Sorry feel like a thread hog. So excited to be 'back in it' but only 2 episodes left Sad

Llareggub · 08/06/2014 11:33

I'd read the Bueller thing before. It might have gone viral because of OITNB but it was around before.

Llareggub · 08/06/2014 11:35

I might have to go back to watch the first series again. I'm pretty sure Fig was PA to the warden originally and bullied him into doing what she wanted. However I might be getting confused with another show.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 08/06/2014 12:19

Love the scene with Pentucky and Boo about lesbians taking over the world!

That was so funny! Also agree with your theory about Healy. I think he's basically a good guy.

Capote is another who i want to like but episode one of season one will not leave my mind! I did note that he stopped himself having a wank over an inmate in season 2 though. Personal growth? Grin

OP posts:
Lioninthesun · 08/06/2014 12:42

Yes, Capote seems to have more balls, can see the system is cracked and seems to be strong enough to actually do something about it. Where Healy turns inward and gets angry and women in his life and erupts, Capote seems to have a stronger grip on reality. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets together with the journo to out the witch. Is it only lunchtime? Bed time for DD seems eons away. Tick tock.

Season 3 has been commissioned and they're already back on set! I'd like to see the back stories for Blanca, Flaca/Marisol, Gina and Boo.

Just finished watching all of Season 2, I have no concept of delayed gratification.
I love how not one character is all nice or all nasty, apart from Vee who really does seem to be a sociopath. Agree with BernardLook that I like the way even quite minor characters are fleshed out and not just scenery, like O'Neill and Bell's romance.

Found the end of the final episode surprisingly tense and did a proper Shock face at the end!

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 08/06/2014 19:06

The only bit about the end that i dont like is that Vee wasnt caught and properly punished for attacking Red.

Just finished season 2 and came looking for this thread Grin

I loved the ending! I also loved how this season focused more on the older inmates.

I can't help but feel that the inmates who are there because they let someone else bully them into doing stupid things are less interesting (like Piper and the young Spanish girls) compared to the inmates who are there because they actually did something illegal themselves (like Red, Rosa, the nun and the older inmate who cut off her husband's penis (wonder what the backstory there is)).

What do you have to do to get a permanent cell in solitary? I think I'd like that, especially if I could have some books. And it seems like the safest place to be in prison.

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 08/06/2014 21:16

I'm not sure if it was covered and i missed it but did they show Red's arrest in season one? I know she was hiding something (a body?) in her store as 'payment' for bursting criminal man's wife's boob but was that why she is in prison?

OP posts:
SuchSweetSorrow · 08/06/2014 22:53

Oh I have loved this season, even though Alex wasn't in it as much as I would have liked! Think that was due to her filming schedules from what I read doesn't help with my crush on her though

GatoradeMeBitch · 08/06/2014 23:48

Morello will be a regular in season three! I didn't realize she wasn't a regular in the first two actually, even though you barely saw her in some episodes, but apparently she just came in when asked. She'll have a larger role in season three. It makes me wonder if there will be a new object of her affections...

MrsAlexVause · 08/06/2014 23:57

What did Morello go to prison for? The scamming or the stalking? I may have to watch them again!

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 09/06/2014 00:24

She put a bomb under the car (or house maybe?) of 'christophers' fiancee. Plus harrasment and other stalky stuff. I found her court scene really sad. When christopher was recounting all her crimes and she sat smiling as if he was complimenting her and then just leaned across to her lawyer and said he was just twisting the story as if it was a little spat in tesco!

Lioninthesun · 09/06/2014 00:32

Just finished. Love the ending, although I agree it would have been nice to see her squirm, I just think it is like ripping off a plaster with people like her - better to get it over and done with quickly. Her legacy will live on and remind people why kindness in their situ is a better way for all . Like a terrible relationship - better to remember and avoid in future than forget and relive. I'm just glad she can't come back Grin

I REALLY want to know how they are going to deal with the baby once it gets here. Looks like S3 is going to have to have a far stricter head what with the break outs, babies, heroin and lesbians taking over the world plots to be getting on with. How is whisker pate going to deal?

Bugger. I feel like a secret eater now Sad

Lioninthesun · 09/06/2014 00:37

Yes, Morello had a bomb under the car and I think threatened his ex g.f as well. I found the Court scene sad too - her smiling away. IIRC it's all part of the fact that the majority of female prisoners globally actually have mental illnesses and should be getting treatment, not being locked away.

Makes you wonder how someone like that could make a bomb though, hardly her style you'd think!

Did anyone else not wonder how they didn't smell the luxury bath oils when she got back into the van with the bathrobe after her stalky stalk?

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 09/06/2014 00:48

Good point about the bath oils, maybe she drove home with the window open? Grin

That was a really uncomfortable scene for me. When she was in the bath with the veil on. I know i have issues with germs and that so coming home to find a full, used bath would be bad enough but the fact it was your stalker and she had your wedding veil on? That would send me doolally! I'd probably need to move house. Grin

GatoradeMeBitch · 09/06/2014 03:21

Maybe she always smells lovely anyway! I had to find out what those eyebrow patch things she uses are - they're called Frownies, they supposedly stop those '11' lines. They're expensive too!

I felt Pennsatucky didn't really get to do much this season which is a shame. Maybe she'll find her villain mojo again for season three. I don't like her minions, I want them put back in their place! And I didn't like her friendship with Healy. Actually, after his little speech confirmed how much he dislikes and fears women I hope he moves on from Litchfield sooner rather than later.

I also hated seeing how Suzanne changed under Zee's influence. It was really only the last episode that made me like her again, especially her concern that Lady Locksley had been meddled with! Grin

And I just hope this is the last we see of Larry. If he is not with Piper any more - and he's definitely not! - he is a pointless character, and his gf even more so. I think the show always suffers when it's away from the prison.

Lioninthesun · 09/06/2014 08:22

Ah forgot to say how funny the scene with Panda and the nuns at the picket line was with his banjo-lele! Then"SCATTER THE NUNS!" - "run nuns, RUN!" Grin I think Panda and ex-dyke lover are going to have more scenes in S3. I was sure she was a lesbian in S1 and the coughing scenes/wanting to probe with finger seems to confirm she's a bit of a U-bend.

I agree Pentucky was a more feisty leader of the yokels. If Healy is stopping his programme she'll go back to her religion for S3 too I imagine. I was also thinking Pentucky's ex could potentially sell his story of her - she was in the clinic for an abortion after all and not a baby life defender! Not sure what that would do to her psyche though.

I'm also hoping Larry/Polly can go away now. It' not necessary and the 'happy families' jars too much with the nitty gritty (as I am sure it is meant to to show how life goes on outside) but I'd rather stay in Litchfield, figuratively of course!

MrsAlexVause · 09/06/2014 09:45

Thanks! I need to watch them again!

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 09/06/2014 09:52

What are these eyebrow patch thingies? Confused i didnt notice those.

OP posts:
Lioninthesun · 09/06/2014 09:53

Was she using them much in this series? I do seem to remember he having an eye patch in S1...

summeraupair · 09/06/2014 10:43

Ahh I'm so happy this season finally came out! Feels like I've been waiting forever.

The ending had me so tense - did anyone else think she was just going to drive into a tree or something, end it on her own terms? Though driving into what she did was far more satisfying Wink

I found the flashbacks a lot more interesting this time around. Small Suzanne was heartbreaking. And little Taystee.

And I'm still chuckling at all the scenes with O'Neill and the nuns Grin
