Vera leaving the cobbles really made me blubbing. I'm not sure if Hayley's departure will make me feel the same?

OP posts:
Migsy1 · 18/02/2014 21:03

Agreed re Todd. He is sinister

Clawdy · 18/02/2014 21:57

And his face has sort of ballooned out....

squoosh · 19/02/2014 19:40

Oh Roy! I'm so happy to see you, and talking about industrial revolution machinery! Awwwwww.

alemci · 19/02/2014 19:40

go Roy. glad you're back

NuggetofPurestGreen · 19/02/2014 19:41

Am I imagining it or did Emmerdale have a storyline recently about Betty (and Sandy I think) watching Breaking Bad??

NuggetofPurestGreen · 19/02/2014 19:42

I know the soaps are repetitive but that's a bit much if I'm remembering it correctly!

Nospringchickendipper · 19/02/2014 20:04

Nugget Yes you are right both Corrie and Emmerdale have referred to Breaking Bad maybe the script writer worked at Emmerdale before moving to Corrie.

squoosh · 19/02/2014 20:06

To be honest I'd say that's more coincidence than copying. ALL soap writers will have recently watched and swooned over Breaking Bad and probably think they're being a bit witty and subversive by having the mild OAPs watching it.

JodieGarberJacob · 19/02/2014 21:40

I got teary tonight at the end when Roy said thank you to Hayley. Awww. I've been pretty stony-faced about the whole thing up until now.
Bloody Todd! Can't Tina be saved and Todd murdered instead? Grrrr!
Loved Mary getting carried away about the train. More of her humorous lines please!

hickorychicken · 19/02/2014 21:56

Was todd such a twat before he left? I was too young to really care then haha!! Grin

NuggetofPurestGreen · 20/02/2014 07:21

No he was alright before. It was that London that turned him bad!

Yeah agree it's probably just coincidence about BB but I thought it was was funny and yes you're right squoosh they probably think they're being right clever.

Strawdolly · 20/02/2014 08:55

Bloody continuity announcer said Steve & Co were going to bump into someone at the Railway Museum. I hadn't invested much any of my thought into it before then so it hadn't occurred to me that Roy might be there. It's a rare thing to avoid a spoiler nowadays but for them to tell you what's going to happen just before a programme comes on is a bit bloody much Angry

Glad to see him back though Smile

Ladytron · 21/02/2014 20:29

What on earth was that that Tina served up to Peter? It looked like raw meat and salad???

And Marcus! , you've fallen into Todd's trap.

squoosh · 21/02/2014 20:33

Is Gloria trying to get Dennis to ditch Rita just so she can then tell him feck off.

Poor Rita, I like her.

MikeLitoris · 21/02/2014 20:56

Shock Shock

Poor Rita!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 21/02/2014 20:58

Poor Rita. That was cruel.

squoosh · 21/02/2014 20:58

I hope that sport's car ends up under an articulated lorry.

That was a bit of a weird and heartless goodbye.

thenightsky · 21/02/2014 21:27

that sports car is a VERY lovely old E-type Jaguar. How the hell did Gloria afford that? [skeptical]

KenDoddsDadsDog · 21/02/2014 21:51

He was homeless and Rita saved him Sad

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/02/2014 21:52

Dennis wouldn't have done that. The writers are getting worse.

theliverpoolone · 21/02/2014 22:07

Dennis definitely wouldnt have done that. I agree, the writers got that very wrong.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/02/2014 22:08

He has known Rita for decades. It was just unrealistic in a way that even in a soap it was ridiculous.

alemci · 21/02/2014 22:11

gloria is a gold digger so she wouldn't want to sub Dennis who relies on Rita. remember the ring story.

just rubbish, poor Rita

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/02/2014 22:13

Exactly, alemci.

eddiemairswife · 21/02/2014 23:05

What a ridiculous story-line! If they were going to get rid of Dennis why have him marry Rita in the first place? People of his age don't generally behave like that. All the characters seem to be ruled by their loins.
