He found Rose on Facebook I thought? I thought he realised she was the only person he'd used the name Peter with so he assumed she'd come forward. He knew her name and I think when you saw him look for her, she had double barrelled her name and her married name.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 17/11/2014 01:20

Definitely agree about the creepiness. It was masterly done. So many edge of the seat moments even though there was no reason for it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/11/2014 12:38

Yes he googled rose and she came up with married name and where she worked - as ga said I know your name is Peter and said in newspaper people helping Spector obv worked out it was rose and then went after her

LaurieMarlow · 17/11/2014 13:08

Just caught up with this last night, so glad it's back.

Totally agree that his entry into Rose's house and the interaction with her little girl stretched credulity somewhat (in a way that series 1 avoided).

But I'm enjoying the development of Spector's character. His cool is unravelling and you can see the mania starting to build. I loved his arrogance in the train scene and the way they're playing with the 'he's too pretty to be a killer' trope. That poor blonde girl. Her life expectancy just shortened dramatically (murdered by episode 2? 3? Who's taking bets?)

But I don't feel we got the same development from Stella. Last series I thought she was even more fascinating and desirable than Spector. But I didn't get much of that enigmatic character this episode, she seemed more pedestrian. The hairband moment was a nice taster, but it just didn't build from there.

AppleYumYum · 17/11/2014 13:49

It's so creepy but I loved the last season and I thought last night was great.

Did anyone think that the babysitter biting his lip when she kissed him was significant? Is she going to quickly put his blood on a tissue or something and it will tie in with DNA found on the scissors just pulled out of the river?

R4roger · 17/11/2014 13:57

i thought the woman in the house with daughter was something to do with woman who is chatting to gillian anderson about peter, not the blond woman on the train ?
confused, dont think i will bother

mausmaus · 17/11/2014 14:00

blond woman had the newspaper with the police information (and the efit picture). she's (not yet?) relevant to the story other than showing peter's cockiness.

R4roger · 17/11/2014 14:06

oops, shoudl have rtft, Rose is the right person, i assumed people above were talking about girl on train

he was cocky on the train wasnt he

MillionPramMiles · 17/11/2014 14:36

I'm afraid I think I agree with the Guardian article...there's an air of glamourising violence against women (and JD) which leaves me feeling a bit uncomfortable and an over emphasis on Gillian's appearance/underwear.

I was really hoping The Fall would be a UK version of The Killing (Danish version), that series refused to make either the female detective or the killer glamourous or overly attractive in any way. The violence was largely left to the imagination rather than being filmed in lurid detail.

GA is a fabulous actor though, the script is excellent and the filming is suitably creepy. Bit disappointed though as had high hopes.

CoolCadbury · 17/11/2014 18:07

I'm sure that I will be spectacularly wrong but I don't think Paul will go after the blonde on the train.

rootypig · 17/11/2014 20:31

Good post Laurie, I agree. As far as GA character goes, I was irritated by the conversation in the car with the pathologist, which I thought was beneath them both. I wish they'd let the shag with Olson go.

YonicScrewdriver · 18/11/2014 01:52

Finally caught up on s1 and this!

YonicScrewdriver · 18/11/2014 19:15

What happened to the brain damage they thought Annie would have? She seems to be physically "fine" after just a few days.

YonicScrewdriver · 18/11/2014 19:15

Apple, yes I thought that too.

rootypig · 18/11/2014 21:37

Yes Annie's recovery was one of the things that irritated Yonic. Really didn't seem necessary to the plot to have her so perky either.

YonicScrewdriver · 18/11/2014 21:57

Quite - why say she was so badly injured in the first place if they wanted her up and talking normally quickly afterwards?

YonicScrewdriver · 18/11/2014 21:58

And would the Alice Monroe fund really send out a circular letter to bereavement counsellors at their home addresses??

CoolCadbury · 20/11/2014 17:40

Sorry, can you just remind me who Annie is?

YonicScrewdriver · 20/11/2014 17:44

She is the victim who didn't die at the end of s1.

Cocolepew · 20/11/2014 17:52

I found GA very irritating in ep1, too many lingering looks and being icy.
Jamie is still a treat to look at Smile

GColdtimer · 20/11/2014 18:56

Dh is out tonight - can I watch it alone? Trailer has GA looking frazzled for once.

CruCru · 20/11/2014 21:33

Is anyone really uncomfortable watching Paul / Peter counsel the surviving woman?

WipsGlitter · 20/11/2014 21:37

My favourite place too! Tropical Ravine!

rootypig · 20/11/2014 21:48

This babysitter thing is getting ludicrous. I can understand that she would be inthrall to him - but that makes no sense with her clear eyed gathering of the facts

CruCru · 20/11/2014 21:50

Yeah but she's young. I took ridiculous risks when I was 16, things I wouldn't do now.
