For continued waffling... Smile

I suppose he would only be regarded as divorced in Germany. In the UK he would still be considered married.

So if he married Poor Edith in Germany their marriage would not be recognised back home and Poor Marigold would be illegitimate anyway.

I am totally making this shit up.

diddl · 05/11/2014 16:30

No that kind of (sadly) makes sense!

I don't know.

If it were my family they'd have lived together, had kids & damn what anyone thought!Grin

SmatteringOfPatois · 05/11/2014 20:41

on a slight tangent, anyone else think that blog of the day baby --> is a ringer for baby bates Grin.

SmatteringOfPatois · 05/11/2014 20:42

oh my, now that I've posted the -> is pointing at Jo Brand, oh wait a minute!?!?!?

SockQueen · 05/11/2014 23:47

Anyone else feel that nothing much has really happened this series? We thought Mary might marry one of the interchangeable blokes... didn't happen. Thought Tom might run off and start the revolution with Miss Bunting...nope. Cora have a scandalous affair with Richard E Grant...no, just some tedious chat about paintings. Rose's new bloke is cute but relatively underwhelming. And the rest of it just seems to be dragged out from the previous series.

diddl · 06/11/2014 08:01

I think the only thing that has ever been settled is that there is now a Downton heir!

limitedperiodonly · 06/11/2014 16:17

It's just been commissioned for a sixth season.

It's amazing because it's going nowhere, thought that said, I'll watch it.

squoosh · 06/11/2014 16:22

Good grief, how can they drag it out for yet another series?

Isis isn't the only one that needs to be put down.

diddl · 06/11/2014 16:27

Well Mary is so irresistible that there must be another series worth of suitorsHmmGrin

They're all fascinated by her magic vagina that can kill a Turk with one touch.

I'm sure the major cast members get paid very well. If I was a certain age, which I am, I'd be taking the work and stashing the money away too.

I always admired Bill Treacher (Arthur in EastEnders) for just plodding along and banking the money and then bowing out.

William Roache has done the same thing in Coronation Street. Though I admire him somewhat less.

limitedperiodonly · 06/11/2014 16:50

It's never been established that the magic orifice is a vagina.

Hakluyt · 06/11/2014 18:02

Good lord- she hasn't got a vagina has she? Where does she keep it?

Fiderer · 06/11/2014 18:08

She keeps it in a button box. Or next to The Device.
Poor Anna.

LineRunner · 06/11/2014 18:12

Maybe it IS the device.

Fiderer · 06/11/2014 18:32

I'm more concerned about Marigold in the Downtown Nursery. Remember the evil nursery woman who was mean to Sybbie? Can't imagine it'll be much fun for Marigold being the pore peasant orphan girl.

I reckon they should have gone for "American orphaned distant niece of Cora" so that the poor love gets an egg for her tea every now and then.

diddl · 06/11/2014 18:36

Yes, how is it going to work with Marigold?

Will edith carry on working in London, & how long before Cora's/edith's attitudes towards Marigold give it all away?

Lottiedoubtie · 06/11/2014 18:55

About ten minutes if the preview can be believed Wink

LineRunner · 06/11/2014 19:02

Ah yes, 'Call me granny' might be a bit of a giveaway.

anonacfr · 06/11/2014 19:18

limited you beat me to it. Grin

I still can't get over the fact that Mary was worried about her reputation in Liverpool but is happy to snog someone in public with the whole of London watching and her self-styled fiancé just shrugs and smiles and walks off with his dumped never loved fiancée who he is now madly in love with.

And yes I am giving myself a headache just typing that.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 06/11/2014 19:32

Mabel Lane-Fox seems a reasonably sensible woman, I can't see why she's settling for Mary's sloppy seconds (neither of whom were very special even before they dumped her for Lady M).

Chippednailvarnish · 06/11/2014 21:07

Would love Mary and Mabel to have a Dynasty style cat fight.
Would make things so much more interested!

citruslemon · 06/11/2014 22:37

Tony wouldn't accept Mary saying no to him, then sees her kissing another man in what he knows is a blatant set-up and then he walks away so blasé :/
