It's been a while since we had a WW thread so here we go again!

Be warned, if you've not watched the whole series, you may come across spoilers.

So, favourite episodes/quotes/characters?

For me, favourite episodes: Two Cathedrals and The Supremes, plus numerous others!

Quotes: too many to mention! Bartlett's monologue in Two Cathedrals; Josh and CJ going head to head on many occasions; Toby's "Did you trip?"

Characters: all of them! Except Mandy

Me too! I watched the WW the first time over long evenings with cluster feeding DC1. We did the same with the next one and will do the same with the next one next month!

People! I have a question.

John Spencer (RIP) is shown in Birnam Wood having a heart attack. Was he already ill and planning to withdraw from the show?

I don't think so. It was more of a set up for the moves that were to follow. Josh leaving / CJ becoming COS / Leo running for VP

I think John Spencer was ill though, they had to shrink his part due to his ill health and the only way to do that was to lessen Leo's role.

Just seen of Allison Janney, can you believe she's 54?! Go girl!

Just watched The Supremes (yet again!). It is just the most perfect episode

I only saw bits and bobs of the series when they were first broadcast, mostly the later ones with Will and Chandler(!) etc...

So have now started rewatching from scratch. Am about 12 episodes in. The one where Bartlett tells the naval boy in the hurricane he is going to stay on the line made me sob. And there is so much abt the US politics I don't understand but I let some of it slide over me, wish I did know more as I would fully get their pressing problems then.

Hmm. Do I need to spend time educating myself about a country's politics so I can better enjoy their TV? Answer: probably but I haven't time!

I found that watching WW educated me by itself I don't get all the ins and outs (who does) but could probably give a broad explanation about electoral colleges, etc

Watching again here too. Takes me back to night feeds. I especially loved Two Cathedrals and the episodes when Josh and Donna finally get it together.
