Morning all! Talking of kids driving you round the bend, anyone interested in buying an 8 year old? Going very cheap. In fact if you can pick up today, you can have him for free :-)

cherin · 07/12/2014 09:40

Ah! I give a 3yo perfectly potty trained (only thing I can say I managed to train him) not for free, but with an additional wad of money...or an ikea voucher, if you prefer!!
What's with this season?? Do they all want to screw up with Santa just when they were sooo close?

orphan · 07/12/2014 09:40

Ooh I love a good IKEA trip - I have fond memories of stand up arguments in the aisle with dp over how fast he wanted to go round the store (fast) and my preferred pace (very slowly, looking at everything), and then of course another meltdown when we get to the ware house bit and discover an empty shelf where what we want should be. I'm convinced CJ would be a far more pleasurable companion and he wouldn't be hard to lose in his combats and headset.

cherin · 07/12/2014 09:47

Let me tell you...with CJ in combats, I would go to Oxford street this afternoon at 3pm!!

cherin · 07/12/2014 10:11

Conversation with DS2 on the way to football. He can't find his shoes so he goes with old, smaller size.
"Mum, I don't care if I get blue toe nails and they all fall off, I am going to get hypothermia anyway"

What's not to love with these kids??? I take back all my sale offers. They are mine!

Richtea19 · 07/12/2014 10:20

Oh there's a thought, Christmas shopping with CJ... I can imagine holding hands (we never do that in RL), it would be crisp cold, little stops for coffee, a long lunch with plenty of wine and then an impulsive purchase fuelled from wine induced lunch. Maybe a diamond, he would look adoringly into your eyes and insist you had it. It would be in Bath of course. Then back to Bailbrook House. The rest is back to your "M" rates FF mind!

icemist · 07/12/2014 10:41

I would love to go shopping with CJ! I imagine it would be all holding hands and little glances at each other with a few lip bites thrownin along the way. And sipping a mulled wine as we walked around the Christmas markets.... Then having a nice glass of wine in front of a roaring fire as we relaxed at home later.

Blimey, I just shared a pavement with a line of parachutes coming back from a Xmas fun run. Covered in mud, dressed up in all sorts (one had a blue overall going all over, face and all!), cheery and sweaty. Mmmmhhh

pixieg1rl · 07/12/2014 12:26

Urgh, packing.

Nickel45 · 07/12/2014 13:04

Ugh, shopping. No CJ, grumpy kids, grumpy hubby, severe lack of Christmas cheer! Hope the packing goes well pixie.

orphan · 07/12/2014 13:12

There's a business opportunity: hiring out CJ to accompany women Christmas shopping (complimentary lip bite thrown in). I think I'd book him for the full day (might enquire if he does overtime as well).

pixieg1rl · 07/12/2014 13:18

I hear you can do a lot of shopping online in places with wifi. Travelodges, for example. Wink

Rhubarb01 · 07/12/2014 13:20

I always take my DD's to Ikea with me because they absolutely love going into all the little rooms and bedrooms and looking in the cupboards and drawers. It's like having a real life Wendy House or Lego friends house and I always dream of how perfect my home could be if I just happened to start with a square box exactly the right size to fit all their furniture perfectly. It makes me a little bit nostalgic for those singleton days but only in a materialistic kind of way.

Oh apologies to those concerned if I was sounding a bit bossy yesterday - not intended I must have been channeling stern, authoritative CJ at that moment.

SPOfficer · 07/12/2014 13:24

If I hire CJ to do shopping does that mean I can stay at home with Molly?

orphan · 07/12/2014 13:37

I like your thinking pixie! And of course, the January sales must be a busy time for him so I'd better reserve him quick.

pixieg1rl · 07/12/2014 13:37

I'd say that's only fair

orphan · 07/12/2014 13:42

rhubarb is it wrong of me to smirk and feel my temperature rise at the thought of channelling stern authoritative CJ?! Xmas Shock

cherin · 07/12/2014 14:05

Clever SPO, i applaud your quick thinking. You win a pot of posh Nutella/venchi to share with MD as it better suits you ;-)

Ilovelblue · 07/12/2014 14:33

First chance to check in today. Horrible weather up here - must have had at least half a dozen hail showers - the garden was completely covered for half the morning.

I've admitted to a friend that we've been writing literary works. She's particularly non-judgemental and I know she does poetry occasionally herself. Sadly, she's not watched OG, though she did know of my obsession with a certain character in it. I had to fill in the background as to how and why we've done it and then I left her alone in my kitchen with the laptop to read all of them. Verdict: "well you did say you were obsessed, and I don't know which bit you wrote but I am seriously impressed. Can't you sell the scripts to the BBC?" I then had to show her just what the object of our desire looks like but have sworn her to secrecy with my fellow workers.

Off for a cycle ride now whilst it's fine. I've been a bit lazy this weekend - need to put some bloody effort in before it goes dark.

Ilovelblue · 07/12/2014 14:39

Oh and cherin I showed her your drawings too. She reckoned you could illustrate a book!

cherin · 07/12/2014 14:50

Me??? Ahahaahahah! I wish!!
Wrap up well, I had to go to the rescue of DS from football under freezing shower, he was actually border line hypothermic...nothing that a hot shower could not temporarily fix (let's see the cold tomorrow), but it's never nice to see your flesh and bone mildly blue...

Ilovelblue · 07/12/2014 14:52

... there's a sdding puncture in the tyre since last Saturday. So cross .... off for a very brisk walk instead. Pondering on rhubarb*'s challenge for the next literary episode. Need to watch episode 2 a couple of times more I think to get me in the mood.

Back later.

cherin · 07/12/2014 15:00

How about looking at the After Operation Report? Or however it's called when the people report back to major?
(Would make patching pieces up a bit easier)

Richtea19 · 07/12/2014 15:17

How can it take so flipping long to put up christmas decorations? It's taken me most of the day. Probably because I can't do anything these days without my mind wondering and dreaming. What if CJ was helping out up the decorations. Loads of stretching and reaching up to tall places. I bet we wouldn't have an argument like DH and I have had over the bloody outside lights!
Youngest DS on way back from a weekend of scout camp so I'm all prepared with the washing machine on standby and the hot water on for shower and bath. Teenager still not dressed and still on the xBox. Such a wonderful life..... No wonder I'm constantly living in my OG world of fiction!

Is is too early for a glass of wine?????

Nickel45 · 07/12/2014 15:36

richtea I've recently come to the conclusion that it's never too early for a glass of wine . . . WinkBlush
