For continued waffling... Smile

Ah, thank goodness I'm not going bonkers. I came to read up and see if I'd missed an episode, the one in which Anna and Mr Bates had the talk about him being a murderer and the Device. As it is I'm not sure I saw any scene where she mentioned feeling able to dtd with her husband again so was flummoxed entirely by all the talk of babies, enormous families and all of the meaning looks between them.
Slight boak.

rockpinkpumpkin · 08/11/2014 21:45

Oh no I have just realised tomorrow's episode is the last one... what will happen?

citruslemon · 09/11/2014 14:10

Not much will happen sadly. I think they'll save it all for Christmas special.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 09/11/2014 14:17

I agree with citrus, not much has happened all season so why change now? And the thing that probably WILL happen will be shit (Bates and/or Anna being charged with murder...on what frickin' grounds?? Because they went to London? It's all circumstantial!) so I'm not sure why I am even looking forward to watching tonight...but I am!

tribpot · 09/11/2014 14:34

It's an extra-long episode, I think? So we must be in for a murder saga of some kind I suspect. I'm hoping Thomas is going to end the episode leading the whole cast down the drive at Downton chanting "We're Queer! We're Here! Get Used To It!" - it feels like the only person who has a problem with him being gay is Thomas himself (despite this being extremely unlikely to have been the case in the 1920s).

I hope there's no Isis funeral scene, definitely too much to cope with.

eddiemairswife · 09/11/2014 15:46

Rose's wedding dress is lovely (pic in Radio Times), but there's a hint that things might not be plain sailing.

sailorsgal · 09/11/2014 18:30

wouldn't there be some resemblance between Marigold and Edith? Or her father?

JimmyCorkhill · 09/11/2014 18:47

My DDs don't look like me (waaah) so maybe not.

LineRunner · 09/11/2014 21:03

Wtf?

TheBookofRuth · 09/11/2014 21:09

Gosh, the kids grow fast at Downton. Lady Mary's son will be shaving and singing baritone by Christmas.

LineRunner · 09/11/2014 21:09

Sorry I mean, there again seems to have been a missing episode.

millimat · 09/11/2014 21:12

Just missed what the Prince asked granny?

qazxc · 09/11/2014 21:12

Is he proposing to shack up with granny without marriage!

to be her friend and lover and for them to spend the rest of their lives together. He also said he wasn't going to bother divorcing as they weren't going to have children.

BOFster · 09/11/2014 21:14

Bates really enrages me. All that louche slouching in front of the police. So unseemly for a gentleman's valet.

minibmw2010 · 09/11/2014 21:15

All this fuss over one valet? Really??!?

smokeandfluff · 09/11/2014 21:16

Reckon the prince doesn't want to stay living in a hovel, violets house is nicer!

LineRunner · 09/11/2014 21:19

This has become surreal.

A 1924 police procedural (not) meets Lady Chatterley's lavender crinoline

minibmw2010 · 09/11/2014 21:21

Is the farmers wife going to steal Marigold??

TheBookofRuth · 09/11/2014 21:21

Child-free wedding then? Bet they have a poem asking for money instead of gifts too!

qazxc · 09/11/2014 21:22

I'm a bit Hmm at edith being worried about leaving marigold. That child has had more homes and "mummies" that hot dinners.

minibmw2010 · 09/11/2014 21:24

Poor Lady Rose having that mother !!!

CaulkheadUpNorth · 09/11/2014 21:24

Quite late in but can I jump in and and join?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 09/11/2014 21:25

What's going to be the beef with the new footman then?
