Fab or what!

OP posts:
susiedaisy · 22/02/2014 17:22

I'm still enjoying it even if it's linked to series one. Smile

nennypops · 23/02/2014 22:39

Probably ultra picky of me, but surely no hospital would have a window capable of opening that wide on the 5th floor?

Willemdefoeismine · 24/02/2014 08:26

Nennypops I've had that conversation with DH! Sure they wouldn't - aren't the window apertures designed expressedly to prevent people trying to jump out of them??? And a modern building so no excuses...

susiedaisy · 24/02/2014 08:48

Yes you are right windows wouldn't open that far.

sleepdodger · 25/02/2014 23:13

Whoop tomorrow!

sleepdodger · 26/02/2014 21:10

Knew he'd be back in it....

HazeltheMcWitch · 26/02/2014 21:28

WHo, Sleepdodger - am watching S2 but I didn't see S1.
The copper or the witness?

sleepdodger · 26/02/2014 22:10

Copper
He was dodgy at end of last series

HazeltheMcWitch · 26/02/2014 22:23

Ach, thanks.
Tbh, I have now utterly lost touch with who is probably definitely dodgy, who is certainly possibly dodgy, who is not dodgy so in all likelihood actually is...

guineapiglet · 27/02/2014 08:21

'twas good last night so many twists and turns, brilliant writing as basically everyone is dodgy!

I guess we have to rely on good old DS Arnott to sort it....but as everyone up to the DCC ( told you!) is bent in someway, it will be interesting to see if Keeley is innocent or not....the scenes in the prison were horrific and those two prison guards (private guards obviously) were utterly evil.
can't trust anyone , which is very reassuring!!!

WalkingThePlank · 27/02/2014 09:45

Cor, that was good! I actually screamed out loud when they poured the water on Denton.

I didn't watch the first series but I am assuming that Dot Cottan is corrupt, possibly under the influence of Tommy the WP man. We now think Dryden was something to do with Tommy too, presumably having him and Akers killed because they knew too much.

Dryden's speeding ticket was on 16th August. Do we know when Carly went missing? Was it 16th August by any chance? Carly had a mechanic boyfriend. Did she go to meet him at the workshop and see something she shouldn't have, and end up dead.

Of course, only being half way through, Denton could still be totally guilty. I think the only ones I trust are Arnott, Hastings and possibly Kate (sorry forgotten surname).

Am surprised that Mr Akers seems to be showing no grief or guilt.

Willemdefoeismine · 27/02/2014 10:57

Not a straight copper in sight! I think Denton' s bent but not to be guilty. There' possibly a fine line twixt the ones economical with the truth and those that really are dodgy.

Who is Arnott to trust? He seems the most objective.....

Yes sure the speeding ticket is going to become increasingly relevant...

soupmaker · 27/02/2014 12:00

Yes, Dot was under Tommy's influence.

Loving Keely Hawes in this. Martin Compston fab too.

But wondering if it's all got a bit OTT. Was thrilling viewing though.

diddl · 27/02/2014 13:21

So, was it really Tommy, or had there been a switch?-hence why he was burned?

And Denton & Dryden had been having an affair hence why he called her Linda when she phoned in ep1?

Denton was maybe in on it but in fact was to be the one to take the blame?

wintera · 27/02/2014 13:25

I've been enjoying this but thought last night's ep went a bit ott. The bit with the boiling water, I just didn't buy it.

Cocolepew · 27/02/2014 13:32

I think Denton will be bent in some way but maybe not involved in this, not to her knowledge anyway. She was very quick to get the dirt on the anti corruption lot, so she obviously knew that she was on their radar as a suspect.

guineapiglet · 27/02/2014 14:26

and she still, unilaterally took the decision to change routes and drive straight into the ambush......

guineapiglet · 27/02/2014 14:28

ps I didn't buy the CCTV not working followed by the accident with boiling water,, surely that warranted a proper investigation with her being high risk and vulnerable....

wintera · 27/02/2014 15:24

Exactly guinea - that's why I didn't buy it either.

fyefoot · 27/02/2014 15:30

I think that Denton is still guilty of something, not sure what though. Dryden is defintely in on it but is going to use Ted Hastings as some sort of fall guy, hence keeping him on the investigation once he found out about all of the debt. Also think that Denton will help him do this and some how implicate Kate as revenge (she seems to particularly dislike her.) Last night's wasn't quite as good but still brilliant. I haven't quite worked out what the Carly link is yet. Cotton will let Dryden know that they are on to him. I think...

diddl · 27/02/2014 15:45

I can't understand why Arnott & Fleming appear to be trusting Dot so much.

So that he'll implicate himself?

guineapiglet · 27/02/2014 17:15

Yes diddl, I reckon you are right, he took Steve out to butter him up and get him on side, but Kate and Steve dissed him behind his back repeatedly so I guess they have told him about Dryden to see how far it goes up?

Clawdy · 27/02/2014 17:22

Could Carly be Denton's daughter?

diddl · 27/02/2014 17:27

I wondered that.

guineapiglet · 27/02/2014 17:30

But didn't Carly's parents turn up at the station to go through the case with Denton? The Mum got very upset...... unless she was the step mum and Carly adopted?? I'm wondering if Carly has something to do with Dryden......

Now I really do need to go and cook tea!! :)
