I think it starts next week. Grin

Ooh that was me thanks immarebel. Didn't think they would go. The husband was very happy in his job in Scotland and was very reluctant. I wonder if the wife is still doing flower healing or was it just a fad.

purplefeathers · 05/01/2015 09:57

Skype's not even that easy with the time difference. It's not a solution to the problem missing people.

susiedaisy · 05/01/2015 10:24

Have recorded today's show will watch later

Vagndidit · 05/01/2015 11:10

Sadly just watched Monday's episode with a mug of tea--Trying to figure out exactly when she expects to earn her experience/nurse's salary when she is essentially planning to spend the next few years on maternity leave while "expanding" their family.

Vagndidit · 05/01/2015 11:11

Skype works fine in our set up (we're in Uk, rest of our family back in US) but it's not a substitute. Certainly better than phone though!

ShatnersBassoon · 05/01/2015 11:21

I've just started watching today's. It bodes well. They have no money, he doesn't want to go and she cries a lot.

rubyflipper · 05/01/2015 11:36

Love this show.

Poor Brendan with his nagging wife who would have dumped him and taken the girls to Australia. Sad

Sparklingbrook · 05/01/2015 11:46

Haven't watched today's yet. Any good?

Rivercam · 05/01/2015 11:50

I missed the first half of the programme but the gist was that the mum has wanted to,go to Australia for 10 years ( since gap year?) and has to convince partner. Also have young child. Mum is very close to her mum and sister. Partner was less sure but convinced during programme, because it gives the best opportunities for the son.

Not sure whether they went in the end or not.

ShatnersBassoon · 05/01/2015 11:50

It's quite good. The play park was so good it made the woman cry. Lord knows what sort of hellhole they're living in in the UK.

Sparklingbrook · 05/01/2015 12:03

Ooh I will get the rest of my jobs done and boil the kettle. Smile

floellabenjaminsearrings · 05/01/2015 12:16

I didn't think today's was too bad. At least she had been to Austrailia a few times before and it was briefly mentioned that she has family there already (her mum's sisters I think?). I can understand his reservations though, but I think they came across as having thought about it much more than may other participants.

On the other hand, I have to agree with Vagndidit though - how is she going to get the experience if he is desperate to have another baby? Short term if they went things would be quite tight with him on an apprentice salary (albeit only a little under what he currently earns) and her presumably having to take a lower paid job to gain experience, plus a new baby. They seem young enough to wait a couple of years and then go....

floellabenjaminsearrings · 05/01/2015 12:17

*Australia not Austrailia

BringMeTea · 05/01/2015 12:25

Love the show. I saw the Darwin one today. Was surprised that their first words on seeing a quite large living room were that it was too small. The living room in their house was much smaller. Weird. Also they discovered the dangers of box jelly fish in that area and had not even googled it beforehand! Good job they didn't just run off into the sea. Why wouldn't you have googled?!

susiedaisy · 05/01/2015 12:27

Watched it. It was a bit bland tbh. And how will she earn the money when she will be on mat leave within the first few years of being there?

differentnameforthis · 05/01/2015 13:04

Why not. But when these people have loving families who are utterly heartbroken at the thought of their loved ones moving away, taking their grandchildren with them

Seriously? What...are we selfish or something? Hmm
I moved from the UK to be in Australia, I didn't take my child away from her grandparents, I took her to live elsewhere with her parents, to have a different life. My dad gave me his blessing, he said that he would be angry if I missed this opportunity because of him!

I can't believe everyone is expected to stay where they are born & never have experiences just because they have family.

Sparklingbrook · 05/01/2015 13:19

I couldn't leave my Mum and Dad, I just couldn't and I couldn't tear my DC away from their lives here. It's way too far away. But everyone is different.

Rivercam · 05/01/2015 18:00

Diff - If you don't spend a lot of time with your parents and family, fair enough, but so often on Wanted D, the grandparents or sister or best friend are seen or phoned everyday. In that situation there is a bigger wrench.

sailorsgal · 05/01/2015 18:07

So happy I started this thread. Grin watched this with ds 8. Said he is off to Oz when he grows up. Shock

AnneEyhtMeyer · 05/01/2015 21:37

I like how they said they couldn't go to the park like this in the UK.

sailorsgal · 06/01/2015 09:17

Oh dear it was raining!

OP posts:
Bowlersarm · 06/01/2015 09:22

They seem a lovely family. Kids are perfect ages to emigrate too, and seem keen.

sailorsgal · 06/01/2015 09:37

She would have to work full-time.

OP posts:
18yearstooold · 06/01/2015 09:38

I do wonder why, when you have a child with a heart condition, you would consider moving away from the NHS

northender · 06/01/2015 09:45

What jobs do they do? I missed that
