently?

Nickel45 · 04/01/2015 20:15

Ooh, and just for clarity, are you an author of anything!!!? :)

Richtea19 · 04/01/2015 20:17

Welcome on board small!

Oooh love a Milk Tray.. BA could be our Milk Tray man, with a black roll neck sweater, now that sounds cheesy ;) didn't he slide down a drainpipe ?

Rhubarb01 · 04/01/2015 20:24

Welcome small.

Well having a trip down advertising's memory lane are we? (In a Miranda kind of voice!).

What about the secret of the Black Magic box OR Fry's Turkish delight full of eastern promise with a dusky maiden and a mysterious sheikh like figure! BA for a remake of Lawrence of Arabia - sand, soldiers, fighting - remember the fabulous eyes of Omar Shariff!

apsara03 · 04/01/2015 20:27

All this updated fan fic is not helping me get anything done!! But fantastic work ladies Smile
Celebs
I met Phil De Glanville at an work event at Twickenham (pre teaching days) the day before he resigned the England captaincy. I pretended the autograph was for a fictitious niece rather than for myself as I was too embarrassed!
I grew up in Leicester in the days when rugby players weren't professional so had normal jobs as well do saw lots of the Tigers' players around at some point -Martin Johnson, Dean Richards.
saw John Malcovich at the theatre -I was on a school trip. The delayed the start for him.
Robbie Savage used to live in same village as my parents so used to see him in the pub. My mum is now friends with the lady who bought the house so I've been swimming in the pool he has built!
Michael Maloney -was at the stage door on the last night of him playing Romeo at the Barbican -my friend was obsessed with him. It was the weekend after I'd been on HMS Invincible.
I've never talked to anybody. I get completely tongue tied so would have been absolutely useless if BA has been anywhere near his agents in London.

icemistOBE · 04/01/2015 20:32

Anything but Turkish delight! Bleugh!!

He would make a very good milk tray man. Or do you remember the Gold Blend ads he'd be perfect in that!

His Carling ad was ok.

Hi small! Well my feeble Bjork spotting has been truly trumped, but I can proffer an Alex from Cbeebies if you really want to raise the stakes!! And no less that twice I'll have you know. Once at a Shed 7 gig in Leeds of all places, then a few months later at Crealies kids theme park in Devon. He looked like a devoted dad.

I'd happily give all of those memorable moments for a spot of lap mopping of split cocktails on a long haul flight with a certain fictional soldier. Blush

cherin · 04/01/2015 20:42

Milky tray, ladies, come on!! That's rubbish (Cherin ducks down and avoids the shooting). I told you! Posh Nutella by Venchi, imported by M&S. it's spreadable. What more can I say...;-)
