Sontaran that SJA episode was brilliant wasn't it? most SJA episodes were better than DW ! aaargh! mostly written by Russel TD.

I do like the Moff, hes written some gooduns- the gas mask episodes, Blink, but lately........

"It's bollocks, basically Grin"

Ha! Sorry, I just thought PaulMcGannsMistress's summing up, further up the thread, about the attempts to reconcile the narrative continuity issues over the last few seasons was funny.

It wasn't a general comment or owt! Grin

LetZygonsbeZygons · 26/11/2013 21:21

now that the tardis emoticons gone Sad was wondering what the available ones we could use as WHO stuff.

weve got the Biscuit one for Matt Smiths jammie dodgers (ooh that sounds rude!)

we could use the Hmm one for William Hartnell as he said 'hmm' a lot!

Brew for David Tennant as he needed a nice hot cuppa to recover from regenerating (my own theory is that this was a nod to HHTTTG, as was him fighting in his pj's, Douglas Adams having been a Dr Who script editor).

Grin reminds me of Tom Baker, somehow!

TheSontaranPussycat · 26/11/2013 21:45

*HHGTTG Brew

MavisKorvarian · 26/11/2013 21:54

Surely some would say that the all-eyes-and-teeth-school-of-acting-DT could be Grin

You wouldn't catch me saying that though..

FrankelInFoal · 26/11/2013 21:58

Sontaran, you're probably right about the tea thing. Didn't Douglas Adams write some Doctor Who episodes at some stage?

FrankelInFoal · 26/11/2013 21:59

God I'm thick, if I'd read your post properly I'd have seen that you had already mentioned that Blush

TheSontaranPussycat · 26/11/2013 22:16

He is best know for more or less rewriting what became City of Death, which I also saw on its first transmission(s). This includes a cameo by John Cleese and Eleonor Bron, who admire the Tardis disappearing from an art gallery as a fine piece of modern art, IIRC.

teejwood · 26/11/2013 22:32

has anyone seen the images that have been released for the Christmas special? I have seen no spoilers for the ep itself but the picture was interesting...

also - all this stuff about 9/10/11/12/13 - Moffat had it in the script for TDOTD that the Time Lords say "All 13 of them" when we see Capaldi, so I'm not sure how Moff can simultaneously say that actually 11 is 13 instead. I know he lies, but it would be contradicting the script he's just written ffs....

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 26/11/2013 23:31

I think he's saying 11 is 12. There have been twelve regenerations including DT's regenerationette, but they've only resulted in twelve Doctors . Maybe?

HarrietJonesPM · 27/11/2013 07:53

All 13 would still allow for 'retiring' in an old face as the curator?

SoupDragon · 27/11/2013 09:01

How about JH actually regenerated into PC who regenerated into CE and we're going to go back in time (!) for the new series? That would really screw with the numbers! :o

TheSontaranPussycat · 27/11/2013 11:13

People would be scraping bits of their own brain off their TVs.

SoupDragon · 27/11/2013 11:22

:)

It would explain why they didn't show JH regenerate into CE though... just sayin'... Wink

Can you imagine?

SoupDragon · 27/11/2013 11:23

They'd have to somehow get Clara back to be his companion though.

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/11/2013 17:35

HHTTTG. erm whats that? Hmm

TheDoctorsNiece · 27/11/2013 17:37

Yay we're still here!
I'm not quite ready to let go yet and have re watched a few times now picking up things I missed first time round at the cinema (turns out I missed a few fab one liners when ds spilt his drink, gurr!)
I have watched the 5ish doctors now and that was amazing fun.
I have am very looking forward to the Christmas special ;) (miss the TARDIS, want it back!)

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 27/11/2013 17:44

Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/11/2013 17:45

I missed the 5ish doctors, cant find it anywhere Sad.
Niece were all going cold turkey aren't we?

we can still keep this thread going though as weve got the xmas one coming up and stuff.

OP posts:
LetZygonsbeZygons · 27/11/2013 17:47

thanks Adventure never watch hitch hikers (wasn't that the one with ex-mrs Davison)? or am I mixing it with red dwarf (another one ive never seen)

OP posts:
AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 27/11/2013 17:54

The TV version had the ex-Mrs Davison as Trillian, plus a guest appearance from Mr Davison as the Dish of the Day. But the original radio version (available on CD...) is where it's at for the true afficionado.

Douglas Adams wrote the whole of "City of Death" over a weekend when a contracted scriptwriter failed to deliver and production of the episodes had to start the next week Shock. And it was recently voted third or fourth best DW story of all time, IIRC.
