Vera leaving the cobbles really made me blubbing. I'm not sure if Hayley's departure will make me feel the same?

I loved that bit in the Bistro when Tim ordered a beer and Sally said that he was just joking then ordered two glasses of Pinot Grigio like it was the height of sophistication Grin

skillsandtea · 31/01/2014 18:22

I'm quite fancying the personal trainer. Is his name Kal? Mmm..

qazxc · 31/01/2014 21:04

Does anybody think that Roy should ask for his spare key back from the ginger winger?
It's 3 times this episode she has used them to just barge in, including one time when both tyrone and anna were telling her "leave him, he just needs space"

chocoluvva · 31/01/2014 22:23

Poor Roy indeed - he's such a private, reserved person - what a nightmare having all these people breaking into his flat.

Migsy1 · 31/01/2014 23:18

So, where is he really off to?

magentastardust · 31/01/2014 23:28

How old do we thing Mary is supposed to be.

Still can't believe the character of Hayley would have been around 30 when she first started in it!

squoosh · 31/01/2014 23:30

I'm sure Mary mentioned recently that she's 37/38 Shock

chocoluvva · 01/02/2014 08:58

Mary gives the impression of being very clever and educated. What went wrong in her past? Grin

JodieGarberJacob · 01/02/2014 09:16

Wow! A nice side to Norris! That's a first.

qazxc · 01/02/2014 09:28

I'd imagine Roy is running anywhere that is free of people bargeing in and bossing him around. He might have a realtionship with fizz but surely he hardly knows Carla.
I liked the way that Mary pulled Roy to one side to discuss chess because she saw that people swarming all over him was making him uncomfortable and didn't try to push herself on him (just said if you want to talk, let me know). And Anna saying "if it gets too much, tip me the nod and I'll bring you home". Surely that is how normal tactful people act, esp as they must all know that Roy is very private and set in his ways/ likes things done a certain way type of person.

I'd imagine the clothes, the mannerisms and the fact that they pair her with the more senior members of cast might make Mary look older than she is.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/02/2014 09:46

Mary looks way older than 38 (in Corrie anyway, never seen he in real life). 48 would be more like it. Didn't she have a controlling mother, who probably stopped her fulfilling her potential? And was bullied at school?

qazxc · 01/02/2014 09:47

chocoluva Not quite sure, there have been a few mentions of a mother who sounds like she was quite controlling and possibly a bit EA.

Nospringchickendipper · 01/02/2014 13:53

I think Mary is one of the best characters in Corrie, she quirky and a bit different than most of those who live in Corrie I watched an interview she did and she said that she had always wanted to have part on it and was really excited that she eventually got one.
David Neilson was fantastic last night , he spoke only a few times but his mannerism and facial expression showed his pain and lost.
I had to keep reminding myself last night that it wasn't real no actually died.

DesperateHousewife21 · 01/02/2014 13:54

Fiz annoyed me throughout the entire funeral episodes. Honestly leave poor Roy alone to grieve in peace!

JodieGarberJacob · 01/02/2014 14:09

The possible reason why Carla has taken such a major role in Hayley's demise could be because those scenes were originally given to Sylvia but as she had to leave the role suddenly they were a bit stuck! Carla only became a close 'friend' after Sylvia left.

coco35 · 01/02/2014 15:14

Just watched last nights episode now...that fix needs a huge kick up the ass....who does she think she is...Tyrone has shown such maturity and emotional intelligence compared to her...any wonder Roy left....poor man they are treating him very badly ..

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2014 15:26

Hello.Caught some of the omnibus earlier can I ask some questions?

mileysorearse · 01/02/2014 15:44

Ask away Sparkling Grin

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2014 15:49

Thanks! Ok-

What was Carla's relationship with Hayley? Were they close?
Does Dev fancy Cindy from Eastenders?

Nospringchickendipper · 01/02/2014 17:25

Sparkling In the scene when Carla and Hayley met in the factory just before Hayley died Carla mentioned the time Tony Gordon tried to kill her and that Hayley didn't leave her.
I can't really remember this.I think Carla was trying to tell her that she had saved her from being killed so she would always be grateful to her.

Sparklingbrook · 01/02/2014 17:29

Oh right thanks Nospring, I just wondered why Carla was so involved.

Fiz is a nightmare isn't she? Sad it's all about her apparently.

I assume homeless girl will have a complete makeover at some point and be stunning?

Tracey luv is a bizarre character isn't she?

chocoluvva · 01/02/2014 17:52

qazxc - Ah - that could explain it - she seems to have a very good general knowledge and vocabulary.

sparklingbrook - homeless girl will have a complete makeover at some point and be stunning Grin. That seems very likely.
