The Bridge is back on Saturday 4th January on BBC 4!
Only for a double bill thoughSad but better than nothing.

OP posts:
stinkingbishop · 27/01/2014 11:58

No. But the art teacher description is most apt!

Ladytron · 27/01/2014 13:13

What about the gay hotel scene when Saga gave a longer-than-necessary look at the Security guy's manhood. Speaking of which, we are no further along with why Claudio was bumped off.
Karolina's husband's phone hasn't revealed its texts yet either...
Roll on next Saturday!

Ubik1 · 27/01/2014 13:33

Was Claudio bumped off by perv brother for..um..servicing the sister? Does that mean that Bodil is next on the list?

TorcBasilandLime · 27/01/2014 13:43

I thought the hidden phone had revealed its messages. That's how caroline knew that her husband was having an affair with her sister.

highlevelbridge · 27/01/2014 14:15

Oliver's glasses and inefficiency stop me taking him seriously. Apparently he was the gunman at the football ground, but failed to kill Laura from a few feet away, and after V&B's bucket list liaison, stomped into Bodil's office and threw a tantrum rather than a poison dart. And has he got a job?

WipsGlitter · 27/01/2014 14:19

I think the brother fucked up some trials and the bodies in boat were dumped to cover it up and that's why he wasn't allowed to take over the company.

Agree the water thing is relevant, as possibly was the slightly laboured explanation of munchausens by proxy with Martin's son, so the sister isn't ill at all but he is poisoning her and using the others as trials for how much to give her.

tobiasfunke · 27/01/2014 14:20

Oliver is like a late 80's throwback with his black poloneck and funny haircut. Like a speccy Rick Astley.

marzipanned · 27/01/2014 15:29

Though Viktoria said that Oliver was too "weak" to run the company so maybe he tried to stop indiscriminate killing of innocent clinical trial participants...

MarshaBrady · 27/01/2014 15:30

He is ultra creepy. No eyebrows.

TorcBasilandLime · 27/01/2014 16:54

Rick astley! Ha! :-)

mousmous · 27/01/2014 18:32

gigolo was bumped off because he 'knew' many interesting an influential women and wanted to write a book about it. --> bodil?

mrsjavierbardem · 28/01/2014 00:11

Omg acrylic your theories are going to make my mind implode with their complexity I am out of my league !
stinking you need to give her horlicks at 8 pm and run her a Vast Bath. No one must stop the joy/loss/horror of these last two episodes!!
(sobbing)

tobiasfunke · 28/01/2014 09:14

Because there are 2 more episodes to go I'm wondering whether Oliver's wife has more to give where all this is concerned as she is the chief scientist. Maybe Oliver will be the next on the operating table. She could be the one poisoning Viktoria.

CurrerBell · 28/01/2014 13:18

Ahead of the finale on Saturday I'm rewatching some of the episodes again on iPlayer...

When Julian is being killed, the 'medical test scorecard' says at the top 'PHASE II'. Could the first phase have been nine years ago (Medisonus's clinical trial)? The perp is watching through a glass screen with two monitors/cameras. Saga also finds a window and hidden room behind the lab at Medisonus.

Why the gap of nine years between the first boat sinking, and present events?

Also there are three victims before Julian on the 'Phase 2' scorecard - a man then two women. Who were they? The perp is reducing the dose each time and seeing how long it takes them to die.

Skype woman could be Viktoria and Oliver's mother. Her other child could be Laura's mother, who died as a result of the original clinical trial, or perhaps some other kind of poisoning?

Laura's dad knows/fears something, and is always watching and trying to protect his daughter, right form the start.

areyoutheregoditsmemargaret · 28/01/2014 13:52

Joining late, having caught up

bishop can you buy your dm cinema tickets. "Treat" her?

I too adore Lillian and her feather boas

I think Rasmus is not a numpty, but the criminal mastermind

WipsGlitter · 28/01/2014 14:17

I think the room Saga was in is the room that the perp is using. And Mikael Host has been accessing it. Good spot re the phase two on the medical scorecard!

Isn't Skype woman the wife of the supposedly dead head of security?

Laura's dad brought the info to the police at the start.

It's so exciting!!!

stinkingbishop · 28/01/2014 16:37

Yes, Skype woman can't be their mother because a) she has a different surname and b) the company was inherited. So the parents must both be dead/hiding, and she ain't.

Phase II - excellent sleuthing currer. Not the eco students, because their bodies were found. Sternberg's ex wife? Unless she's Viktoria/Bodil/Gertrude/Caroline. Hmmm.

The gap of 9 years ties in with when the previous Head of Research left...so maybe the first phase was official, but then heads had to roll, and the Baddie has unofficially picked up Phase II when they had the ability to do so.

I think it's right that Laura's Dad's surveillance is most probably because he's worried something will happen to her. Hence his over protection at the beginning. OR to him. I still wonder whether he's some sort of uber sleuth, and is monitoring things to do with the conference from a global perspective. 'Global problems, local actions' is the title of Viktoria's speech.

I am sooooooooo depressed about this ending and how I am going to occupy my detection lobe Smile.

fussychica · 28/01/2014 18:16

Well there's Salamander a new 12 part Flemish crime drama starting on 8th Feb - same time, same channel. No idea whether it will be any good and I don't think it's possible that it could get close to the brilliance that is The Bridge - Saga is soo incredible. However, it might keep your detection lobe occupied Stinking and fulfil our need for EurocrimeGrin

fussychica · 28/01/2014 23:11

If that's not enough - just read that season 3 of The Bridge is currently being written Grin

demisemiquaver · 28/01/2014 23:38

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 29/01/2014 00:00

DM arrives on Sat afternoon for a week. That means she is going to be here for the finale and I don't even have any evenings to catch up. Not only has she not seen any of The Bridge but also SHE TALKS ALL THE WAY THROUGH PROGRAMMES.

Shall we PM you the identity of the killer at 11 pm? .

stinkingbishop · 29/01/2014 06:42

No!!! Don't! I think the most likely solution is I just mainline coffee and watch it as soon as she goes to bed. Fast forward to sleepless night and a wrecked Sunday but heck, it's worth it!

Cat98 · 29/01/2014 07:45

I don't know if I'm going to be able to watch it on Saturday, we might be away - have to wait until Monday night! Not sure I can cope...

mrsjavierbardem · 29/01/2014 14:06

my dm is coming as well if she talks at all or asks who is who or why is what then she will be sent to bed with her devotional literature and told not to appear until breakfast!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 29/01/2014 16:51

Grin All these mums visiting and being shushed. I have family members who, because subtitles are up, still think it's all right to yak on. !
