It's been a while since we had a WW thread so here we go again!

Be warned, if you've not watched the whole series, you may come across spoilers.

So, favourite episodes/quotes/characters?

For me, favourite episodes: Two Cathedrals and The Supremes, plus numerous others!

Quotes: too many to mention! Bartlett's monologue in Two Cathedrals; Josh and CJ going head to head on many occasions; Toby's "Did you trip?" Grin

Characters: all of them! Except Mandy Wink

The Supremes is probably my favourite episode. I get all choked up when Toby asks Glenn Close to sign the book for his baby daughter.

One of my favorites is "And It's Surely To Their Credit" when Ainsley shows up for work for the first time.

I haven't seen it in years, but it got me though the Bush administration by entering the universe of WW and pretending that Bartlet was our president.

My favorite character was Leo. It was so sad when John Spencer, and with him, Leo died. Kristen Chenoweth and he had become good friends while working on the series, and she sang "For Good" from Wicked at his funeral.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/07/2014 23:17

I love the Roy Ashland. The supremes is great - and I enjoy the slight chemistry between the right and left-wing nominees! - but I love Ashland.

'Ah, your flowers. We liked 'em.'

Grin
TheFallenMadonna · 28/07/2014 23:23

I love it. I have an upside down map on my landing wall in honour of big block of cheese day.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 28/07/2014 23:30

I think I may have to order the whole series. One of my close friends loves it too. I see a weekend marathon in the offing. Smile

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/07/2014 23:37

It's on Netflix, you know? Might it be worth the subscription?

It's wonderful.

Though, I will admit, I have just this minute watched the president and first lady have a row. At one point she says she's wrong, and goes on with '.. however ..'. And he says 'no, no however. Just stand there in your wrongness and be wrong.'

To my immense shame, I had a bloke who used to quote that at me.

And I found it appealing and cultured. Blush

I am a twat.

TheFallenMadonna · 29/07/2014 00:01

And Amazon Prime. I am starting from the beginning yet again. Trying to ignore Mandy....

SconeRhymesWithGone · 29/07/2014 00:01

It's also on Amazon Instant Video so I can start immediately!

SconeRhymesWithGone · 29/07/2014 00:03

Cross-post. It's only 7 pm here so a fun night ahead.

I love TWW. No other programme comes close. Didn't like Will the first time round but he grew on me on rewatching.

I may have accidentally named both my children after WW characters...

Papyrus02 · 29/07/2014 21:30

We've just finished season 5. Now watching 2nd episode of season 6.... Very topical right now. It's sad to think the camp David meeting in WW probably won't happen in real life.

I like kate harper but I find her long fringe distracting. Also Will is very much an aide/counsel to the president in these episodes but surely there is some conflict of interest as he is chief of staff to the VP? It's annoying. I'd rather he'd just stayed with the presidents staff.

We love WW. It's fab.

Love the fact Camp David is a camp- it's like center parcs.

MrsJoeDolan · 03/08/2014 20:29

One of my favourite things to do is re-watch the Zoe Bartlett getting kidnapped episodes.

That's not weird right ?!

bigkidsdidit · 03/08/2014 20:38

I hated two cathedrals. I loved the supremes and the one where Donna is Canadian and the one where Donna drops her knickers in front of Karen Cahill :)

We're watching it now for the third time, up to season four. Season three is the best overall IMO

FrankelandFilly · 03/08/2014 21:11

One thing I can't help but notice now is his badly Josh's suits fit him. I'm not sure if it's dodgy early 00s fashion or a deliberate choice for the character.

Room for one more?

Budge over a bit everyone.. only just noticed this thread. I MISS the WW. DH and I rewatch the entire series about once a year - but I want MORE.

culturemulcher · 03/08/2014 21:22

I wish they'd made a bit more of CJ and Greg Brock..

Every time we go somewhere miserable DH can't resist "As I look out upon this beautiful vista" and our standard 'let's go' move is the airplane taking off hand gesture. Still trying to remember my favourite quotes, but my best episode is definitely CJ trying, failing, and finally succeeding in getting together with Danny.

FrankelandFilly · 03/08/2014 21:30
?

Josh got old and chubby Shock

OP posts:
culturemulcher · 03/08/2014 21:38

No I've NEVER seen that. Fantastic. But oh gosh Josh.

bigkidsdidit · 03/08/2014 21:50

That's great! CJ looks fabulous but I guess she's still a movie star

Poor old josh. Hasn't aged like l imagined. Good thing I was always team Toby :)

Fiderer · 04/08/2014 16:14

Hey, I still look quite good

But since when did the President call me "Mrs Fiderer"?

I preferred "a class act" and even "whack job".

MrsBW · 06/08/2014 13:50

Oh Josh... What happened???

On another note.

Am I the only person in the world who thinks Leo was miscast (or perhaps just not played rig?)

He's supposed to be the sharpest political mind in the Democratic Party but ever time I see him I think his suits are too big and he just has this lazy, teenager-ish gait/lollop which just somehow seems at odds...

Just me?

MrsBW · 06/08/2014 13:52

not played right

MrsBW · 06/08/2014 13:53

P.S. Full box set now on Sky On Demand.

My favourites are Noël, In the Shadow of Two Gunmen, Access and Lift Off.
