Now way they can send a Norman home IMO

Gooseysgirl · 13/08/2014 20:56

From the side Iain looks like Sonic the Hedgehog

Madaboutthrows · 13/08/2014 20:57

Ooh that's a shock

IScreamForIceCream · 13/08/2014 20:57

Huzzah! Norm lives to storm another day.

Dolly80 · 13/08/2014 20:57

1st rule of GBBO - never use shop bought, or make things in a stack. Lucky escape Norm

TSSDNCOP · 13/08/2014 20:58

That's right Norman. Look for constructive criticism and rise!!!

LaChatte · 13/08/2014 20:59

Ooh croissants next week!

emotionsecho · 13/08/2014 20:59

That's a surpriseShock

FlossyMoo · 13/08/2014 21:09

I knew he was toast when he said shop bought fondant. Poor chap. Then again we are 5 seasons in he should have known better Shock

juneybean · 13/08/2014 21:11

Mary's face when he said he hadn't made it!

coffeeinbed · 13/08/2014 21:11

Mary's face when he said it was shop brought.

And rule three - if it's on the plate it must be edible.

vestandknickers · 13/08/2014 21:14

Bet his wife's pleased. He can stop arsing about with pastry and help her with their four very young children.

Dolly80 · 13/08/2014 21:15

Same time next week ladies and gents

CoolItKittens · 13/08/2014 22:04

Iain does things to me Blush Glad he's saved himself and scraped through again!

Inertia · 14/08/2014 00:25

I need to start watching in real time so I can join in the thread.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Richard - think he is my favourite so far.

ppeatfruit · 14/08/2014 08:21

Yeah so the best looking guy goes because he obviously doesn't watch the show!!!!

Whoever said "please go Jordan" YYYYYYYY I couldn't watch him (beginning to regret the wide screen fgs!!) Did anyone notice that he modelled his monsters' teeth on his own Shock

Anyone wonder why they had a 'history bit" that wasn't relevant to anything??

sassytheFIRST · 14/08/2014 08:32

Sad about Enwezor. He was lovely.

The two hairy men are pissing me off. Appears to be v little going on with either of them.

LOVE Richard, Luis, Nancy and amazed at Martha. Hard to believe yesterday was only week 2, the standard in the show stopper was so high!

Has anyone read the mighty monk seal blog on last week? (On iPad so can't link, sorry). V funny and well observed as usual but also clairvoyant - he was bemoaning the lack of a history bit and said we need to hear about the cultural relevance of waffle cones and... That was last night's show ! Hmmm....

Gumnast2014 · 14/08/2014 09:00

Sorry if this has been asked before but is it only the middle challenge that they can't prepare for? Do they get told the first one and the showstopper so they can prepare?

ppeatfruit · 14/08/2014 09:36

Awwww Sad Sassy Pretty please, I love the monk seal, anyone else able to link to it????

I don't know the answer to that Gumnast. Someone will Grin

divingoffthebalcony · 14/08/2014 09:57

Sassy - they showed a clip of the history bit during the "next week" section of last week's episode. Monkseal isn't a clairvoyant. Love him though!

Disappointed in Norman this week. His signature biscuits were so simple and BORING. I know he got great feedback, but how hard is it to make a biscuit with three ingredients well? And then his Showstopper consisted of plain butter biscuits... boooring. I like him, so I hope he has grand plans for his bread, otherwise I dear he'll go the same way as Lucy last year, i.e. early promise, followed by "My plan is to make tomato bread really simply and well". Paul wasn't too impressed about plonking some tomatoes on top of a loaf, was he? Grin

GerundTheBehemoth · 14/08/2014 09:57

Monkseal's blog post on episode 1. He's not done ep. 2 yet.

GertieFinkle · 14/08/2014 10:00

Love Monkseal's blog Smile

sassytheFIRST · 14/08/2014 10:01

Aaaahh Grin

ppeatfruit · 14/08/2014 11:45

Brilliant thanks soo much Gerund I needed a laugh! I loved the bit about Diana's choclate mousse being laced with opiates Grin

Unlabelled · 14/08/2014 13:46

Love GBBO! Mel and Sue crack me up. Biscuits were all very boring I thought. Who's the favourite to win?
