although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it Hmm

Agree with being 'touched' by something, it's good to be stirred up every once in a while!

I've actually been watching the pilot episode damn you DH coming home and still really enjoying the insight! I know its not real and accurate but I like the thought in basic training that they might go to war graves, and reflect a bit on the whole process.

threadNneedle · 24/10/2014 15:43

OK please save me from watching the first 3 episodes again. Can you help me answer my aimless daydreaming today..

When do you think Molly and Captain James each realised that their feelings had gone from 'bonus, attractive colleague that I can flirt/let my guard down with' to 'oh crap, I am so hopelessly fucked!'

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 16:10

threadneedle...I think the moment that he realised how much he was actually falling for her was in his tent when he called her Dawesy.

I saw the wink the first time I watched them singing-it actually made my heart melt a little bit. And he has some moves and a not bad singing voice either.

BrodiesBabe · 24/10/2014 16:13

I love the wink!

I think he fell hard at the end of the first ep after the dramatic rescue thing and he said to himself about it being completely awesome. I think she fell as soon as he stepped out and called them all cockwombles. I would. Wink

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 16:18

God yes I would as well...its the look they give each other when they are lining up for the first photo as well.

Can someone please explain Twitter to me? Ive joined up and followed Ben but I can't see much...is there supposed to be something else Im doing?

slightly scared that Im becoming a bit of a stalker

IssyStark · 24/10/2014 16:50

Likewise if someone could explain tumblr (I just don't understand it - god I'm getting old!)

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 17:01

Nope I don't get tumblr either so that makes 2 of us Issy!

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 17:04

Really hope this works...new video I just found!

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 17:07

Im so pleased I found it cause it's got loads from the last episode in it which non of the others have!

Smurfingreat · 24/10/2014 17:16

Link works perfectly Ihearttc Flowers.

I don't understand tumblr either!

After having watched all the episodes out of order in the last couple of days I'm not quite sure when I think they fell for each other. Oh well, I'll have to watch them again...

Thanks to all of you for cheering up my tedious stuck at home feeling ill day. Especially laughing at deleting photos of children and questioning the staff in the Nespresso shop! Grin. You are all amazing.

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 17:20

Phew...I'm a complete technophobe so only worked out how to do links this week!

PassTheSherry · 24/10/2014 17:28

Hello - I think I need to join the ranks of those who are afflicted with a Captain James obsession! Saw the last episode last weekend and have since gone back through the rest and watched, and watched again. Yes it's a load of tosh but it's enjoyable tosh, and...I can't actually take my eyes off the screen whenever the Captain appears. Where on earth has he been hiding?!

Anyway, in the course of my 'research' (ahem) - have found this in case anyone might be interested! Who's going? Grin

Try again!

BrodiesBabe · 24/10/2014 17:43

iheart - Gorgeous vid. Thanks so much for finding. May just have to put it on repeat!

PassTheSherry -welcome to the Captain James Club! Be warned though, it's a bit like the Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave! Wink. And thanks for that link to the carol service. Oh, wish I lived in London!! There's no way I can go then. :-(

mandy214 · 24/10/2014 18:01

OMG Smile iheart my favourite video so far!!

And Ben Aldridge supporting a concert for sick children perfect father material?? The lines between Capt James and Ben might be blurring Grin

At school collection today, another mum mentioned that teacher had gone "above and beyond". It was like word association, before I knew it I said "Like Molly? Please tell me you've been watching Our Girl". Alas, the answer was no. I have told her she has to watch it so here's hoping!

ihearttc · 24/10/2014 18:06

I know mandy214 mine too.

It's just perfect-she has done a couple of the other ones as well so she clearly is a huge fan and very talented.

jcscot · 24/10/2014 18:09

Going to war graves is part of basic training for all ranks (my husband went as a cadet and again as DS at RMAS). It's considered important both from the point of learning about particular conflicts/battles/strategy and for remembrance and reflection on sacrifice and the real costs of war.

Trips to battlefields are also common after training when the OC or CO decides it's appropriate for development and reflection.

lyndie · 24/10/2014 18:31

That's just awful I'm in London the following week!! I might not have been able to contain myself!!

NappyValleyMum I'd come as well but unfortunately live 100 miles away from London. DH works in the city though... Could always make an excuse to pop down to meet him from work the night of the carol concert. Think he might wonder what on earth I'm doing though!

I think my infatuation from CJ is spilling over to Ben as well mainly because he seems so nice. I know that's not a great word but I get the impression that he'd be completely lovely and very genuine...and probably completely shocked to have all these adoring fans.

mandy214 · 24/10/2014 19:17

nappy tickets 'for the family' ? That made me laugh out loud Grin

furcoatbigknickers · 24/10/2014 20:02

I'm back. I would love all that first love stuff with dh, but it doesn't work like that. I did make me realise we need a break away together soon. Also made me think about my dreams and how maybe i can achieve them.

furcoatbigknickers · 24/10/2014 20:03

Ahhh hes going to be a the carol concert. I think i would wetmyself with excitment.Shock

mandy214 · 24/10/2014 20:22

Do you think he knows? I think his tweet on Sunday night said honoured to have been a part of it, overwhelmed at the response. I bet he didn't think almost a week later we'd still be going strong. I think its a good job I live in Manchester, otherwise I would definitely go. The charity might have an unexpected run on tickets Smile. In reality, I'd only be able to gaze at him from afar to see if he was as lovely in real life as he was in OG. In a braver world, I'd be in the same row of seat in my old TA combats with Ditto written on my forehead Grin.
