Thank you for creating this thread.

I unfortunately have to leave episode 4 halfway through to go to a party. It's building up to be a brilliant episode and I can't believe I have to leave it. I hate how the outside world gets in the way.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 07/06/2014 17:44

Bloody RL! Grin

I'm halfway through 11.
I'm not even ashamed Grin

HopefulHamster · 07/06/2014 18:09

Watched episode one and now DH has gone away with work for a week :(

AIBU to watch the rest and then pretend I haven't and have to watch them all again when I get back? :D

Nb I have male colleagues who love most of the critics faves on Netflix etc (they'll try anything from Breaking Bad to House of Cards to whatever), yet have written this show off as 'for girls' and won't try it. ARGH.

GatoradeMeBitch · 07/06/2014 18:41

I'm watching episode 8 now. Young Rosa was a fox! I'm annoyed with myself because I wanted to pace it, but on the other hand I want to read articles about it and there are spoilers everywhere. I think this series is even better than the first.

Does that 'compassionate release' thing happen in real life, turfing senile old people out of prison to fend for themselves? In a quiet way I think that's the most horrifying thing I've seen on the show.

TessTackle · 07/06/2014 18:54

Gatorade that's what I was going to say, it's the worst thing I've seen over the two seasons Sad

smearedinfood · 07/06/2014 18:57

There's a good article on the guardian's twitter feed about it. Will start with it tonight!

Shock at little frail old lady with arm in a cast being dumped!
So senator is gay and banging his aide...she's gonna go batshit when she finds out about that!
Larry is in quite the pickle.
Loved the 'panda' guard saying to g.f "I've learnt things about the female anatomy you may want to know!"

And onwards...

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 07/06/2014 23:56

Ok- just finished the season!

I can now read all your comments without fear. Grin

I laughed so hard in the episode where capote (sp) gets one over in figero (sp). If you've seen it you'll know the scene i mean.

Really loved this season. Not so much a cliffhanger ending as season one (please tell me that doesnt mean there wont be a season 3?) but still enjoyable.

Oh and the 'compassionate release' was brutal! I hope that isnt true to RL! Very scary if so.

I watched them all yesterday. Went to bed around 3am. I may have a problem.

The end scene was perfect. I was really happy for rosa.

If you are married to Alex Vause you definitely have a problem. cut that woman in half and it says trouble all the way through. Grin

Are you both almost annoyed with yourself for watching them all though? I know I am.

I choose to blame Netflix for allowing me to watch them all at once rather than taking that choice out of my hands. They cant give that sort of temptation and expect it not to be taken Grin

BTW did taystee know how RJ really died?

Was also really glad pornstache's return was temporary- he gives me the creeps!

I actually felt sorry for Mendez when he was shouting pregnancy advice back at Daya while he was being frogmarched out of the building by the police Grin

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 08/06/2014 00:50

Yes that was slightly cute Grin just slightly. He's still a huge stalker creep

I have been waiting for so long for season 2 and counting the days so of course watched them all!

One of the scenes I really enjoyed was the banjolele scene, one of the things I liked this season was the fleshing out, with the guards who in some other shows would be scenery or plot device, being included with little moments of personality. Not just Pornstache and Bennett. I loved Morello's story, wish there had been a bit more on Suzanne.

I don't think Taystee knows about RJ, from her comment to Vee in the bunk it seems she believes what she was told.

Larry, Pete and Polly made me a bit meh though.

It has only made my Kate Mulgrew love worse!

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 08/06/2014 01:10

I cant decide whether i like Healy or not. I feel really sorry for him the way his marriage is but then i think he is to blame for how it is and then i swing back to feeling sorry for him. I think that's what i really like about this show, its hard to completely love or hate any of them (except vee who is just bad to the bone- i liked Poussey's description of her as a paedophile without the sexual element) i was even feeling sorry for Fig!

Love the scene with Pentucky and Boo about lesbians taking over the world!

Lioninthesun · 08/06/2014 11:28

I think Healy is at heart a good guy but very frustrated. His book on women taking over the world is sold to him because he genuinely feels impotent, despite being the one in power, and a white male. He sees that the system has failed him just as much as he can see it failing the inmates. He is blaming them rather than looking at the system though, and the fact they are all women and he has a female boss isn't shaking his deep rooted fear that they are ganging up on him.

Lioninthesun · 08/06/2014 11:29

Anyone else notice the Ferris Bueller all being in his head thing has now gone viral? Saw a heading on Yahoo but not read it yet! Assuming it is connected to OITNB but may have missed it elsewhere.
