I agree - I thought the crossing of boundaries to undo the policewoman's hair grated. But then I also thought that scene where Paul Spectre was on the train and takes the young woman's paper was very unlikely. If a random had nicked my paper and joked about looking like a serial killer, I would think he was nuts be very guarded, however good-looking he was, and certainly not chat away about where I lived etc.

I feel like I'm being quite critical on this thread (while still watching!). I am enjoying it, and definitely want to like Stella, which is why I think when they get it wrong, it is so jarring.

I liked the 'taking a break from feminism link' Sabrina . Definitely true.

Oh, and could anyone possibly summarise Spector's parents / the adoption thing and where the horrible priest fitted in? I didn't quite follow who the North London couple adopted etc.

The priest is in prison in Ireland for child abuse, in charge of children's homes Spector was in (for definite?)?

I'm not sure he was arrested, I think they grabbed him after seeing a movement thinking he was Spector than just got him out of the way.

At one point I thought they were saying Olsen was Spector and he'd escaped in the van and to go after him. I was thinking "you've got it all wrong as he's in front of you".

Stella touching Gail's hair I found irritating and unbelievable. If someone did that to me my hand would have shot up to my hair whilst I was saying that it's ok I can do it myself. Particularly if it was a boss!

Priest was hideous. Interview was a waste of time and frustrating to watch.

Top dog Beardy Copper is annoying and about as a useful as a chocolate fireguard.

I really hope they wrap it up next week and I hope that Sally-Anne finds out that there wasn't an affair however he is a serial sexual predator.

I think that Spector will only agree to reveal Rose's whereabouts face to face with GA. And he'll play her, like that famous scene with Hannibal Lector and Clarice (funny how GA's now in Hannibal!)
Maybe he'll only agree if he takes them to the spot himself, and then Hannibal style , escape and phone saying he's had Rose's kidneys with fava beans. (or will top himself) (but would make for better tv if he escapes)

Stella reaching for the hair really creeped me out and struck a wrong note.

It's just possible that she would do that, but if it happened to you, you would surely recoil, even if you didn't say anything because she was your superior.

Unless you welcomed the intimate attention, in which case you would respond.

alltoomuchrightnow It was liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti. I liked the brain-eating sequence with Ray Liotta.

Agree that I think he'll end up wangling his way into being alone with Stella and attacking her somewhere dark and remote and completely unbelievable.

I reckon he'll keep make a deal that he'll only show Rose's location if he goes alone with Stella. Police will agree, even if risking S's life to save R. Rose will be found very close to death from dehydration/ hunger but go on to make full recovery. PS will then kill himself or escape.
Of course I' m just speculating though!

But we knew that (re boundaries) from the start by how she just saw Olsen and wanted him (and did something about it). he was extremely fit though

can some one answer for me.. the first girl... Monroe.. DID PS kill her? do we know for sure? (if so, how do we know?) and what was that bit in first series with the prostitutes being beaten up ? what was that all about?

can someone help me understand, why couldn't they arrest him at his house after ceiling collapsed and all that secretive searching going on (thought they had no warrant), yet suddenly they could arrest him in the park? Just because they've caught Benedetto girl? but they haven't searched her at that point.
The other thing - why on earth did he keep his phone on him with videos of Rose when he guessed that he's being followed? quite an astute thing from him and yet do something as stupid as keep the recordings on him? also to trust the girl to dispose of the tape in the hotel - he must have thought she could be followed too! Again, not sure they had a right to arrest the girl just like that.

I think that they didn't arrest him initially because they were hoping he would lead them to Rose. Stella said 'it's high risk (not to arrest him straight away), but I think it's a risk we should take'.

Then he did run, and he was clearly onto them following him, so they arrested him.

Don't know why he didn't delete the stuff on his phone though.

I thought the surveillance scenes were fascinating. I'd love to do that for a job!
