Fab or what!

OP posts:

I did watch the fall, bloody brilliant, if a bit disturbing. Just did a quick google, filming of series 2 meant to start feb 2014, no idea when it will be aired though.

MrFranklyShankly · 21/02/2014 08:42

Pips it's repeated on a Sunday night @ 11pm, I just LOVE this show, best cop drama on telly ;-)

onedev · 21/02/2014 08:46

Thanks irishe

guineapiglet · 21/02/2014 09:06

loved the first series it had slow build up and was brilliantly tense..this one shaping up to be the same. ..Keeley Hawes really watchable and quite sinister. I thought the Lenny James character did commit suicide at the end because of his affair with Jacqui Lafferty and his corruption.... there is clearly something dodgy between the Deputy Chief Constable who gave the gold go ahead and Liz White character, what are they covering up?

diddl · 21/02/2014 09:19

Yes, the Lennie James character ran in front of a lorry.

But I'm sure it showed that one of the guys who worked with him was "bent".

Played by this guy

HazeltheMcWitch · 21/02/2014 11:02

Keeley Hawes IS brilliantly sinister in this, isn't she guinea. I like her as a baddie I think (even though she may yet prove not to be). She should only do baddies in the future - she needs to shrug off period drama and stuck up people.

Belindabelle · 21/02/2014 11:12

I had no idea this was back on. All caught up now and can't wait for episode 3.
I don't normally like Keeley Hawes but she is acting out of her skin in this. The scene with the chip pan was so sinister.

Remind me is Kate married to a policeman? I can't remember if we found out about her home life in series one.

What has the Adrian Dunbar character done to piss his wife off?

Even the chief policeman is in trouble for taking his wife's speeding points.

My favourite ever police drama was Between the Lines but I like that this is only 5 or 6 episodes.

mollypup · 21/02/2014 16:27

I hope the witness isn't someone from series one (I didn't see it so it probably will be!). Loving it so far though! Keeley Hawes plays a brilliant part, although she is a bit volatile I don't think it had anything to do with her.

Clawdy · 21/02/2014 17:36

Yes,I hope so too, mollypup. It's going to make it hard to follow if it's all linked with the first series. Shame as I'm really enjoying it.

truelymadlysleepy · 21/02/2014 17:40

I did see the 1st series but have forgotten it. I think there were lots of crooked cops so it could be any of 'em. Here's hoping for some flash backs.
The dead PCs husband is looking very shifty to me.

Cocolepew · 21/02/2014 17:48

Did Andrian Dnbar help the gangsters wife, whose face was on the missing person's webpage, to cover up his murder? If I remember correctly he was starting an affair with her?

diddl · 21/02/2014 18:14

I think it was Lennie James having an affair with her-or had & was about to again.

Wasn't she paying for his daughters to go to private school?

And the cop who I think is a badun- "Dot" Cotan-wasn't he connected to the guy who tortured Arnott?

Cocolepew · 21/02/2014 18:33

You're right diddl. I wish they had did a recap. Though maybe they had? We recorded it and it missed the first minute or so.

truelymadlysleepy · 22/02/2014 07:20

Yes. Lennie James had the full state funeral after throwing himself in front of a car so that his wife would get his pension.
The Neil Morrisy character was corrupt, but not enough for him to go in WP.
Who was the dodgy golf playing boss, maybe it's him?

Willemdefoeismine · 22/02/2014 09:13

Lennie James was such a full-on character that I'd forgotten Neil Morrissey was in it too.....

I agree about the two plots colliding someway down the line: WP Ambush and the Missing Persons investigation.....but if DI Denton stays in jail how's that going to pan out....presume she will be bailed????

diddl · 22/02/2014 09:36

Please can someone help?

Does anyone remember the "Dot" Cotan character getting in the police van & telling the guy who was being taken away that he would look after things whilst he was inside?

Or something like that or am I thinking of something else?

Also, the guy who tortured Arnott, was he caught?

diddl · 22/02/2014 10:54

Did Jackie Laverty die in series one?

I thought that Gates was knocked unconcious & came eround next to her body?

Is the person in WP Tommy from series1 who tortured Arnott & he was going to expose the police corruption?

Belindabelle · 22/02/2014 11:07

I watched series 1 but don't remember the details. I am seriously considering getting it on DVD to watch again.

diddl · 22/02/2014 11:26

Just found it onlineBlush.

And yes, after Tommy has been arrested (Gates taped him admitting that he'd had people killed), Cottan gets into the van with him & it's obvious from the conversation that Cottan is corrupt.

truelymadlysleepy · 22/02/2014 12:53

diddl, so do we think Tommy or Cottan in WP?

diddl · 22/02/2014 13:30

I'm thinking that it's connected to Series 1 tbh.

Iirc, Jackie Laverty was laundering money.

Tommy was selling drugs(?) & initially wasn't someone killed by/for him for dealing in the same area?

Clawdy · 22/02/2014 14:39

If it's all linked to series one, then there's not a lot of point in new watchers like me continuing to follow it. Pity. Angry

diddl · 22/02/2014 14:52

It might not be, we're just gussing tbh.

It is a shame that they didn't show series one again though, especially if it is connected.

onedev · 22/02/2014 16:39

Any idea where you can watch series 1?

diddl · 22/02/2014 17:14

I found a site called Watch Series.

And only looked at a bit of the last ep of series1 to see if I was right about Tommy & Cottan.

i never watch whole eps on there of things that I've missed, oh no!Wink
