Grouchy I love cricket too! DF used to play (only locally) so I practically grew up on the edge of a cricket pitch. Used to love helping the wives make the cricket teas in the pavilion every Saturday . DF thinks the new fast & furious short formats of the game are sacrilege, but I love it, so exciting. I have even persuaded DH, who is Irish & knew nothing about cricket, that it's a great game. Once I taught him the rules he started to appreciate it

Anyway, back to the tennis...

I'm also feeling a bit of a let-down, that feeling you get when you know Wimbledon is coming to an end . Kvitova/Safarova was OK, but the main event should be a better match, I hope.

Fabio naked makes me feel quite ill.

I sort of watched the Kvitova match & am about to watch the Bouchard/Halep one.

Not the same as the mens'.

I think this match will be closer- had the dubious pleasure of listening to the radio commentary. They were pointing out that although Simona is the 3rd seed, she has been very much over looked, whilst all the attention has been on other, much lower ranked opponents.She's not had the high profile press conferences. I think she likes it that way. Plus, journalists are predictable- and 4 years on are still wanting to talk about her breast reduction]

and yy to this being the 'the main event' although Kvitova is a good player- these 2 are 'the future'.

I think we mentioned it during a previous tournament, but surely a gazebo of some kind, or one of those swingy garden chairs with a canopy would be better than some poor ball person standing over a player with a brolly

Yes, at 18 she was pretty large for her frame, and had them reduced. they were clearly making playing difficult. Since then it has been easier, and her game has improved.

I must admit, I often watch Serena and think she must be very well upholstered.

This match does feel rather tame right now. Tuned in at 3 games all. Hopefully they get into it soon. (Although once my groceries turn up - they're nearly late - I'll have to take Miss Two outside to play.

This stoppage is helpful (hope the person is ok) because my signal's all crap again. Had better just be because of the wind. And my groceries are late.

I was really hoping this would be more of a match. It promised much on paper.

Bouchard/Kvitova. - Kvitova has the experience, but Genie has the momentum at the moment. Hard to tell.
