I'm assuming he left when they were in the bathroom and Stella was cleaning his beard.

hollyisalovelyname · 03/12/2014 19:05

2 top detectives and they didn't hear him escape.......yeah right Wink

hollyisalovelyname · 03/12/2014 19:06

I thought the wife beater was a great actor- truly intimidating.

alltoomuchrightnow · 03/12/2014 20:34

it's such a shame that Olson was killed off. He was HOT. Can't blame Stella for jumping in like that... even hotter than JD really.

rootypigsinblankets · 03/12/2014 21:45

seconded alltoomuch, I nearly fainted when his shirt came off and rewatched once or twice

alltoomuchrightnow · 04/12/2014 03:22

yep me too! and he's not a known actor; not done much, which is a real shame!

SpidersDontWashTheirHands · 04/12/2014 16:35

2 top detectives and they didn't hear him escape.......yeah right

They're rubbish the pair of them Grin

LeBearPolar · 04/12/2014 18:50

rootypig - DH agrees with you about Stella's outfits: he was raging about her shoes last week and the fact that they were completely impractical for a police officer who might conceivably have to chase someone at some point Grin Mind you, Stella just drifts around languidly looking cross most of the time so...

VashtaNerada · 04/12/2014 19:37

I don't think being a police officer gives you super hearing! It's not that implausible he slipped out. I'm also not convinced you do much running once you become Detective Supt, you get a minion to do that for you Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 04/12/2014 19:46

She has worn flat shoes and trousers when out of the office though...

rootypigsinblankets · 04/12/2014 19:51

LeBear your DH and I are as one, I had a smallish rant at own DH about the shoes. She wears them at crime scenes too! She had them on at the Brawley house Yonic. Anyway even if she weren't a police officer I would raise an eyebrow. They look absurdly painful.

On the other hand I feel totally plausible that he slipped out. People tend to hear what they're listening for. Hearing is a very interesting sense indeed, in that regard.

LeBearPolar · 04/12/2014 19:57

Plus, she'd just whacked whatshisname (what is his name?) in the nose to stop him attacking her, so probably not on the alert for men sneaking out of her cupboard right at that point.

I have NO recollection of the other storyline (the whole corruption/Monroe/Olsen thing). Can anyone fill me in, really briefly? I thought I wouldn't have to think about it again but then whatshisname came in all stressed about it...

rootypigsinblankets · 04/12/2014 20:10

Jim Grin

Er other storyline. Monroe jar's wife was murdered by Spector. First one. Monroe Sr is VIP (do we know what he is?). Monroe Jr was running some drug / prostitution / nasty racket with the help and protection of Olson and his partner. Following Olson's death and his partner's suicide, the police got wind of said racket. Jim then warned Monroe Sr about the investigation (he had a ruck with DCI whatshisface who is now Stella's deputy), and Monroe Sr arranged for Monroe Jr to flee. I think Monroe Sr knows his son is a worm but other than protecting him is not corrupt himself - but not sure.

I think that's about it.

rootypigsinblankets · 04/12/2014 20:10

Monroe Jr Hmm thanks autocorrect

LeBearPolar · 04/12/2014 20:21

Ooh, it's ringing some vague bells! Thank you very much. I am not sure why that story is still rumbling on: I do feel that mad serial killer plus mad baby sitter plus Stella's shoes and blouses are more than enough for us to cope with. It's not as if the viewers are going: well, this is a bit slow-moving and shit, I wish there was a nice prostitution and drugs storyline to liven it all up a bit...

rootypigsinblankets · 04/12/2014 20:34

I have found it a slightly irritating distraction - I think it's the odd, unexplored connection to Spector that rankles. I'm hoping that the two are brought together in some interesting way. Which presumably they will be, now our resident maniac is up to speed Hmm Jim really is a muppet, he's so droopy, goodness only knows how he got as far as he did Grin

hollyisalovelyname · 04/12/2014 20:39

I find my heart hammers a little from the start of the programme - the tension.
Enjoy tonight's episode those of you not in RTE tv land.
Looking forward to our virtual water cooler discussion after the programme airs in UK tonight

YonicScrewdriver · 04/12/2014 20:48

Why an unexplored connection, rooty? I think she was his first victim he found via a professional website.

Just for completeness, she was an ex wife of Monroe junior and I believe Monroe senior is a politician and is on the police commission board or something similar...

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2014 21:04

Yes unsuitable shoes just as the lady doc in casualty is always in dress and high heels - for a 10-12hr shift always on her feet - silly !!!!

Read somewhere about the fall in tv mag and even they mentioned her sexy blouses !!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2014 21:04

It's on !!!!!!

Whoop !!!!

Bakeoffcakes · 04/12/2014 21:22

Why don't they arrest him NOW!

PeppermintPasty · 04/12/2014 21:24

WHY DIDNT THEY ARREST HIM INTHE BLOODY HOSPITAL!!! ARRRGH.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 04/12/2014 21:24

Exactly! They have plenty rnough evidence to arrest him, ffs! Series 1 so good. And this one? Rapidly downhill

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 04/12/2014 21:25
