Ok- I know it is Friday, but with MN going off-line tomorrow until 2pm-ish, I might forget.

She’s The One

Paul Akister (Flobbie)
Ghost

Toxic

Lauren Platt was she Shoey?
Happy

Stephanie Nala Can't remember what we called her...

And if that wasn't enough, the judges get to choose Wildcards - so

Louis picked the Wildcard for the girls
Cheryl for the Overs
Simon picked the boy's one
and Mel picked the Group

I can tell you now what they picked...or will people get angsty about Spoilers (although we don't usually care)?

slithytove · 10/10/2014 19:58

I want to know the wild cards Grin since I answered first do I win?

Interesting Cheryl got the overs choice. I wonder if that's so she could avoid bringing back Raign, or so Simon could force her to.

slithytove · 10/10/2014 19:59

Just googled, yay for the overs choice! Girls choice predictable but I'd have preferred someone else. No recollection of the other 2 acts.

Raahh · 10/10/2014 20:05

slithy just for you Wine and Cake

SPOILERS***
(cos this place makes me paranoid sometimesGrin)

The Overs- Stevi Ritchie(Sweep/Melty)
The Girls- Lola Saunders (Fishy)- let the makeover commence!
The Boys - Jack Walton(can't remember who he was)

and

The Groups-OVERLOAD
who were allowed after they tweaked the rules because all the other bands groups were shit and we predicted this would happen ages ago

Grin

I'm gutted Pugsy is singing Earth Song. I hate it with a passion.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 10/10/2014 20:08

Which one was Jack? Confused

Raahh · 10/10/2014 20:15

I hate @Earth Song' too- and am worried about cheesy staging with scantily clad women pretending to be animals. Pugsy doesn't seem the scantily clad women type, it will embarrass him.

I will also get cross if they credit 'She's the One' to the Original Flobbie.

I cannot remember who Jack Walton was- I think he may have had a guitar fails to narrow it down.

Poor Fleur singing 'All about the Bass'- for starters it's a very recent song, and i assumed from the lyrics it was about being happy to be big (which Fleur isn't). Well, her hair is.

And Bridge over troubled Water- AGAIN???

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2014 20:20

'changing' is also a recent song- with a female vocal, that I really can't see Clunt singing. Maybe they are setting him up to go crosses fingers.

This is funny too- i found a list of the songs that people never, ever want to hear on X Factor again. I think we would agree with most.
(shamelessly nicked from telly mix)

Prince’s Purple Rain
Unless you’re going to better Ruth Lorenzo, don’t bother.

Anything by Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey
Add in Celine Dion too while we’re at it. Done to Death.

Anything by Emeli Sandé
Clown and Read All About It especially.

Say Something
We’ve heard this at least three times already this year.

Listen and And I Am Telling You
Even if you can nail these songs, we’d much prefer to hear something new.

Relight My Fire
And all other ridiculously tenuous ‘Halloween’ songs.

Feeling Good
Need we say more?

Most Adele tracks
In particular Someone Like You and Make You Feel My Love.

A Thousand Years and Jar of Hearts
Christina Perri has a lot to thank The X Factor for.

Bleeding Love
It just never works

Any we would add?

I'll add Earth Song to the list Grin

Was Jack the one who was very nervous at Judges Houses?

rockpink · 10/10/2014 21:13

Fishy is back? yay!

Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:37

Yes- Earth Song is just too crap- and really, unless Jarvis is going to moon at the stage, where is the point? Grin

Jack might have been the nervous one- or the too young one? There's always a 'too young' one.

I'm glad Fishy is back, so we can get as many puns in per performance as we can.

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:38

I will also add

'At last'

to the list. Acts like Fakey always do 'At Last'

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:39

And I can't work out if this week has a tenuous theme .

OP posts:
slithytove · 10/10/2014 21:41

I wanted foot locker back

BiscuitMillionaire · 10/10/2014 21:44

I was just about to post that the theme is Movies, but then I realised, oh no, that's Strictly Blush

Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:46

Of course, lauren wasn't Footlocker. I got confused.

Was Lauren the young one?

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:47

The theme is 'Songs by acts that have released anything, anywhere, at anytime in the past. in a death metal stylee '

OP posts:
NoisyBrain · 10/10/2014 21:48

Raahh what rule was tweaked to allow Overload through?

Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:51

I think- assuming what I read is correct- that they always wanted Overload back, so decided to allow acts from Bootcamp to be considered as wildcards. Of course only Overload was ever going to be coming back from Bootcamp- and the rest of the groups were dreadful anyway.

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2014 21:53

BiscuitGrin

There is still time for that..

Remember Marcus and the song no-one remembered being from Ghostbusters 2 or something else that nobody watched? Nope, neither do I Grin

Only the Young are just so lovely. And they can sing. And teen girls love them.

I say this as I do backstage work and I've looked after lots of people this year. OTY were just delightful and if they were my kids I'd have been so proud. In fact I am proud of them for getting this far, they take it VERY seriously.

wellnowthenmardybum · 10/10/2014 22:02

How have I missed these threads? Live shows seems as good time as any to join.

Raahh · 10/10/2014 22:03

That's good to hear, Awks - i just hope they are treated well. I always feel for the groups- regardless of their original style, they end up dressed bizarrely.
(You aren't a stylist are you? Grin).
