Agree about the whole only knowing one person thing touching a nerve. I nearly cried at that point. It was Mick saying to her "we're lucky to have only known each other"

ByeByeButterfly · 12/10/2014 19:23

Yes, that set me off too.

LineRunner · 12/10/2014 19:26

I hope this storyline us able to emphasise at some point that rape is not sex. It is violence. It is abuse.

LineRunner · 12/10/2014 19:26

is able

ByeByeButterfly · 12/10/2014 19:38

I am visually impaired so watched the Audio Described version of last Monday's and it mentioned about her moving as if she was in pain so I think they noted it was painful for her physically as well as emotionally.

I feel horrible about how taunting Dean is - can he seriously think she 'comforted' him or is he playing a mindscrew game?

It's honestly disgusting and makes me so angry with him.

Love how caring Nancy is though.

GarlicOctopus · 12/10/2014 20:36

I'm catching up on last week. I've got to say Linda's reactions to the rape are triggering me like nothing else has, except a documentary I once saw about my rapist. Her acting, the writing, and the direction are fantastic.

I understand why there's been so much offence: I think it's bringing back feelings that viewers have wanted to suppress. That's actually the mark of a truly great drama!

Dean's just very screwed up. That's how it is, often: no black & white, just fucked-upness and wrong decisions.

I can't write more now - I've got to obsessively watch this to the end!

Southeastdweller · 12/10/2014 20:54

Bye In terms of your first paragraph I'd never thought of that and I'm sorry if anyone was offended.

To be clear, imho, it is fine to have knee-jerk, contemptuous opinions about a fictional character who's been through what Ronnie character has (though maybe that shouldn't be publicly expressed), but no, I wouldn't (and haven't in the past) be harsh about someone like her in RL.

Fakebook · 12/10/2014 21:20

Hello everyone, I was on the previous threads and would like to join in again if that's ok?!

Apparently Martin Fowler is coming back with ..... a different head Grin. He looks better looking than the old one, which is good!

SilveryMoon · 12/10/2014 21:25

Hi Fake Welcome back Grin

bleedingheart · 13/10/2014 08:45

Fake* Welcome back and thank you for that Martin news. I was wondering how long he could be 'busy at work' and out with his mates. It didn't make sense that he wouldn't be at Sharon's wedding for example; his sister's best mate gets married and his wife goes but he doesn't? They should have recast him ages ago.

SuchSweetSorrow · 13/10/2014 10:30

I thought it was strange how martin hadn't returned- glad he is making a comeback

123upthere · 13/10/2014 20:24

Random question everyone - Is the policewoman's detective/boss the same actress who played Grotbags in 1980's kids TV show The Pink Windmill? Or completely not?

123upthere · 13/10/2014 20:32

Ah I've just seen end credits she's Alison Newman used to be agent oR something in Footballers Wives

As you were!

SuchSweetSorrow · 13/10/2014 20:34

I really hope she tells mick soon

Has anyone seen any spoliers?

ilovechristmas1 · 13/10/2014 20:47

oh yes she was an agent a real "ball breaker" type

Fakebook · 13/10/2014 21:09

Thanks for the welcome back!

Yeah I found it strange how they bought back Sonia and their daughter and not him. I guess Sonia's attempts of wooing him back with her lovely (Hmm) new tops will be more interesting now!

Tonight's episode was boring. Felt sorry for Linda when she was crying in the bathroom. I really really despise Max. Horrible little manipulative arsehole. Grin.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2014 21:41

Loved footballers wives and extra time :)

Wondered why she looked so familiar - that's why !!!

Welcome fake

I still want to meet mark Mitchell aka grants son

Southeastdweller · 13/10/2014 22:24

Max is a tosser but I equally feel that the women that fall for his patter are idiots.

Love D.I Keeble and how she talks to Emma. Their scenes are so well-acted and written.

Floellabenjamin · 13/10/2014 22:25

The police woman it topsy and tim's mum on cbeebies

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2014 23:54

How does max get so many woman?
Felt sorry for Abbi - she always looks so dismayed when finds out max is sleeping with someone else

OP posts:
SuchSweetSorrow · 14/10/2014 13:13

Ha! Blondes you are right, she always looks dismayed, like 'who is my dirty dog of a dad shagging now'. Poor girl should have left when she had the chance!

Max really is a piece of work.

bleedingheart · 14/10/2014 13:46

It was a weary look of 'who NOW?' last night. Poor girl.

Max is so manipulative, even when he has genuine emotions he uses them to further his own ends (ooh-er!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2014 19:33

I know linda and mick are childhood sweethearts and so sad when he said we've only known each other

But

If linda is 37 and her daughter just had her 21st then she had her 3rd child by the time she was 16 - is this right??

How old are lee and other/gay son - whose name I can't remember

OP posts:
Cocolepew · 14/10/2014 19:42

Just tell him Linda!

SuchSweetSorrow · 14/10/2014 20:20

I think nancy is the middle child? Was she 15 when she had lee then?
