Thought I'd start this as I'm not enjoying the other thread now with so many people on it who have seen US episodes.

I think because it was obvious to everyone that they still had feelings for each other.

Undercurrent · 17/05/2014 20:46

Diane mentioned Will had a sister - so he does have family.

littlemrssleepy · 17/05/2014 21:23

It was never 'out in the open' but everyone knew. Remember Alicia's phone went off with her 'hey mom, pick up the phone' when she and Will were in a bedroom. Diane rang Will and heard it in the background. And when peter got nasty towards LG, they went out on a rooftop and Diane told Will he had to stop sleeping with Peter's wife. So...everyone knew. And everyone knew the anger Will felt following Alicia's leaving of LG was because he felt so betrayed. I guess that is why there was a glimpse of reconciliation just before he died - it meant Alicia can imagine he wanted to reconcile with her, hence the final interpretation of the phonecall. (I don't think we'll ever get to know what he was going to say).

Such a brilliant show and amazing that it can provoke such reaction and emotion. Excited to see where the writers take it next.

gamescompendium · 17/05/2014 21:35

Will has two sisters, they were in the first episode after he was suspended. We never saw his parents but i think at least his Mum is still alive, but didn't recognise his success. Bit like Cary's Dad.

onedev · 17/05/2014 22:24

I don't remember his sisters at all & I've watched it from the start!

AmIGoingMad · 17/05/2014 22:30

Ah I remember his sisters who were convinced he and Kalinda had a thing!

northender · 17/05/2014 23:29

Yes Will's sister was featured when he was disbarred. iirc he was talking about a "special" someone that was Alicia but she assumed it was Kalinda. My memory isn't too good though so could be wrongGrin

OP posts:
WildThong · 17/05/2014 23:33

That's right, his sisters were just about marrying him off to Kalinda.

Ill miss Will Sad

onedev · 17/05/2014 23:33

My memory must be shocking as I don't remember a sister at all!!

TSSDNCOP · 17/05/2014 23:42

David Lee stole the show this week.

Diane a close second. Firing the client and colluding with the other firms. genius.

The Kalinda belt scene was pure torment.

DustBunnyFarmer · 18/05/2014 07:12

Interestingly, DH noticed that Archie Panjab's accent slipped in the belt scene and she sounded very British,

Shatteredmamma1 · 18/05/2014 07:18

Just found this thread - I love the good wife- my favourite programme Grin. So gutted about Will- really think the chemistry between him and Alicia was such a big part of the programme and sad that they'll never get together now!!!

juneau · 18/05/2014 08:03

Yes, I'll miss him too and wonder if the show will be as good without him. Did the actor just decide he wanted to leave? That's what usually happens.

northender · 18/05/2014 08:40

Yes I believe the actor decided to leave but its unusual and risky for a show like this to actually kill off such a central character. Great TV for now though!

clangermum · 18/05/2014 11:09

I wondered if Will's phone message was the one he made a few series ago just before Alicia joined Peter on the dais to 'stand by her man.' The message Alicia either got later, or never got (in which case that wouldn't make sense for her to recall it)

The David Lee moment was great, plus recoiling from Diane

TSSDNCOP · 18/05/2014 11:24

I always think AP sounds British TBH.

Where was Damian the Irish lawyer this week? He was referenced as Will being angry with him for stealing clients, and his policewoman girlfriend helped Kalinda but no other sign.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 18/05/2014 11:30

Josh Charles doesn't seem to be leaving completely - he's directing an episode or 2 (I think I read that somewhere) even though his character is dead.

The Oirish lawyer is obviously going to be some kind of thorn in LG's side somehow. Maybe that'll sooth the ruffled feathers between Florrick Argos and LG - common enemy type of thing?

tribpot · 18/05/2014 11:40

Yes, Josh Charles directed last week's one in the States. A bit weird seeing his name come up at the beginning although to be clear I do know the actor is not dead!

I think Diane/Kalinda wanted to make sure Alicia heard the news from a friend and not from the news or an aide of her husband's.

There's an open letter from the show's creators about the decision to kill Will off - my cousin posted about it on Facebook after the episode appeared in the UK but I haven't linked to it here in case anyone regarded it as too spoilery.

AntoinetteCosway · 18/05/2014 13:12

How do we know it was the Irish lawyer who had been stealing clients? He works at LG-how can he have stolen clients from them? I thought Matthew Goode just said it was a man-I didn't notice him specify who...

Shatteredmamma1 · 18/05/2014 14:08

Ooh tribpot can you link? People can surely choose to open or not? Smile

tribpot · 18/05/2014 14:33

A letter from Robert and Michelle King about the death of Will - warning this does have a mild spoiler in that it confirms the presence of a particular person in the cast for some of the remaining episodes.

Kalinda's accent really was all over the place - I wonder if it's deliberate. You can imagine slipping out of an assumed accent during a time of great stress, like shouting 'paramedics' but surely it would be the most tedious plot point even in Kalinda's history of tedious plot points. So she has a British accent, so what. Does anyone actually care about her back story after that godawful husband last season?

AmIGoingMad · 18/05/2014 18:48

Thanks tribpot! That was interesting to read.

I think on the Irish front he did say male and Irish so I figured it must be him.

Shatteredmamma1 · 18/05/2014 19:37

Thanks tribpot Grin

gamescompendium · 18/05/2014 23:08

Thanks for the letter. Can't believe Josh Charles wanted to leave the show. Why? Although it has made some amazing episodes.

Will's sisters were only in the one episode so not that surprising to forget them. They were quite forgettable!

tribpot · 19/05/2014 06:37

I would imagine that, although well-paid, being a regular on a big US show is extremely restrictive in terms of your ability to do other work. Playing one character for so long isn't really what actors want to be doing, and maybe Josh Charles thought the character arc of Will had gone as far as it could - although certainly it seemed like another reconciliation with Alicia was possible.
