I believe it's back on Sunday. Hurray!

I really hope though that they focus more on Edith and less on Mary and her boring, all look the samey, suitors.

Aladyinsane · 02/11/2014 22:05

Aladyinsane · 02/11/2014 22:06

*apologise for rogue 'in' as well... It's late!

rockpinkpumpkin · 02/11/2014 22:08

Aww I almost shed a tear at lovely Rose getting engaged and at poor Isis ...

Oblique27 · 02/11/2014 22:11

I had tears in my eyes about Isis, the most moving part of the series so far, maybe Mr Fellowes has learnt the public don't like the human characters killed off! Any one else spot that this episode is set in 1924 and Winnie the
Pooh ( poo sticks) not published till 1926? (sad I know of me)

thenightsky · 02/11/2014 22:21

I too questioned the Pooh sticks! Very sloppy of Mr JF.

Poor Isis Sad killed off due to her name.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 02/11/2014 22:26

Well, to be fair, she is very old. There's a lot of chat on the new thread, btw.

EduCated · 02/11/2014 22:29

Did they actually call it Pooh Sticks? I wasn't paying attention.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 02/11/2014 22:31

No, they didn't, so the way is clear for AA Milne to stay at Downton and observe Tom and Sybbie with a Eureka! expression on his face.

anonacfr · 04/11/2014 17:53

Ok v late here but I am totally baffled by the Gillingham/Mary resolution.

One minute he's determined to marry her against her will then he's back in love with the fiancée he was never in love with to start with, then he sees Mary snog his bestie in a v public place (talk about reputation) and he just smiles and shrugs and beaks it off? WTF????

SirChenjin · 04/11/2014 18:03

I know - makes no sense whatsoever. I wonder if Julian just writes the script from week to week and changes the storyline as the mood takes him?!

diddl · 04/11/2014 18:24

I did think though that although Mary told Tony that she didn't want to marry, she was stringing it out.

Didn't CB say that to her?

And she said to Mabel LF "I won't let him go that easily"??!!

anonacfr · 04/11/2014 19:02

When Mary was trying to break it off he kept insisting they had to marry and that he had been in love with her for years and all of a sudden he is in love with the ex fiancée and is only with Mary out of duty.

His reaction (rather than hers) didn't make sense.
