I need the 'Linda' storyline needs to end or i will have to stop watching for a while. Kellie Bright is doing an amazing job but its really upsetting me not quite sure why its getting to me so much it just is...

Timcook · 17/10/2014 07:19

I don't mean its not a terrible thing to happen and of course its difficult to watch and its not as if I haven't watched other upsetting TV. I'm just finding this particularly harrowing.

Southeastdweller · 17/10/2014 08:14

I agree that it seems that Elaine suspects Linda has cheated on Mick with Elaine.

I really enjoyed last nights episode and think that the writer and the two actresses who play Linda and Elaine did a great job suggesting there's lots of unresolved tensions in their relationship which isn't as rosy as what we were led to believe.

Southeastdweller · 17/10/2014 08:15

Sorry - cheated on Mick with Dean.

bleedingheart · 17/10/2014 08:51

Shirley didn't like Elaine did she, wasn't that referred to when she went looking for Mick at their old pub? I haven't seen last nights episode yet but Mick is worried about Linda and anxious, that's why he called her mum and asked her to visit. He was devastated when she flinched when he touched her.
They have asked her what is wrong but it's not something they would expect to have happened so would be hard to guess. If she does tell her mum and she doesn't believe her I can't imagine what that would do to her!
I thought it was DS Bryant watching them? I think Jake has left for good unless he is a surprise returning character.

bleedingheart · 17/10/2014 09:14

Watching it now, how did I forget about the Shirley/arson part of their background?!
Think Cameron would have smashed a knuckle punching Max like that! Emma is a bit petulant isn't she? I mean I have little sympathy for Max but she was very self-righteous for someone who was having an affair!

jellyandbeans · 17/10/2014 11:06

Roger, I think that its odd they way linda and Mick would have had children so young, then gone on to have two more straight away after too? Where did they all live? They seemed quite well off when they first appeared even though they were just running pubs for other people and didn't own their own one till they bought the Vic. But, this is soap land where nothing much makes sense!

bleedingheart · 17/10/2014 12:11

Yes, where did they get their money from? Working in Elaine's pub for 20 years wouldn't earn them enough to buy the Vic and bring up three children surely?

poppy1973 · 17/10/2014 12:15

I watched Eastenders last night. I thought the punch between Cameron and Max looked a bit odd.

My dh made me turn Eastenders over last night - as he said that it is so depressing at the moment, but I turned it back on when he was out of the room. Linda storyline is so upsetting at the moment - I hope that it gets sorted out soon and that she tells someone soon !!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2014 15:15

I thought Shirley got the money off phil to pay/move into the pub?

And yes if you got preg at 14/15 surely you wouldn't have another baby a year later?

And think Shirley hates her mum for taking mick off her and pretending much was her son and Shirley's brother rather then really a grandson - which makes his kids lee etc really Her great grandchildren

I meant Shirley dislikes Linda's mum not her own (although I think you're right about that, she sees her as having abandoning them to live with Stan too). Elaine obviously has reason to dislike her for the arson history, maybe Shirley resented Mick being part of a happy family when she was unable to tell him she was his mum. If they moved in together and had children so young Elaine would have been a mother figure to him too I guess. She got £10k off Phil for the damp proofing repair at the Vic or whatever it was. It was already Phil's pub so I'm pretty sure Mick and Linda bought it off him. I think Danny Dyer's first scene was him with a bag of cash for Phil and they couldn't afford to do the repairs after buying the pub.

I'm really hoping Linda tells her mum what happened and isn't accused of an affair in tonight's episode.

jellyandbeans · 17/10/2014 17:16

I bet she doesn't then Elaine will assume she is having an affair and it will go on and on. My prediction is around 2 more weeks when Shirley will appear in time for her to stop Mick trying to kill Dean, they will find out they are half brothers...!

Snapespeare · 17/10/2014 17:30

I started watching again with Lucy's murder and am now back to obsessive watching. After a good ten years of not watching, it's lovely to see people like Sharon and Ian, who i 'went to school with' grown up and looking like normal people as opposed to celebrity ageing.

I love ronnie and Charlie. It's very, very sweet. Aliks (sp) is a sleaze, but I guess we knew that. I agree Linda actress amazing, I'm constantly willing her to tell Mick.

As a flippant aside, I'm very enamoured of the carters wallpaper.

jellyandbeans · 17/10/2014 19:34

I really dislike the parrots in the lounge and the flamingos are just horrible!

bleedingheart · 17/10/2014 20:10

Oh poor Linda!
I'm not having an affair she says and then her mum ignores that and lectures her regardless!

bleedingheart · 17/10/2014 20:12

Poor Mick and poor Linda!!!

C'mon Elaine, work it out and help her!

GetTheRedOut · 17/10/2014 20:22

Oh no... Poor Linda :(

bleedingheart · 17/10/2014 20:26

At the risk of filling up the thread with my witterings.. Glad that Elaine has almost worked it out.
What's with Dean's extra long necklace?
Abi's facial expressions have been great tonight.

SilveryMoon · 17/10/2014 21:10

Abi was hilarious tonight.
Another good episode for Kelli Bright in terms of acting and even DD is doing alright, just wish he'd beep his eyes open.

cogitosum · 17/10/2014 21:19

I think mick would've worked it out

FastWindow · 17/10/2014 21:29

Due to bedtime obligations I saw the boot where Danny Dyer tried it on with linda, she freaks, and cut to whatever else it was. Then cut back and they are lying on the bed. He's in shock, right? Says I love you, she says it back... She told him, surely?

FastWindow · 17/10/2014 21:30

Bit. Damn this auto cucumber.

SilveryMoon · 17/10/2014 21:34

No, she didn't tell him.
I don't think he'd have worked it out, if your partner suddenly starts acting off you are not going to think rape are you?
