I believe it's back on Sunday. Hurray!

I really hope though that they focus more on Edith and less on Mary and her boring, all look the samey, suitors.

Grin limited

LineRunner · 27/10/2014 10:04

The scene with Lady Violet' s snobby butler attempting to talk about her undergarments was bloody ridiculous.

MindReader · 27/10/2014 10:22

YEA!

Edith rescued her Dd.

Edith will now be Independent Publisher and Single Mum. YEA. V happy.

Grin

(agree discussion between staff and Lady V re undergarments simply wouldn't have happened. Or she would have got rid of them).

This series is a real let down so far.

minibmw2010 · 27/10/2014 10:47

Poor violet is sad about losing her companion

MardyBra · 27/10/2014 10:51

Hello downtonies. Just wondered if you could help me. I can't remember if we actually saw who pushed wotsit off eastenders under the bus. Is Mr Bates lying to anna about not going to London, or do we genuinely not know.

Tia.

Abra1d · 27/10/2014 10:53

The real issued with the point-to-point scene was that they were all using the forward seat. If you look at photos of people taking jumps in the twenties, they all used the backwards seat.

WhereTheWildlingsAre · 27/10/2014 10:56

We didn't see the incident at all. It was reported to the Abbey as an accident but, since then, a witness has come forward saying that wotsit off Eastenders turned and said something like 'ooh what are you doing here?!' Just before he went under the bus.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 27/10/2014 11:04

There's another thread running, I think in AIBU about the extremist Labrador, where someone has posted a really good theory about who killed the rapist butler bloke. I toyed with posting the theory & claiming the glory, but I couldn't at look myself in the mirror if I did that...

Wink
MardyBra · 27/10/2014 11:04

Thanks wildlings. Mind you, it is a big coincidence that he gets pushed under a bus on the day that Bates plans to murder him and then decides against it. I wonder if Mrs Hughes has hung onto the ticket or something.

EduCated · 27/10/2014 12:08

Ahem, I think you'll find I posted roughly the same theory up thread Grin Actuay it was DP who suggested it

There will be shameless self-glory if I'm right!

maizieD · 27/10/2014 12:30

@Abra1d

Yes, I thought that, too but the riding doubles would really have imperilled themselves if they'd tried it, I'm sure. And it might have caused a welfare issue about the horses (I always think it looks so cruel to horses, hanging onto their mouths for balance Sad )

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2014 12:33

Didn't Mary burn something pertaining to the journey or have I gone mad?

Or was it Mrs. Hughes? I seem to vaguely remember one of them hmmming ans ahhhing about the morals of keeping information to oneself and then I thought the ticket was thrown into the fire.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/10/2014 12:34

hmmming and* ahhhing

Aladyinsane · 27/10/2014 12:40

I think the reason why Bates was so angry with Anna for using contraception was because she didn't want to have a baby with her murderer husband.

He chilled out once he talked her down about him being a murderer, because he was angry about her judgement of him rather than her use of secret contraception.

MamaMed · 27/10/2014 12:41

Yes I think lady Mary burnt it.

Tbh downton storyline is getting boring now.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 27/10/2014 12:41

Apologies educated, I've made the shameless faux pas of not reading the whole of this thread so hadn't seen your post.

Baxter will have to come good in the end. 'Tis a far far better thing that I do now than JF ever wrote before'.

limitedperiodonly · 27/10/2014 13:24

Who are Lily and Madge? I don't remember them but they seem to be working there.

EduCated · 27/10/2014 13:43

Tension T'is fine, but I will be doing my 'I was right' dance if it turns out I am indeed right Grin

TSSpectreDNCOntheParanormal · 27/10/2014 13:51

I believe that it was Tony Gillingham that bumped off Mr Green as it cleared the way for him and Mary.

But I believe that it will be Anna who hangs for it.

SirChenjin · 27/10/2014 13:52

No - Anna hangs??? Shock

diddl · 27/10/2014 13:57

"I believe that it was Tony Gillingham that bumped off Mr Green as it cleared the way for him and Mary."

Bit drastic, wouldn't her just sack him??

TSSpectreDNCOntheParanormal · 27/10/2014 13:58

I reckon so SirC. They can't pin it on anyone else, and it won't take them much longer to find out about the rape surely.

I reckon Lady Rose will be turned down because of her parents pending divorce rather than religion or the Crawleys.

TSSpectreDNCOntheParanormal · 27/10/2014 13:59

Diddl not definitive enough. Gillingham is going to turn out to be rather bonkers I reckon.
