I believe it's back on Sunday. Hurray!

I really hope though that they focus more on Edith and less on Mary and her boring, all look the samey, suitors.

Does the farmer know the baby is hers?

TheBookofRuth · 19/10/2014 21:54

I'd quite like Edith to just take her daughter and run.

TheBookofRuth · 19/10/2014 21:55

Yes, the farmer knows. It's the worst kept secret in Yorkshire by this point!

minibmw2010 · 19/10/2014 21:56

Yes the farmer has said he realised it was hers. I don't know why they don't let Edith keep her, she's clearly not going to marry at her age, she's older and they could cope with it (well bar Lord Grantham I'm guessing).

TheBookofRuth · 19/10/2014 21:56

Oo-er!

millimat · 19/10/2014 21:56

Nono!

minibmw2010 · 19/10/2014 21:56

I thought there was something about Mr Bricker that was bad !!!!!

MirrorMirror · 19/10/2014 21:57

Thank God that Bunting woman has gone! Don't like the idea of Tom and Mary either, he is far too nice for her!

EduCated · 19/10/2014 21:57

Bloody hell, this series is so jumpy. I
Can't keep track of what's happening.

minibmw2010 · 19/10/2014 21:58

This series has way too many little stories going on and none of substance.

tribpot · 19/10/2014 21:58

Ha classic discovery in the bedroom. Surely Robert would have challenged him to a duel, not giving him a slap upside the head?

TheBookofRuth · 19/10/2014 22:00

The Bates have been good to Barrow in the past, why does he have such a vendetta against them?

minibmw2010 · 19/10/2014 22:00

Oh no, he wants a bandage, Mr Bates is going to find Lady Mary's contraception

EduCated · 19/10/2014 22:00

Loving Barrow's 'drug addict' make up. Very subtle.

minibmw2010 · 19/10/2014 22:01

Wobert as usual being an arse and ignoring poor Cora.

tribpot · 19/10/2014 22:06

Cora and Edith are gonna Thelma and Louise it at this rate. Branson can drive.

He didn't seem overly concerned about the departure of Miss Bunting but gave her a kiss on the lips anyway, WTF.

And the trailer for next week "do you think I'm a murderer?" gawd not a-bloody-gain.

Pico2 · 19/10/2014 22:06

If Anna and Bates were going to have children, wouldn't they have had one by now? I'm not great with the chronology of Downton, but they have been together forever.

Anna and Bates married in 1919 (who among us will forget the sight of them in flagrante the following morning) and it's now 1924. Anna is now 38. I don't see hordes of children in their future, unfortunately.

mineallmine · 19/10/2014 22:25

I missed a bit of last Sunday's episode. Did we hear the reason Miss Baxter stole the jewellery from the house she used to work in?

EduCated · 19/10/2014 22:28

Would women have continued working 5 years after marriage at that point in time? And would have been very unusual not to have children by that point?

phantomnamechanger · 19/10/2014 22:28

mine - she was in love, & thought the footman there was in love with her, they were going to run away together with the money from the robbery, which was his idea. he was a shit and left her.

tribpot · 19/10/2014 22:37

I think married servants would have been incredibly rare, but then so would marrying the servants, tolerating homosexuals and felons and knocking off Turkish diplomats. In JF's world this was all quite normal and, presumably, the sign of a society in good order.

Nancy66 · 19/10/2014 22:43

I've lost track of who knows Anna was raped?

Mrs Hughes knows I think. Does Mary or Mr Bates?

jedishelly1 · 19/10/2014 22:53

Mrs. Hughes knows the full details about Anna being raped and so does Mary. I think Bates knows that she was raped but not that it was Green.
