New thread here

OP posts:
Icimoi · 13/12/2014 22:57

I've seen Pixie and Trent described as the Aryan Twins. Which made it all the more disturbing when Trent went into lederhosen.

Snowstorm · 13/12/2014 23:26

The ones in the dance off this week, can they choose their favourite of their two dances to do again, or do they have to do their top scoring of the two? How does that work?

OneInAMillionYou · 14/12/2014 00:58

Hoping Jake is the one to go. Up to tonight I thought he had been consistently over marked, and those ghastly facial expressions!

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 14/12/2014 05:13

I remember an episode of ITT where Artem was rehearsing the Rumba with James as his partner. That was funny!

digerd · 14/12/2014 08:16

Something very odd happened to Caroline in the Foxtrot causing her posture in hold to be abit of a disaster. Hips too far apart, she not leaning back but forwards, head down- most odd. Confused

Mark's rumba was a contemporary ballet style and he did it very well indeed. Hence Craig's high mark and remarks.

No clue who will leave tonight. I thought Jake should have been in the bottom 2 last week but clearly has a huge fanclub.

ppeatfruit · 14/12/2014 09:53

Did anyone notice a very unpleasant bit with Claud? It was when Karen was crying and in the background was Kristina (i think) laughing away so much that Natalie told her to shut up. She also comforted Karen (I heart Nat.). THEN kristina was singing too. Hmm.

DaisyFlowerChain · 14/12/2014 10:20

I never warmed to Natalie until this series when she showed how to treated your partner with respect unlike a few of the others.

Icimoi · 14/12/2014 11:40

I've just watched that bit, ppeatfruit, and Christina isn't there - as she danced next, she would have been down on the dance floor. Also Natalie isn't anywhere near Karen and doesn't try to comfort her, apart from the usual pat on the back as they come upstairs - which so far as I can see is to Mark anyway - and you can't see Natalie speaking to anyone.

Tensmumym · 14/12/2014 12:41

Mark isn't a novice, having done 10 years at the Sylvia Young Theatre School where they also teach dance.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 14/12/2014 13:34

Does that mean he spent 10 years studying dance?

ppeatfruit · 14/12/2014 13:35

I wasn't sure if it was kristina Icimoi she was to the left quite behind and standing with her long hair down (all the blonde long haired pros look alike to me Xmas Grin). But Nat definitely was behind Karen to the right and told off the pro who was smiling in a manic way. It was very quick though, Maybe it was me then? Xmas Blush

Tensmumym · 14/12/2014 14:15

I think it means that Mark has SOME dance experience, contrary to the many claims that he has NEVER danced before.

Tensmumym · 14/12/2014 14:24

I've just watched that bit again ppeat and I didn't see any of them laughing. Claudia said for Kevin to give Karen a hug. Is it just me (and Marian Keyes on Twitter)who didn't really buy Karen's tears? Okay, Len had criticised the choreography but Craig had been complimentary - Claudia even asked her was it's Craig's niceness which was making her cry.

Tensmumym · 14/12/2014 14:26

ppeat I too find it hard to tell the blonde haired pros apart Xmas Smile

Pandora37 · 14/12/2014 14:57

I think Jake will go, as someone else said he looked thoroughly fed-up last night. I reckon either Simon or Mark will be in the dance off with him. Really, it should be Mark as I think him and Jake are the weakest ones left but then Simon did mess up his samba a lot. Mark didn't have a stand out dance last night though and neither did Jake so I think they should be in the dance-off.

I really want Simon to go through. I know a lot of people don't like Kristina but I do and she always looks genuinely thrilled when they get good comments. I think they'll be really excited to be there which will be nice to see. And on a completely shallow note, Simon is one beautiful man. His cheek bones are amazing! I want to have another week to drool over Simon's gorgeous face Blush.

Just realised if Caroline gets through, this will be Pasha's third final which is very good going when this is only his fourth series I think. He's had someone young and attractive every year, he must be due a duffer next series.

ppeatfruit · 14/12/2014 15:04

To be fair if Mark went to Stage school at weekends only, you generally choose your classes so it could've been for singing and drama not dancing. Though he does dance well for someone who has had NO experience at all Xmas Confused.

I disagree with Marian actually, Karen was really crying, with reason IMO. I was thinking "So where are the rumba moves then?" especially after the very helpful first bit of the judges describing what a rumba should look like Xmas Grin

Icimoi · 14/12/2014 15:39

You've mystified me now, ppeatfruit. The only other blonde person in Claude's area at that point was Trent, and he definitely wasn't laughing! In fact, there were no celebrity women up there at that stage apart from Natalie and Karen. And Christina had her hair up during that section of the programme. Most of the time there was no-one to the left of Karen, apart occasionally from Brendan.

Icimoi · 14/12/2014 15:42

I thought the main problem with the rumba was when Mark had his bum sticking out.

I absolutely loved Simon's second dance, it's one of those ones that's a pleasure to watch more than once.

I wondered about Len telling Simon that he should do the first dance again if he is in the dance-off. I really hope he isn't, but I thought they automatically go for the dance that gets the better marks? Simon would have to be mad not to opt for the Viennese Waltz.

digerd · 14/12/2014 15:53

The Samba is another dance notoriously difficult for celebs especially the men.
I too want Simon to get through and his VW looked stunning.

Justgotosleepnow · 14/12/2014 16:05

I agree about Karens crocodile tears. Watching it back she was not upset after the dance, nor the judges comments, they seemed to start on the stairs on the run up to Claudia.
So I'm suspicious it was just for votes.

And if mark went to that Sylvia young school, even if only at the weekend, he would definitely have done some dance.

Though not to say he hasn't improved, coz he has. Him & simon are the only ones I've seen improve over the series (of the ones left in now)
jake dances the same as his first salsa. Caroline and Frankie are just as good as they started out.
Though they did all seem to get nervous on Saturday.

Strictly can't end Shock what will I do without it takes two each night? Seriously people, life will just be a bit emptyHmm

Hey does anyone know if there will be a post-final it takes two this year? I always think that's missing

Icimoi · 14/12/2014 16:15

I liked Anton saying on ITT that samba isn't really a dance. I don't think I've ever watched one that I really enjoyed.

ppeatfruit · 14/12/2014 16:26

I wish I'd recorded it now !! Icimoi I can still see (in my mind) the very thin pro girl with long stragglyish hair and short fringy costume laughing unfeelingly at Karen's tears then singing "shine bright like a diamond". Loudly like she was a bit pissed or something Xmas Grin Xmas Confused!!!

Justgotosleepnow · 14/12/2014 16:33

Ppeatfruit are you sure? I watched it carefully when I played it back and there really isn't a pro girl in the background. It's just Brendan pushing KFG off Karen. Maybe watch it on bbc iplayer to have a look?

ppeatfruit · 14/12/2014 16:50

Weirdly I didn't see anyone pushing Kevin off Karen! Justgotosleep Maybe it depends on which side of the screen we were watching , she was quite a bit behind Claud and Mark\Karen. (on Claud's side).

OodKingWenceslas · 14/12/2014 16:52

Just re watched on iplayer.
This is just after Brendan pushes Kevin back.
