I believe it's back on Sunday. Hurray!

I really hope though that they focus more on Edith and less on Mary and her boring, all look the samey, suitors.

I'd have loved to be at the meeting where they got Anna Chancellor in and said.... 'Anna darling, what we're looking for is a shameless cougar who won't take no for an answer and has the footman scrubbed and sent up to her room.... Do you think you can do something with it?'

limitedperiodonly · 22/09/2014 15:07

Lord 6 is from a poster in season 1 or 2 - can't remember whom - whose G key wasn't working so pressed 6 instead. Or maybe it was just a repeated typo or pissed typing.

limitedperiodonly · 22/09/2014 15:11

I liked the way that Lord 6 was having a dalliance with a servant and Hugh Bonneville was required to answer a lot of questions about it at a Downton press conference.

Although I can't for the life of me remember why I found that amusing Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/09/2014 15:20

Just the xmas special is on iplayerConfused Sad

BeCool · 22/09/2014 15:24

oh drat! is it being repeated on TV during the week?

eddiemairswife · 22/09/2014 15:25

I think that at the time Lord Grantham was having a dalliance Hugh Bonneville was also having a dalliance that the press knew about but couldn't mention.

Nancy66 · 22/09/2014 15:25

Edith's bloke is going to turn up isn't he?

The idea that the servants and the toffs are big old mates is just ridiculous. Lady Mary telling Anna that she's up for a right good shagging.

eatyourveg · 22/09/2014 15:35

Perhaps Tom should marry Rose - just thought I'd throw that in. I think it would be a good match - she's posh enough and also not bothered so much with the them and us ideology

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/09/2014 15:35

Repeated next sun pm-have sky plussed!Grin

BoldFossil · 22/09/2014 15:36

i hope so. I think juuuuust at the point where the scandal of Edith's baby born out of wedlock is about to come out (probably barrow will go to the paper's) edith's man will return and they'll get married and that'll be enough to avert the worst of the scandal.

BoldFossil · 22/09/2014 15:36

Rose is a bit of a wishy washy character though. She just likes to shock, not much more to her than that.

limitedperiodonly · 22/09/2014 16:00

That's odd Dame. I watched it on the player at about 10am. Sometimes it plays up. I've had trouble playing programmes and then it gets sorted a few hours later.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/09/2014 16:06

Limited, I'm looking at iplayer on the telly, nothing! Odd!

LittleBearPad · 22/09/2014 16:17

Dame I absolutely mean this nicely - you are looking at itv player aren't you. It won't be on iplayer.

diddl · 22/09/2014 16:18

I think it's quite sad that Violet seems determined that Isobel shouldn't become lady Merton!

Isobel is already the GM of the future Earl, the chauffeur is the father of Sybbie & Edith's daughter is being brought up by a local farmer & his wife!

"The times they are a changin!"

BoldFossil · 22/09/2014 16:25

oh yeh, lord grantham and wayne rooney's regular prossie (or have i got that all wrong)

Cariad007 · 22/09/2014 16:43

I thought I spotted a certain Look between Tom and Rose and definitely between Edith and the pig farmer. She does like her farmers!

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 22/09/2014 16:50

So, if she's Editor of a big London Newspaper, why has she got nothing to do?!

I haven't the faintest idea Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 22/09/2014 16:51

Little bear-yes I'm looking at Itv player although I looked at iplayer earlierBlush Grin

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 22/09/2014 17:11

Isn't that farmer the same one she snogged during the war when she drove the tractor at the farm?

(Diff actress playing the wife)

I thought that was why she chose him to look after the baby - as they had a bit of previous, so to speak

Roobix04 · 22/09/2014 17:14

Not a bad episode but I really need Thomas to get what he deserves now!

GimmeMySquash · 22/09/2014 17:23

James Kent must have been gutted to be cut in episode 1 of this series.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 22/09/2014 17:46

Enjoyed it a lot as it's just right for 9 O'clock on Sunday night isn't it? A lovely period drama before the drama of my working week begins again on Monday morning!

Too many references to old story lines for me though - I can't keep up with it all, especially after such a long break. I need easing in gently with some easy, diverting new stuff.

Hope the writers, producers and directors are reading or I shall be very disappointed if they haven't taken my advice by next week Grin

Cariad007 · 22/09/2014 18:03

No, this is a different farmer. She's chosen him as she was impressed by how good he was with pigs. And apparently that qualifies him to raise her child somehow!

NoPaidWorkbutPlenty2Do · 22/09/2014 18:08

I want Anna and Bates to have a baby. We cannot be expected to believe that she still won't let him touch her after the rape by Mr Green. It's been three years! FFS! Hmmmm maybe an 'equal' to the Little Lord George and Lady Sybil when WWII comes about....
