See, I have warmed to JOrdan now and I think you're all big meanies.

Ooo...the history bit!

Lacuna · 20/08/2014 20:20

Norman does need to branch out into, y'know, flavour...

IScreamForIceCream · 20/08/2014 20:23

I thought that Norm was mixing it up a bit by including the treacle and caraway in bake 1, but he was obvs quite sparing with them...!

coffeeinbed · 20/08/2014 20:24

No.
that's not good ciabatta Paul.
It needs more holes and less flour on top.

Lacuna · 20/08/2014 20:25

Oh noooo, the deceitful proving drawer!

For the first time ever I'm watching a technical challenge that I've voluntarily made myself many times!!!

It's actually really easy to do ciabatta.

Don't know who's recipe their using though. Ciabatta has loads oil in?!

Confused.

coffeeinbed · 20/08/2014 20:29

No, that's foccacia with the oil.

Jamdoughnutfiend · 20/08/2014 20:29

I find Kate quite annoying

IScreamForIceCream · 20/08/2014 20:29

A bit of oil usually - not loads.
Sure you're not thinking of focaccia?

KiteyDelighty · 20/08/2014 20:29

I thought it was focaccia that had masses of oil in

LaChatte · 20/08/2014 20:29

Isn't that focaccia that has loads of oil in?

I hope Jordan goes soon! I find him really really creepy!!!

IScreamForIceCream · 20/08/2014 20:30

coffee - I didn't think that Paul's ciabatta was that good either! The holes were too few and too small, and the whole thing looked a bit heavy.

coffeeinbed · 20/08/2014 20:31

Yep!

Jamdoughnutfiend · 20/08/2014 20:32

I think Luis is really good, I think Jordan's going to struggle

coffeeinbed · 20/08/2014 20:32

And he does tend to like the ciabattas with the tighter crumb when he's judging.

Wrong!

IScreamForIceCream · 20/08/2014 20:33

Interesting (to me) that the two lowest-ranked ciabatte (ahem) are by the bakers who profess to love sourdough.

Gooseysgirl · 20/08/2014 20:33

Well done Norm Smile

17leftfeet · 20/08/2014 20:33

Apparently me thinking Kate was going to struggle this week, was in fact a good luck charm for her!
