I really dislike Carl.

More so than usual.

Google points cheerful

I dont think Daryl and Beth will get it together. Hope not anyway. Watching lasts nights episode it seems Daryl hadn't really had the chance to form any proper relationships with anyone not even family members his upbringing was so shittyHmm. I think the group he's been with since the apocalypse is probably the nearest to a family his ever got.

limitedperiodonly · 04/03/2014 09:07

Who'd hanged the people in the country club? And there appeared to be non-zombie bodies in a heap. Was it non-members breaking in and massacring them?

TooWetToWoo · 04/03/2014 09:13

I thought that too limited, especially when I saw the body saying rich bitch on it.

BlueFrenchHorn · 04/03/2014 09:19

I thought the hanging bodies were people who committed suicide but the rich bitch dead body threw me. It must've been fairly recent for the hanging bodies to still be "alive" as walkers. They hadn't starved yet.

I did find some parts clichéd and felt that norman Reedus carried the episode.

I still find it really off putting trying to believe Beth is 17 when imo she looks older than Maggie. She's meant to be 3 years older than Coral.

I didn't see next week's preview!

limitedperiodonly · 04/03/2014 09:23

I forgot about the Rich Bitch. Maybe the members took refuge in the country club and other survivors broke in and murdered them.

rallytog1 · 04/03/2014 10:43

There was an episode earlier in s4 where the governor was trying to get in with the new crowd - they went to a house and found some bodies that had signs on saying things like "thief" and "pervert". I assume rich bitch is somehow connected, and I suspect we'll find out more when they reach terminus.

BlueFrenchHorn · 04/03/2014 11:07

Good remembering rally. This confirms to me my Terminus is a cult/religious sect type place theory even more. Maybe they're pleased with the outbreak as it's reverted things back to a simpler non material way of life.

jemjelly · 04/03/2014 11:22

Whoever had written the "rich bitch" note must have been around very recently because grandfather clocks generally need winding everyday don't they? I think someone was still living there.

I hope next episode at least some of the main characters meet up, I'm getting a bit bored, these last few episodes have been really slow.

Tallalime · 04/03/2014 11:48

On talking dead (the discussion show on after TWD) they said that the bodies in the country club were as a result of a class struggle. The workers killed them all basically.

I think the previous labelled bodies were self contained. Two of them were soldiers. The other (murderer) was a suicide. I figured the soldiers turned up at his cabin, said they meant no harm (liar) one of them raped his wife/kid (rapist) so he killed them all and then himself.

limitedperiodonly · 04/03/2014 11:53

Daryl chose a golf club to whack that zombie to death. That revealed some unresolved class issues perhaps.

CheerfulYank · 04/03/2014 15:56

It reminds me of the Stand, with Randall Flagg crucifying everyone on telephone poles. I think it will be something like that.

StrawberryMojito · 04/03/2014 20:51

I really enjoyed that episode, don't know what you're all moaning about.

RayPurchase · 04/03/2014 21:09

Me too Strawberry.

CheerfulYank · 04/03/2014 21:35

I'm not going to watch it yet because all the Beth/Daryl fangirls have irritated me to the point of ridiculousness. And I have to buy each episode individually. But I'll watch it when it's on Netflix!

Whathaveiforgottentoday · 04/03/2014 21:38

I liked it too and liked the end (although personally would have slept in the shed over night and torched in the morning). I thought it was both of them putting their past behind them - Daryl putting his childhood behind him and Beth growing up.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 04/03/2014 22:55

Just caught up with this episode.

I enjoyed it, but hope that the pace picks up next week. I too was really hoping that Darryl and Beth didn't get it on... although I definitely think she was flirting.

If she manages to convince him that they're the only ones left of their group, it could happen. But hopefully they'll meet the others soon and she'll be put back in her place!

My overriding feeling was poor Darryl, he's been a 'nobody' all his life, and in fact he became one of the strongest people in the group but maybe didn't quite realize how valued he was. I want Rick to tell him how great he is.

I think the people in the golf club had camped out there but then carried out a suicide pact... or something.

And two things which pissed me off.

  1. Beth's yellow T shirt. She got splattered with zombie blood, then took off her white cardi. But then the T shirt had 'washed out' blood stains on it, not 'freshly splattered' like they should have been. Then once she got outside the house - there were no bloodstains at all on the shirt, it was just grubby. It must be a magic self cleaning shirt.
  1. The burning of the house. Fine, burn the house down, but spend the night there in relative safety, sleeping off your hangovers before you destroy it. That was just daft.

Oh oh and also - you know the opening scene... where they were obviously being chased by a massive swarm of zombies... well once they reached the road, why didn't the just run along it? They can surely easily outrun the zombies.. but then I guess they would need to hide from them at some point.

I know I over think all of this.

BlueFrenchHorn · 04/03/2014 23:45

michonnes I'm pretty convinced they'll kiss now, she's gained his trust now and there was definite flirting on her behalf.

CheerfulYank · 04/03/2014 23:46

THEY WILL NOT. I refuse. But only because I don't want to stop watching. And I know I will.

Sigh.

HighlanderMam · 05/03/2014 00:54

Hey hey, give the lass a break, I do believe it was daryl that was trying to convince her that everyone else was dead and never to be seen again.

Don't think they will get it on at all, not even a kiss.

They were both drunk. There was no flirting.

Daryl was funny when he was drunk. I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I'M TAKIN A PISS! ..well he was a dick but I laughed at the time watching it.

Agree they were kicking their pasts to the curb with the burning, he said it, it was just like where his father used to spend his days.

HighlanderMam · 05/03/2014 00:55

Oh bold fail...

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 05/03/2014 07:02

Perhaps they'll get it on / nearly get it on, just before they rediscover the others and Darryl finds Carol - who I believe he really loves.

Then he'll drop Beth and there will be some sort of love triangle.

BlueFrenchHorn · 05/03/2014 11:07

michonnes yes I think something like that too. Beth strikes me as a bit unhinged and very immature and can imagine her getting a bit obsessed. Coral on the other hand is 3 years younger and acts far more mature.

Really want some of the groups to reunite now. At the rate beth and daryl are pissing about eating sbakes and burning houses, they'll be the last ones at terminus.

BlueFrenchHorn · 05/03/2014 11:08

Snakes
