I dare not post on the other thread - trying to keep two Who conversations separate and intact would fry my brain.

The souffle story was up there with the Greats. And then nothing, nothing, nothing until last Saturday. My DM phoned me and said she'd watched it and ebjoyed it but would have to wait for me or a child to tell her "what it was about...."

ABlandAndDeadlyCourtesy · 16/09/2014 01:20

Just watched it having hidden the threads till now.

Awesome. Or maybe Orson Grin

HolyQuadrityDrinkFeckArseGirls · 16/09/2014 07:19

Where is the other DW thread? Chat, telly addicts? What is it called?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/09/2014 07:41

Here you are Quad.

Davros · 16/09/2014 07:43

TV threads should not be in chat IMO so I'm going to ignore it. So there! Lah lah lah, I'm not listening

mummytime · 16/09/2014 09:11

Oh but one good thing came out of that thread. I just realised something.

The Doctor had seen the toy soldier before (when he was a child), so surely he would have recognised him when he was with Rupert, and then Orson?
The Doctor doesn't like soldiers, but he had a toy one (broken) as a child? His parents were thinking of sending him to train as a soldier?

There has to be a connection.

RustyDalek · 16/09/2014 17:32

Teenagers- the thing the Doctor said as he recovered consciousness was 'Sontarans perverting the course of human history' - which was also the first thing he said after he rengenerated from Three to Four. So another Classic Doctor quote along with 'Fear makes companions of us all'

Davros · 16/09/2014 21:44

Isn't anyone else traumatised after seeing Mickey Smith and River Song in bed together on Chasing Shadows Shock Tardis

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 22:07

Grin No more unlikley than Mickey ending up with Martha. Which would never happen.

jazzsyncopaton · 17/09/2014 00:10

lovvvvvvvvving the new doctor[more like the original]tho agreed the storylines vary

AnathemaIsANiceNameForAGirl · 17/09/2014 13:04

Brilliant episode!

I am not much of a DW fan but I dip in and out. Every now and again something utterly great happens and this was one of those times, "Blink" being another and I also loved the one where David Tennant's Doctor was hiding out in the guise of a schoolteacher.

I thought this episode was the perfect mix of fear and fairytale. And totally agree with

the thing in the blanket made me think of Whistle And I'll Come To You

  • me too. Terrifying Shock. That story shit me right up.
Davros · 17/09/2014 14:46

I've git WAICTY on DVD. Shits me up every time! Glad I'm not the only one who knows it. Tardis

Nerf · 20/09/2014 19:42

Quick!!!!!
Is this a flashback before or after the bit in the memory room?

Shuttity up.
So close.

Really liked this episode. No overriding story arc, nothing too emotionally complicated. However I found the soup brain bit a bit too gruesome. Doctor was great again.

Nerf · 20/09/2014 21:03

I was very confused.

Oh FFS. 8.30 next week? 8.30. No. Just no.

2rebecca · 20/09/2014 21:43

Excellent episode, if a bit sentimental at the end

Trills · 20/09/2014 21:51

I liked it. Nice clear story, all self contained.

MaryWestmacott · 20/09/2014 21:59

I liked that, as Trills says, all self contained.

I quite liked "why's your face all coloured in?" about Clara getting date ready. Smile

Nerf · 20/09/2014 22:00

Yes but slightly concerned about the date competition thing at the end

OP posts:
Trills · 20/09/2014 22:08

He's selfish and arrogant. Always has been, to some extent. Doesn't like the idea of not being the most interesting and exciting person in everyone's lives.

RustyDalek · 20/09/2014 22:14

I thought the 'why is your face coloured in' was a bit daft given that last week he was saying 'you've taken your make-up off'.

Pixel · 20/09/2014 22:29

I did think that bit was daft. He's had plenty of female companions, he certainly knows what high heels and make-up are!

2rebecca · 20/09/2014 23:10

I prefer 8.30, that's when i usually watch it as cooking dinner at 7.30 although appreciate with youngisih kids it's getting a bit late
