Do you think social services are going to get involved?

mumfor1standfinaltime · 21/09/2006 21:31
Sad
AllyC71 · 21/09/2006 21:31

It's obvious that these parents are out of control man. What is the point of slapping a child for not facing the right way at the table?? Obviously they've no idea how to communicate... Oh god scarey eyebrow woman is back!

MamaMaiasaura · 21/09/2006 21:32

I feel helpless and want to help.

How can this be ok? Something should be done.. I for one dont feel i can turn my back on this issue now.

mysonsmummy · 21/09/2006 21:32

the poor little boy was only trying to turn round to see his dad who he aint bloody seen all day and gets a slap. he seems to hate his son. if hes so sorry dont bloody do it.

the one who is on now deserves a bloody slap from me!!!!

mysonsmummy · 21/09/2006 21:33

awen - hate to say it but alot worse goes on in alot of people houses everyday.

AllyC71 · 21/09/2006 21:33

Did that woman just say "spank" .. isn't that a different kind of programme??? LOL

undaitri · 21/09/2006 21:35

several thousand years we have come with parents smacking their children or worse back then. Then in the late ninties do-gooders come along and want to change allo of natures way of parents bringing up their siblings.Since the ban in the home and MOST OF ALL SCHOOLS.We have now teachers scared of breaking the law about punishment and we will reap the wind on out of control youngsters where no one on the streets because they got away with if.Wake up to what is happening and will get worse.

MamaMaiasaura · 21/09/2006 21:35

I am sure it does still doesnt make this ok as worse goes on.

I wonder where all the pro smackers are now??

I am no longer watching but wonder whether it says that steps have been taken at the end

princessmel · 21/09/2006 21:35

I agree about the straw and the turning round at the table. Its so upsetting. He is terrified of his dad. Awful.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 21/09/2006 21:36

I dread to think what can go on in some peoples houses.
Notice how the mum of the little boy had to turn her back when he was being smacked?

MamaMaiasaura · 21/09/2006 21:36

undaitri - nice green look going on there. R U a troll cos i dont recognise nickname.

YOu know what.. men arent allowed to beat their wives anymore either.. darn those do gooders eh? You talk absolute shite so shut your mouth please

Blu · 21/09/2006 21:36

What can you say?
I want to adopt Mitchell. Willl this man's friends say anything at the office tomorrow? Poor litttle mite - what did he DO?
I really do feel sick.

rushour · 21/09/2006 21:37

i can't watch this either..parenting is one of the most difficult things in life..and its a constant learning curve, whatever age your children may be.I don't think there is such a thing as perfect parenting..but we must take responsibility for our actions and for its consequences..esp. since it could mean bad lifelong habits or impact on our children..its made me think about my parenting and my husbands parenting style..we r both very different..but i think we create the right balance..will tell you my story later..

Milge · 21/09/2006 21:37

OMG. I have smacked in the past and this programme makes me feel so awful that I have used the same partenting techiniques as the featured parents. I can barely watch, especially the fish slice woman who looks soooo mad, closely followed by Mitchells' father. He spoke to his wife in such an abusive way too, "you could be a politician if you weren't so stupid". A bit worried about the "spankers" coming up.. ..?

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 21/09/2006 21:37

OMG

I may be a pro-smacker - but NO WHERE NEAR to the extent it is showing in this programme.

Slap on the hand, smack on a nappy bottom yes.... that was cruelty and not on.

My eyes have been well and truly opened to the word "smacking" and what peoples versions of it mean. To me smacking is more a tap, not a belt round the face.

redbull · 21/09/2006 21:38

that poor little boy got a right smack on his leg then was looking at his mom for comfort trying to show her where hed been smacked i wouldnt of cared i would of picked him up and give him a big cuddle then smack the DH!!! I think that mom though hates it that he hits the kids you can see it in her face

DontlookatmeImshy · 21/09/2006 21:38

So apparently that couple have a difference in opinion about smacking?

If my dh smacked my ds like that (which he never would) he wouldn't be my dhfor muchlonger.

poppiesinaline · 21/09/2006 21:39

Agree re the straw scene. I have to say, I have smacked on the odd occasion but this programme is making me feel quite sick.

NOOOOOOOOOO, they are about to make all Christians look bad... don't listen don't listen

lall la la la la la >

WestCountryLass · 21/09/2006 21:39

Shitabrick, these parents are completely barking.

I don't smack myself and only know a few parents who do but I would hazard a guess that these specimens are not your average parent who smacks???? A bit like the extended breastfeeding programmes that just show the extreme view.

WestCountryLass · 21/09/2006 21:41

Hmmm, those Christian parents, better to have a smack now then a beating from a Police Officer in ten years time. I'm sure the Police are chuffed with that!

mumfor1standfinaltime · 21/09/2006 21:41

Agree with jessicaandrebbeccasmummy on this one.

Blu · 21/09/2006 21:43

The welsh child has 'bitch' printed on her tee shirt....
